Moderators remove posts from feeds for a variety of reasons, including keeping communities safe, civil, and true to their purpose. Hello everyone, I have recently come home to Canada from Europe. I have been waiting for 7 months to get back home and talk to all my friends and relax on my PlayStation but.... it has come to my attention that my password has been changed, and my account has been banned... I have tried calling multiple times, it's either a hang up straight away, a no answer... I have been using that account for over 6 years and have spent almost 1000 dollars on it, but now I have lost everything because some fool decided to hack my account and get it banned. I'm getting no support through a phone call. Does anybody have and suggestions?? I'm about done with PlayStation... Here is my post on r/playstation. Post instantly removed by mods, I legitimately need help. Any suggestions???

So, I have a ps5 and a ps4. I get this issue this on the PlayStation I am online playing a game and using a party chat and get kicked out and get a network issue and get disconnected but still in the online match it has happen with multiple games sometimes not even in game i have cox giga blast. I have called Sony and I have called cox one says it the other and i get am getting nowhere with them so i have ps 5 and 4 hard wired not on Wi-Fi (cox in my ISP). my router is old i think it the R7000p and the modem is the cm 1000. my download speeds are very low according to my ISP speed are around 130 to 140 sometimes 200 and uploads are 30 to 35. but my pc it is 800 to 900 for the downloads and uploads is 30 to 35. hope someone can help me. also, Sony told me that is sounds like it was port issue and the send me some TCP and UDP numbers, but my ISP told that the port is open and that it is not closed and that they do not have access to the anyways

Today my dad called me and asked if I purchased a bunch of stuff on my PSN account, which I hadn't, I have been swamped trying to figure out online schooling for the past few moths and have had 0 time to game, nor the funds to buy new ones. I checked my email and sure enough, over $1k USD of games was purchased in the last 6 days. So I didn't panic. I went to change my password. No dice, I can't log in I can't send myself a change password email, nothing. Still I did not panic. I went to the PSN support site. Spoke with the bot that told me to call or use live chat. I tried calling, was told that due to high call traffic I would not be assisted. It's COVID and a new console just dropped, completely understandable. So I went to the online chat, and the response I got from there, that made me panic. The conversation went as follows: Employee's name is changed and will be referred to as Jim. ______________________________________________________________________________________________ Jim: Thank you for contacting PlayStation, my name is Jim how may I assist you today? Remember: Please do not refresh your screen as it will disconnect the chat session. Thanks! I know that I can dispute the charges on the card but it doesn't appear for there to be an option for me to dispute the ban or reclaim my account. I am honestly heartbroken. 10 years, of friends, clips, games, saves, and achievements, lost? All because I didn't log on for a few months? It doesn't feel right. It's making me feel sick. If this doesn't get resolved I think I may give up on PlayStation. This is the second time my account has been hacked and ever since the major breach back in 2011 I have been super carful with my passwords. I will continue to try calling the phone lines, and I will update the post if anything changes, but everybody: don't leave your emails unattended and change your passwords regularly. TLDR: My PS4 and the PS4 alone has a slow connection making streaming content unwatchable. Last night I tried to troubleshoot an issue I've had over the past couple of days. I typically have used my PS4 for streaming Netflix, Funimation, Crunchyroll etc and for the past 6 months it has worked perfectly for that with hardly if any buffering and I use it over a wired connection (CAT 6). Over the past three days doesn't matter if its Netflix, Funimation, or whatever streaming content is a near impossibility as it buffers constantly to play maybe a second or two of video. Naturally, I wonder if something changed in my connection or if someone is leaching on my bandwidth I log into my router's gateway and checkout all of the devices connected all the MACs checkout nothing unusual to see here. Furthermore, I go ahead and test streaming on my Roku which has a wireless connection in the other room and my PC which has a wired connection and they both perform flawlessly. I perform speedtests on both my PC (wired) and my phone (wireless) and they both check out at 150mbps up and down. This is where things get funny. I do the speedtests on PS4 which is wired and it gets a few mbps at best sometimes I might get an outlier result of 150 down and 700kbps up but it fluctuates with very low speeds of 1mbps to a couple kbps. I tried to set the DNS settings manually on the PS4 to google's servers to no avail. I even called up my ISP (verizon fios) and had the tech try to troubleshoot the issue where he reset my router's connection and IP and it still didn't fix the issue. After all that all of my other devices in the place streams just fine with no speed issues. From all of this it leads me to believe the issue lies with something Sony did or the servers on their end though I really don't know why suddenly this would happen when for the past few months its worked perfectly and all the other devices wired and wireless have a perfectly fine connection. I never go into my router and modify any settings in fact this was the first time i logged into it to see if anything else had been leeching off of my network. If verizon were throttling me i assume it would effect all devices not just the PS4 alone. I just have a standard 150mbps up and down internet plan with no data caps. Didn't know if anyone else has been having issues so I wanted to page the forums.

