Need a new GPU

Hey everyone,

 

last year I upgraded my system from an i7 920 (first pc build for me) to the PC I have in bio..

Now I want to upgrade my GPU because the R9 380 is really showing its age. I have a 400-500 € budget.

I might stick with AMD as my monitor has 75 Hz freesync, but in the future I might upgrade to a 34 inches 3440x1440.

Another thing to consider is that in the near future I want to attempt to watercool the system (CPU + GPU).

I've read that now Nvidia supports freesync, is this true only for new RTX 20x0 cards or it also applies to older GTX 10x0 through driver/firmware updates?

Do you think it's worth it to buy a used 1080 - 1080ti instead of the 2070?

And what about the 2060?

Also, the inno3d card you linked me has / will have a waterblock? I know it doesn't make much sense to watercool a midrange GPU (500 € midrange ?) but I absolutely want to make a custom loop water cool system.

I might also wait a bit for the Radeon 7 to come out and buy it once it will be available.

GTX 2070 will be the best choice as consider that you going to upgrade your monitor in future

Hi guys.. sorry for the late reply, a friend of mine just gave me his “old” RX Vega 64 and I couldn’t be happier for how it performs compared to my old r9 380. It can reach about 100 ish FPS in the Witcher 3 with all maxed out ?

So for now I’ll stick with it and I can spend the extra money on a custom loop as that card runs really hot as far as I’ve seen

RTX 2060 is 10000% best card for the money out right now you can play almost any game at 1080p or 1440p and have amazing performance, the RTX 2060 has almost identical performance to GTX 1070ti and the RTX 2060 is only 349$
