Dying GPU? Not sure.

I have been noticing a new strange issue with my desktop. I have a EVGA 980 Ti FTW GPU that I've had for a REALLY long time, probably a couple of years now. I stream and game on this graphics almost 25 hours a week. My issue is this. I have it set in windows that after 15 minutes Windows will display the "black" screensaver but my monitors are usually still awake meaning their power lights are still lit as normal like when I use them. Well as of recent when the screensaver goes to "black" 2 of the out monitors, I have 3 monitors, will power into a "sleep" state and are not displaying the "black" screensaver. I did some research on Google and symptoms of a dying GPU were a black screen, however, I don't know if that's on power up or what. I know the video cables are fine, and I just updated my Geforce driver last night, upon writing this that was February 15th at 4AM. I know Windows had a few updates, but none of them have to do with the GPU. So how do I know if my 980 Ti is starting to go on me? Should I replace the GPU now before I start having real issues? And if so, what is the next GPU that comes close to a 980 Ti?

Also too after the monitors enter this "sleep state" then it shifts all my windows I have open to one "asleep monitor" or the other.

does it come back from sleep? if it does, its probably something to do with power saving. switch the cables and see which one does not display the black screen. if it changes, its power saving in the gpu. if it doesnt change, its power saving on the monitor.

I just checked all the power settings and they are set to "Never" turn off the monitor Displays. I also checked the monitor's own power settings and same thing there.

If I had to spend the money, what is the next closest card to upgrade too?

980ti is basically exactly the same as 1070 or slightly slower than 2060. if you do get a new gpu, it wont be worth it to get either of them. get atleast 1080/2070.

y'know i got a 945gm chipset(950 gma) laptop with a core 2 duo and windows xp that still works. However, I got better hardware from that because it didn't even support hardware T&L.

From your logic, i should've just stuck with the 950 gma

As for OP, If you had to upgrade from a 980 ti i'd look to a 2060,2070 or 2080

I feel like my GPU isn't performing as it used too either. Somehow things feel like laggy? I am not sure why.

I would definitely upgrade to a 2080 or Radeon V or 1080 Ti or even 2080 Ti.

If you want another card to last really long.

I am gaming at 4k with my 1080 Ti and it struggles on some games even.

I figure I've been hammering my GPU for the last 4 years of streaming and gaming, and I am doing more and more on my PC. Heck I just upgraded to a Ryzen 2 2700 and in the back of my mind I have this nagging feeling I should upgrade, but at the same time, money is personally tight for me. Need a Miracle honestly.

Dont upgrade just yet probably a windows update causing the problem, also your cpu doesnt need upgrading either especially if money is tight. If you did upgrade the gpu get a 2060 and overclock it. The 2070 is a waste of money and not worth $200 for 15-20% performance increase 1080 is also a waste of money.

Ok, real fast, I did upgraded my CPU for other reasons, OBS, and a few other processing issues. But still, I wonder if my GPU is starting to show it's age with the way it handles some games and streaming.

do you have to restart to fix the black screen, and does your main monitor wake.

No I don't have to restart to wake the monitors. And yeah the PC wakes up when I move the mouse.
