Mjölnir - White Lightning 2.0

LIGISTX

Backstory:

I got a fantastic deal on a RTX 2080, so I decided to go a bit ham and #sendit with an entirely new water cooling setup, borrowing parts from another build of mine. For reasons that don't much matter here, I have two PC's, one is a 6700k @ 4.6 GHZ and a GTX 1080 FTW @ 1999 MHz, all on water (currently this is my sig, will soon change once this build is finished). I have another machine I built with a 8700k @ 5 GHz on a hyper 212 Evo and a GTX 1070 FTW I more or less got for free from a buddy. With this new 2080, I figured it would be stupid not to pair it with the 8700k which isn't my main machine. Its more of a family use/backup for me.

Parts:

8700k

EVGA RTX 2080 XC Ultra

MSI Z390-A Pro (got this basically for free with the 8700k at a micro center sale, only reason I even have a 8700k tbh)

4x8GB DDR4 3000MHz C15 Corsair LPX

Samsung 950 Pro NVMe 512 GB

Samsung 830 Pro 256 GB x2 RAID 0

Corsair RM650i

Sound BlaterX EA-5

Alphacool XT45 X- Flow 420

Alphacool UT60 280

EK Vector RTX 2080

EK Supremacy Classic RGB

Noctua NF-A14 PWM Chromax x3

Noctua NF-P14s Redux

PrimoFlex Advanced LRT 3/8 ID Elegant White

Corsair Commander Pro

Fractal Design Define S2 Gunmetal

The Plan:

The plan is to use the UT60 up front, with the Redux fans in push. These parts are being reused from my old setup which is why I didn't just buy new chromax fans for this rad. No point to me, just would up the price by ~50 bucks for no real gain. Under idle the front fans will be off completely anyways which is how I have my current setup. With this much rad space, I am curious how long I will be able to run with no fans at all, just as a fun test. I do plan to run the top fans on the 420 rad at about 450-500 rpm at idle as the goal here is dead silent PC, even under game load. Also, I am not 100% sure I will be able to fit the front fans/rad/pump without a bit of case modification, but it should just fit based off some measurements I got from a S2 owner. The front opening should be about 170-175mm, and after adding all of my parts up, 60 for rad, 25 for fans, and I believe 76 for the D5 pump from EK, it should just fit. I will 3D print a mount for the pump as it wouldn't fit mounted to the rad like normal. It will need to be right up against the rad.

First part showed up yesterday, everything else should be in today. Let the build commence!
