Help with my hard drive

Bobstination
Go to solution Solved by Bobstination,

I found this video that finally fixed the problem for me, however for anyone else looking at the post the first method without the third party software that uses disk manager will DELETE THE DATA on the drive but I was able to back my data up to a separate drive. Thanks for your help though.

I built my PC several months ago and my 3 TB hard drive has always shown only 2 TB for some reason and I've tried to fix it by attempting (and failing) to convert it to a GPT disk (on Windows 10, I didn't specify) the "convert to GPT" disk option is grayed out. I'm wondering if the System Reserved partition on there has to do with anything. Any ideas?

@Bobstination

cmd as admin

MBR2GPT.EXE /disk:0 /convert /allowFullOS
maybe its the unalocated space is why it only shows as 2 tb ;)

image.png.b92f0aa10aa665bf95326b03b1c96949.pngIt doesn't seem to be working, also I've tried to expand the "mass storage" partition to get rid of the unallocated space but that also is grayed out.

@Bobstinationi thik if u remove the /allow full os it should work cant remember its been so long since i had to do it just finding the documentation from microsoft was a pain a few years ago try minitool easy to use or paragon but paragon u will have t make an account also free tho
https://www.partitionwizard.com/download/v11/pw11-free.exe
https://www.paragon-software.com/free/pm-express/#

paragon will resize almost any partition and keep data etc minitool can be funny and doesnt like to do things with partitions it didnt create and that might have data on them
