Random no-post

Found the cause, the m.2 SSD whilst being in "good health" and passing all tests was the culprit behind no post and random detection problems. System runs fine on a 2.5" 120GB SSD..

For the last half a year I've been building a system based around a R5 2400g APU.

Initially I bought:

  • R5 2400g
  • A-Data XPG6000 Pro 512GB m.2 SSD
  • Gigabyte B450 I Aorus Pro Wi-Fi motherboard
  • G Skill 16GB (2x8) 3000MHz ram kit
  • Deepcool DA500-M PSU
  • CM Elite 110 case

Among the initial problems the system would just not randomly boot and often would have random BSODs

I started changing out parts, to the point that the only two things that remained the same was the SSD and the case.

Current build:

  • R5 2400g (RMA'd old one)
  • A-Data XPG6000 Pro 512GB m.2 SSD
  • MSI B450i mITX mobo
  • Corsair Vengence LPX 16GB (2x8) (checked compatibility)
  • Seasonic M12II-520 PSU
  • CM ELite 110 case

Currently I'm not getting any BSODs, the system runs fine for the most part however during boot I can audibly hear that the fan curve has been enabled but the system doesn't post (no BIOS), upon forced shutdown it sometimes boots to windows, sometimes goes straight to BIOS in which it doesn't list the SSD as a boot drive. I've done the SSD troubleshooting steps and it seems to be in perfect health with no issues. Only thing to note is that the SSD doesn't seem to be on compatibility list for the MSI motherboard, however I'm not sure why that would be even remotely relevant.

Could all my problems be caused by a single SSD and I've changed most of the parts to no avail?

Mine has been up to date since I switched to the MSI board. Clean windows install after each part change as well.
