I have a gtx 1080, I have been shopping for monitors and I can't decide between a 1440p 144hz monitor or a 1080p 144hz monitor? Thoughts?

Pc Specs:

Ryzen 5 1400 (Soon to be 3600X) - ROG STRIX X470-F  - G.Skill Trident Z RGB 16gb 3200mhz - Hyper 212 EVO - Gigabyte Windforce GTX 1080 - EVGA 1000W GW - NZXT H500i

1440p 144Hz is becoming the new sweet spot pretty quick, and I can safely say it's quite a treat. You can't max out games with the 1080 at 1440p and get super high framerates, but you would have a very comfortable experience on medium.

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k (won) - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Kill Trident Z RGB - Force MP500 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - The venerated Hyper 212 Evo (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G2 650W - Black and green theme, Razer branwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

Linux Proliant ML150 G6:

Dual Xeon X5560 - 24GB ECC DDR3 - GTX 750 TI - old Seagate 1.5TB HDD - Dark moded Ubuntu (and Win7, cuz why not)

EVGA G3 thread, BR/BT threadSeasonic Focus thread, S12II/M12II thread, Userbenchmark (Et al.) is trash explained, PSU misconceptions

Yeah I'll probably get the 1440p but I might run some games on 1080p for the high fps.

Just left 1080p 144 1ms,1 would do great on 1080p 144  and good on 1440p get Gsync so if AAA game is like 60 110 its smooth as higher fps

I now on asus 1440p 165hz 4ms ips asus PG279Q 27in 130-160s most close alot to 165fps/165hz

ASUS X99 STRIX MB

Extreme xseries I7 6850k 3.6@4.410 6/12/15mb

32GB DDR 4 PC 3000 @3152

2 1080GTX EVGA SUPERCLOCKED@2114/5506  not 1708/5005

RAID 0 2XSSD 480GB ON SATA6GB WITH 16GB Ram cache
