controllerxbox Can You Play Far Cry 1 With a Series X Controller?
Just_Landon posted a topic in PC Gaming
Today I wanted to play Far Cry 1 with a controller. So I looked up if I could online, and as It turns out you can! So I tried to with my new Xbox Series X controller. But for some reason it won't work. My assumption is that Far Cry 1 doesn't recognize the newer controller drivers, but I'm unsure. Does Windows treat all xbox controllers different, or is my game not detecting it for another reason?- 3 replies

Good morning/afternoon all, I just booted up one of the great games of my youth, Far Cry 1, to run it maxed out on my modern rig, to find it has a terrible stutter issue. I ran performance metrics through RivaTuner and found no component of my PC is even close to maxing out and am unaware what might be the issue. I tried running the game both on a regular monitor with vsync, and without vsync, and on a g-sync monitor however nothing has made a difference. I later downloaded the mod listed here https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/442-far-cry-amd64-64-bit-upgrade-patch/ due to having an AMD CPU, and I feel this made a slight improvement however nothing good enough to make the game enjoyable when playing. Due to the games 'age' is there anything I am missing? Thanks

So I bought far cry 4 gold edition a little more than 2 years ago, but have never been able to play it past the prologue. I go through the support multiple times with the same result... them being completely useless and thinking my computer is 100% at fault. The problem I run into is that the game will allow me to play through the prologue but as the screen fades black to transition to the next level it just stay on the black screen, even when left for hours it doesnt change. Now Ubisoft support seems to think that my PC is at fault. When ive tried on over 5 different PCs, each meeting the requirements. When going through all my windows error files none are related to far cry 4 when they insist that a driver incident that I had 3 days ago is the problem with the game when I installed it today. They also like to blame that I run with Integrated and Dedicated GPU at the same time, (I-GPU are for secondary monitors while dedicated is for my main monitor and the one i game on). Any ideas? Okay, i know its an old game but I still wanna play it... BUT!!! I need to know that can I use my Logitech G502 with Logitech's Gaming software (see picture) to play Far Cry? I remember an issue i had when trying to play GTA San Andreas (yes GTA SA from 2004) last year wear the game worked perfectly except for the fact i could not use my mouse because the game only gets input from windows and not directly from the mouse or the gaming software. i wanna know is this inherintly a problem some has had with older games from that period or is it something that i can not worry about on Far Cry? Please dont be a troll and ask me why i wanna play an old game when i could just get the latest Far Cry. I played Far Cry many years ago and i wanna play it again. simple as that.

I just started playing Far Cry 3 (again) on my laptop (Win7 64bit, i5 4th gen, 2GB RAM, Intel integrated graphics) on low settings. But the audio stopped as soon as the opening scene got over-the one with the parachutes and all. As soon as the guy pulls the phone/tablet away the audio stops, and npo subtitles are seen. The characters' lips move, but no sound. There are NO IN GAME SOUNDS, NO BACKGROUND NOISE, FOOTSTEPS OR ANYTHING. All help is appreciated. And yes. The game does run at a good 45-50 FPS, and with no lags or stutters and is fairly smooth and playable. But no audio whatsoever. PLEASE HELP.

I got into far cry 2 recently , at first I was skeptical of the survival systems like weapon degradation and malaria but after a while I actually started to like it and now I'm hooked. But there are some aspects of the game that I don't like such as the mission structure , commonality of outposts in the middle of the road , plain world with little elevation , e.t.c. So I was thinking of going back to fc3/4 and just install a weapon degradation mod , i'm sure there is one . . . AAAAAND NOPE. I couldn't find anything on the Nexus or any forum . . . is anyone aware of such a mod ? I know that most people didn't like the idea of weapons breaking in your hands in the middle of a fire fight but I think it encourages more reserved tactics and less ramboing all over the place . There must be SOMEONE who agrees . . . right ?

Recently when I went to play Far Cry 4, it would just kept crashing on startup. I read online that by disabling Uplay's ingame overlay it would remove the bug, but this did not help. The situation got stranger and even more annoying when I realized that Far Cry 3 and Assassin's creed Black Flag, both games that I have bought through Steam but for some annoying reason require Uplay, would not start either (note: Watch_Dogs, which was bought on Steam and uses Uplay does work). I have tried verifying the files but I still run into the same issue. Does anyone know of any fixes for this? Specs: i7 4790k GTX 980 8Gb Kingston Hyper X Fury

So here is the problem i'm getting : Its a weird box shadow thing,That is really bugging me,You can see what I mean in the picture below Is there a fix for this?

So, we already have a bit of buzz going on about Far Cry Primal, having some trouble. Nothing too terribly out of character these days for a Ubisoft title. But wait, there's more, you may want popcorn, or a barf bag. Far Cry 4 map Far Cry Primal map That looks a bit too similar to be coincidence in my opinion. This is just..... how lazy can a company get? Source: http://www.gamepressure.com/e.asp?ID=563 ***IMPORTANT NOTE: The two games take place on different continents. One in Asia, one in Europe.***

dear people out there, every time I play FC3, after about 20 minutes, it tells me FC3 has stopped working. My drivers are up to date and I use windows 10. It would be really nice if someone knows how to solve this problem.