So I got my PS4 late last night and of course I immediately wanted to get on and play, I have my 14 day free trial and everything. Problem is, I haven't been able to sign in to PSN on my PS4 since 9 pm last night and it's 5pm the next day already. Is anybody else having issues or is it just me? Am I doing something wrong? I don't think I am since it's not that hard to sign in to PSN... so far a pretty crappy experience on PS4 despite high hopes.

Hello, my sister recently contacted me about having trouble connecting to the internet on her PS4 due to NAT Type failure. She is trying to connect wirelessly and she cannot get it to work. What can she do to troubleshoot the problem? She is trying to avoid getting an Ethernet cable but if she has to she will. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

So this is a thing that just kinda randomly started happening to my Xbox One at first. It's really annoying to be playing a game like Mortal Kombat 11 and being in the Towers of Time for example and suddenly disconnecting while you're in the middle of a tower that's about to expire and when you finally reconnect to Xbox Live, which takes about 3 to 5 minutes each time it happens, the tower you were specifically doing is no longer there and has been rotated out with a different one. I've tried several different things to fix this issue: Unplugged the router for about 15 seconds and plugged it back in (thought it was the router causing the issue). Disconnected from my WiFi on Xbox and reconnected to it (heard this apparently works for some people). Cleared the MAC address (this apparently clears the system cache). Deleted my account from my Xbox then signed back into it and redownloaded it (generally what people do after clearing the cache). I have gone to "Port Selection" in "Advanced Settings" and changed the port it was using (though I only changed it once and there were other ports to pick from). I have held down on the power button for 10 seconds to turn it off to hard reset the console. Also my NAT Type is open. Originally I thought this was just an issue with my Xbox, however unfortunately when I had both my PS4 and Xbox One on at the same time, they BOTH disconnected from their online services at the same time. So I figured "OK, it's probably an issue with the router" and I did that first thing I mentioned were I unplugged the router for about 15 seconds and plugged it back in. That didn't do anything. Another thing I've noticed is that my cellphone seems to not be affected by this as it doesn't seem to randomly disconnect from WiFi and my mother and her husband haven't complained about their Amazon FireStick randomly going out either... so I assume it's JUST the Xbox and PS4 doing this, but it's weird that they both do it and it's especially weird that they seem to both do it at the exact same time. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

Sony is going to be cutting ties with it's PlayStation brand and forming a new "separate" company out of the new division. The new company is rumored to be called "Sony Interactive Entertainment LLC" It is to combine Sony computer Entertainment with Sony Network Entertainment and will be led under Andrew House as CEO. No much is said to change, but the company will now have its HQ based in California, and will officially class "April 1st as its first say of business" EDIT: And will have a starting capital of $2 Million Many are speculating this is due to Sony's recent financial struggle, even though its mobile division is not holding strong - Sony is succeeding in other ares such as Cameras and modules which it leases to other smartphone manufactures. People are joking at the fact that Sony can change it's name, but users cannot change their PSN names... My thoughts: Not much to say. They are splitting off profitable segments of their business, probably due to their recent financial issues and having to dispose of some sub-businesses (Just my thought, probably not true) but overall, this shouldn't really affect the mass public for the time being. So some servers going offline today (mainly EA) and Phantom squad says that there taking crap down. What do you think? Connection? Honestly though i think that phantom squad is a fake trying to get more followers and not taking down servers when they said they were going to.

Hey guys, I am hoping to buy PS 4 or Xbox one in the coming month. I am having confusions with PSN and Xbox live support. Currently I am living in Sri Lanka which is not mentioned as a supported country by these two services. Does this mean I wont be able to get these services???

I wasn't a big fan of watching the Super Bowl, so i decided to go an play some Destiny on my PS4, and to my surprise the PSN was down... Again. (Sorry Linus) I am furious, especially since they began to start charging a subscription fee since the launch of the PS4. I would much rather have a better network service as opposed to spending it on giving away big name titles. What have been your thoughts on the quality of the PSN service recently?

(Just in case the it's true, better safe than sorry.) In April 2011 Sony’s Playstation Network was hacked. Sony took down their servers for quite some time to rebuild and make them “safer”. Now in 2014, it has happened again. The Playstation Network along with 2K Games and Windows Live seems to have been hacked by the hacker group DerpTrolling and they claim to have 7 million logins and 500 000 credit card information. So I haven't been able to play FIFA 15 online after the 2.0 firmware update. After the 2.01 update I thought it was fixed, because I could play one game, But I lost the connection to PSN during the game. Now it is still impossible to play online, the store is updated however. Has anyone else got the same problem as me?

well well well what do we have here a psn problem right before the scheduled maintenance maybe play station decided to start the maintenance sooner maybe there is another group of hackers,doing what hackers do best, hacking into psn just like the 2012 incident where psn was shut down for 24 long days. Ok, ive heard many a people say that XBL is much better than PSN. Now ive only had limited experience with XBL, so not enough to base a solid opinion of it on. Can someone substantiate the claims that it is superior by saying something other than "it's just better", because honestly i think people are either fanboying or full of it most of the time when they say that. I'm sure some discussion about XBL Gold and PS+ can also be had.
