VMM Hackintosh - Manjaro

Hello,

I'm trying to do the "Hackintosh" VM thing with VMM like Linus and Anthony did in their video. I've followed literally every one of the steps in that video. However, I hit a roadblock when I had to "define" the VM. when I typed in the command "virsh define hackintosh.xml" it comes back saying "Domain MacOS (which is what I named it) defined from hacking.xml (also just what I called it)". This is where my issue arises. In Virual Machine Manager I can't see the VM that should have been created. Any help?

I've tried:

  • Reinstalling VMM
  • undefining my other VM that should've been created
  • Redownloading the Hackintosh-KVM files from the github.
  • Remade the osx_amd_i440fx.xml - deleting the stuff left over from the author.
  • Literally watched LTT's video like 15 times total

EDIT:

I forgot to mention that I'm running an Ryzen 5 2500 and a RX 580.

  • 2 weeks later...

add sudo before the virsh, that's what worked for me! So: sudo virsh define hacking.xml in your case
