Choosing a 27" 1440p IPS monitor

SOLO_AVENGER

I live in the UK and I am currently trying to find a monitor that has a 27" 1440p IPS panel and a high refresh rate (around 144hz). I am currently leaning towards the Acer VG270UP/VG271UP as those are some of the cheapest I've seen at around £350 to £400, however I have seen numerous reports of flickering issues with this monitor. I'm wondering if it's worth spending extra on the Aorus AD27QD (£530)  which has the same panel or going towards something like the Asus PG279Q (£650) or the Acer XB271HU (£600). Another option is to wait for the Asus TUF Gaming VG27AQ, but I have no idea when that is coming out.

I'm not sure on the specific feature differences of the monitors other than whether they have G Sync or FreeSync, I'm also not sure about whether the higher cost means better QC, so if anyone has any insight, that would be great. I am also happy to take other monitor recommendations.

That is probably because it was connected with HDMI.  You shouldn't have flickering issues with DP connection.

Not entirely sure about this as I have seen a lot of reports of the issue.

Is the Aorus worth it over the acer models? Any idea when to expect the TUF series and at what price point to expect them at? I hear LG are also releasing a new 27" 1440p freesync monitor.

Right now its a very good idea to buy a monitor.  Nothing is really going to change in the next 2 to 3 years.  Maybe in 3 years time OLED will be more common.  Other then that, if your wondering wheter to pull the trigger or not then I say go for it.  Be more concerend with wheter its TN or VA or IPS , rather its asus or acer.  Look at the full specs and make decision.

Well, only if you care about it's features though. As for TUF series, no info on price or release yet, but they'll have Adaptive Sync along with motion blur tech working together. Currently on monitors you have to choose one of it. The LG is supposed to release 1ms IPS monitor.
