Actually I'm using something similar but it doesn't. What specs should I be looking at?

4 sleeves on the aux cord. not 3

Look at the TRRS and find something like that

Hi,

I recently bought a Corsair gaming headset that came with an extra Y cable. So on this Y cable there are two male audio jacks that go into the audio input and output ports of the motherboard. Then there's a female jack on which I plugged the actual headset. Now this works fine but it isn't convenient because I have my PC case on the floor and the cable isn't super long.

For the past weeks I've been using an extra jack extension cable to solve the length (so the extra cable was plugged to the Y cable and the actual headset was plugged to the extension), but only yesterday I noticed that the microphone wasn't recognized with that cable. So now I'd like to know what are my options to have both audio output and input work with an extension cable.

Thanks
