Stock Cooler

EchoBlue

Thinking about getting a Ryzen 5 3600 and using the STOCK cooler instead.

Is it going to be enough to keep it cool?

I plan on gaming mostly.

get r5 3600x, it comes with better stock cooler.

r5 3600's stock cooler is good enough, but r5 3600x's cooler is better

Do you have any idea why people buy a 3rd party cooler? If the stock cooler is enough to keep it cool?

Is the cooler blowing the air into the CPU or out?

The cooler fan blows towards the motherboard.

Some reasons for getting an aftermarket cooler include lower noise, temps, or a different aesthetic.

What's quiet is subjective and will vary depending on who you ask. If it's quiet enough for you, then that's great!

Oh I see.

I think a stock cooler would be fine for me then.

I don't plan to to do any OCing or anything crazy.

Thanks for getting back to me.

For the 40 dollar difference you can pick up a 212 evo aftermarket cooler which is significantly better.

Those are older CPU models.

I am not so sure if this video even matters now that we are talking about the 3rd Gen Ryzen 5 CPUs.

I am perfectly aware that the vid was about the old cooler and CPU. However since the new cooler is louder and less efficient, that doesn't matter now does it? A 212 EVO will cool better than a Spire, period.

Thanks for replying @ravenshrike I'll keep that in mind. Hopefully I'll have to budget for it.
