LED backed HT Screen

PatrickCie

Forgive me if this isn’t the proper thread for this topic. Tomorrow I’ll be building a 12’x7’ canvas for my projector. A fun idea I had while I was at it was to make it backlit with LED strips, but the circumferance would be ~ 12 meters around.  Can LED strips be daisy chained together to accomplish that, or would I need multiple drivers?  I was thinking of using Gledopto, since it’s compatible in the Hue ecosystem.

It's possible. You'll need to adjust your power supply accordingly to provide enough current for all the strips. It looks like a single 5m strip will need 12V/3A, so assuming the strips will be in parallel electically when chained, your power supply will need to be able to provide 9 A total if they were to draw their 3 A (since current divides equally in this parallel circuit, while voltage remains the same).
