Should you edit your fan speeds?

Hey!

So, Ive had my PC for around 5ish years and I have never actually looked into changing the RPMs on my fans, or dont even know if I can or should. 

 

I am upgrading to a 1660ti from my 1050ti, Im not sure if I should keep all my PCs fan speeds the same or change them (if i can)

 

Here are some temps and fan speeds. 

None of theses are under load, Im just watching YouTube and doing Excel stuff

DDR= douple the data rate, meaning that your ram is running douple the value what your task manager is showing. Though you are only running @2133mhz, and your ram is rated at 2400mhz. Go to bios and put your xmp/D.O.C.P mode on

Could you possibility give me a quick run down on what this does? is there any pros or cons of doing this?

Please check Ryzen temps with Ryzen master, and check how high they get. Thats the key thing if you are looking to modify from auto speeds.

 

Only reason why fan speeds are customized is to bring idle and load noise levels down. For example my GPU fan is capped at 60% of speed so I can't hear it when gaming with headphones. All case and CPU fans are capped at 80% for same reason. I've also measured where fan speed stops making any difference in temps. So at which speed it doesn't really matter if you run it at full speed or 20% lower.

No. You do not void warranty by doing that since t is natural to put on xmo or D.O.C.P to run at rated speeds.

 

-Pros. Ryzen likes faster speeds, so except a little performance gain.

-Your system and apps etc will run slightly faster, guess you wont even notice that.

 

-Cons, your memory runs hotter put not that hot. my 3600mhz memory run 50c in stress test, so do not worry about that
