Hello!

 

I tried repairing my friend's pc. It would not boot and I was thinking it may have been the CPU. Although just replaced, it has not loaded up or booted at all.

 

The rest of the components work, the fans just blare on and off in a repeated pattern. 

 

Specs: 

CPU - Q6600

Cooler - Cooler Master V8

RAM - 8GB DDR2 

GPU - Radeon HD 6970

PSU - Thermal Take 700w

HDD - 4x 500gb Seagate

 

Ignore cable management ty

always reset cmos/ do cleaning / remove all unnecessary stuff to boot.

Likely the PSU or motherboard. Could also be faulty RAM. Could be literally anything without trying more troubleshooting.

 

Try a different PSU first. A LOT of problems with failing to boot stem from a faulty PSU.

 

Try different RAM, see if that works.

 

If there is an error LED on the motherboard, or beeping, check the motherboard manual to see what it means. Would point you to RAM, VGA, etc problems.

 

CPU is the LEAST likely culprit, CPU's rarely fail.

I also believe that it is a faulty RAM problem, you should connect only the MOBO, the CPU, the GPU, and the monitor and then try to enter the BIOS to reset the BIOS. If you have more than one RAM module try one at a time, if you can not even enter the BIOS, try a different RAM.
