Cheapest 2 bey RAID enclosure

Hi. I am looking for a 2-bey hard drive RAID enclosure. The cheapest I have found is £60 so is it more efficient to just get a £30 PC and put 2 hard drives in there ?

Ahh I see. What do you wish to do with the PC? do you mean you want to run plex media player/fileserver on it? if so it should be plenty good enough for that usage. But depends on actual model, as they're rather generic with naming IMO. Some will have space for the HDDs and others may not, they might be SFF PCs maybe.. and might not have extra SATA power etc that's needed. I would seriously ask, or ask if you can take a look inside to see what the spec is regarding expansion first.

@paddy-stone I just need to use it as a fileshare server. 500gb of storage with 2 hardrives in RAID should be enough, althaugh I want room for upgradeabiltiy

Yeah, I see nothing wrong with that really... as long as it has SATA power etc, if not you might have to get some molex to sata power cables, pretty sure the mobo should be SATA, but might be soemthing else to check.

It's SFF though, so might only be able to fit one HDD... but if you use externals it could work out.
