Find info about ip address

Hi 

 

Im not sure if this is the right topic im posting on but ill give it a shot.

 

So a friend of mine has been receiving emails that his FB account password has been changed a couple times now.

In the email is the ip address and he name of area the user changed the password.

 

Is there any way we can get a name fromt this? or a device name/type?

The most useful thing you can do is report it to Facebook.

 

At the very least you can get a domain name using nslookup or something similar

 Additional info may or may not be available.

You probably won't be able to find anything really, try @APasz approach, but don't get your hopes up.

 

Do report the activity to Facebook, change the Facebook password and maybe even the password for the email account associated with it. Just to be safe, you can also enable 2FA.

Chances are it's a fake email that's hoping he will click the link to change his details and enter them into a fake site.
