'Custom' loop on a budget

I wan't to get better thermals so i can get a good overclock on my 2700x, it doesn't instantly lock at 4.2 1.35V but on the stock cooler it runs around 87C, I was looking at some of the swiftech solutions, like the h220, and the EK stuff, but it is so expensive.

 

I don't mind my thermals on my GPU, it runs at 100% around 76C on my current profile.

 

Or should i just get something like a H110i and call it a day? 

 

If i did get the swiftech h220 would it be powerful enough to go through another 120mm rad and a GPU block? 

 

Also air cooling is still a possibility, I just want my computer to be as Aesthetic as possible.

I'd get something like the H110i/Kraken X62 and call it a day. Custom watercooling loops are tricky, take some practice and need maintenance every few months.

Additionally, if you prefer an air cooler, something like the Dark Rock Pro 4 or Noctua NH-D15 (both absolutely massive, check your case).

If you don't plan to watercool your GPU in the future, you're better off saving the money and go with an AIO.

Yeah, if anything i might watercool my card when the next affordable cards come out, i'm not paying $1000 for a 30% +/-  increase from a 1080, if i did decide to watercool the GPU in the future do you think the h220 would be good enough?

I don't think I'd trust these tiny pumps for an extended loop. You might want to look into the Alphacool Eisbaer and Eiswolf line, they have a pump in both the CPU and GPU blocks and can be extended with simple quick connect fiitings.

I would go with the new H240x3 or H360x3 from swifttech for about $150. Then in the future if you decide to cool the gpu you could add another 240mm rad and a gpu block to it and be good to go. That expandable AIO is extremely hard to beat when it comes to value and performance.

Either get a 280mm or 360mm AIO .. OR a Top end Air cooler like a NH-D15 or Dark Rock Pro 4

 

Dont get a 240mm or below AIO.  Not worth it.

I'd love a Dark Rock Pro 4, I just know for a fact it will have clearance issues with my Vengeance LED ram

Could just take the spreaders off the ram. As most say ram doesn’t produce enough heat.

I don't know if that would even work, because of the led's i wouldn't want to risk breaking my ram

It went on, so it can come off. Breaking isn’t something that can be done easily.

I guess i am more worried about breaking the led's, i could probably de-solder it, but then i might as well get some Micron dimms
