External power button?

Go to solution Solved by aezakmi,

in the users' mind everything can be done with an USB port, I wonder why

you could go into the BIOS setup and enable the "power on via keyboard" option, that way every time you press return or click the mouse it'll turn on

I have a hp slimline and it is under my desk, I am tired of reaching down to power it on. Does a power button that can be plugged in to a usb port exist?

How about you just don't turn it off?

Just leave it running and turn the monitor off when you're not using it.  When the pc idles, the power consumption is very low, especially for a hp slimline... typically around 30-50 watts. That's around 5-10$ a month in electricity.

This option only works if your Bios has it or you own a Ps/2 keyboard/mouse....