Ubisoft appears to be considering both of these options - and several others - according to a recent survey that polled Far Cry fans on where a future game should be set. The poll asked players to select their three preferred locations for a possible Far Cry follow up. Here's the full list of potential places: A Far Cry game in remote Alaska about surviving extreme wilderness A Far Cry game in a futuristic, sci-fi setting on another planet A Far Cry game set in the Vietnam war during the 1960s A Far Cry game set in the cocaine trafficking jungles of Peru A Far Cry game where you can fight against or join vampires A Far Cry game in the Spaghetti Western style set in the late 19th century Americas A Far Cry game that is set during a zombie outbreak Blood Dragon 2: A sequel to Blood Dragon with more Rex Power Colt A Far Cry game set in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world A Far Cry game in the present day on a Jurassic Park style island of dinosaurs A Far Cry game based on the world of Shangri-La from Far Cry So, how likely is it that any of this will come true? Well, Ubisoft has a long history of polling Assassin's Creed fans in exactly the same manner - which year on year proves to be a fairly decent steer on what's next in the pipeline. Back in 2010, Ubisoft quizzed fans on various features that would be found in Assassin's Creed: Revelations - a year ahead of that game coming out. A 2011 survey on future AC settings included the American Revolution (announced shortly afterwards for AC3) and the Victorian Empire (due next year in the recently-leaked AC: Victory). 2012 saw Ubisoft poll the public on the implementation of co-op - which was added to the series the following year in AC: Unity. Finally, last year's survey mentioned a pirating game without an Assassin protagonist - something which sounds a lot like AC: Rogue, also released last year - as well as entering buildings seamlessly (another Unity feature). Everyone knows that the intense, advanced modern games of today require huge amounts of processing power in order to offer the incredible, immersive and cinematic gameplay experiences that they offer. If you didn't realise when I said 'cinematic', that was satire. This is a guide I'm making to show that FarCry 4 can be run on a dual core system with more than sufficient performance that offers a good gameplay experience. The first step in this process is to get the game working. In order to do this you'll need to inject a .dll into the FC4 executable when it starts. I'll link all files at the bottom of this post. Now, with the files you have downloaded and unzipped, you should see this: Run the 'Extreme Injector V3' executable. If it isn't already, you'll need to organise the .dll files in this order specifically, which you can do by adding and removing them: Then, just run FarCry 4 and hit 'Inject' the moment you start it. You need to do it while the splash screen is still up, otherwise it might not work. Once it works, the game should be running! Woo! Now, for the performance numbers I get on my PC, which I would consider a mid-to-low spec system. As a forenote, I did consider using Fraps, but decided against it and just kept an eye on my numbers as I played as to give general, but more realistic numbers. My specs: CPU: Penitum G3258 @ 4.4ghz GPU: Asus GTX 760 DCUII OC @ Stock (Not a good OC'er) I'm also using a 1080p monitor (Asus VE248H) For the different scenarios, I just looked at a wall for 'looking at a wall', then I ran in circles and jumped around a small outpost for 'Running around', and for 'In a firefight' I ran into an enemy outpost and went full retard with an assault rifle. I also didn't test the high and very-high settings as I didn't think it was really worth it. I don't think there's enough of a difference between med, high and very-high to worry about it. Low: (Game looks like absolute ass, no AA, near no shadows.) -Looking at a wall: About 61-62 -Running around: Mostly high 40's (Pretty much the same as med settings.) -In a firefight: Mid 40's. Med: (looks alright now, still no AA) -Looking at a wall: High 50's -Running around: Around 50, down to mid 40's. -In a firefight: High 30's to low 40's. Ultra: (Looks darker and more bland, plus the HBAO+ contrast is too damn high.) -Looking at a wall: Low to mid 50's -Running around: Average around the 40's, dips down to mid 30's. -In a firefight: 30's with the occasional dip into 20's. So, it seems that as you increase in quality, the max fps lowers by a few fps, but the amount that the fps dips during more intense scenes increases substantially. Thanks to @SkilledRebuilds from whom I borrowed the multifile link from. Turns out that Skidrow actually made this crack, so kudos to him for that. More of his cracks and other such things over at his site, which is about his (Skidrows) game cracks, which you might even call SkidrowGames. Which could be a network (.net) site. #TechnicallynotbreakingtheCOC

Ubisoft keeps digging! Ubisoft removed there upcoming games from Steam. Probably they want to push Uplay. What are you thinking about this? Source: http://www.polygon.com/2014/11/6/7170359/assassins-creed-unity-far-cry-4-pc-pulled-from-steam

Sorry if this is a re-post, been off the internet for a while. FarCry 4 has been put up for pre-order on amazon (PS4 only) Comes with all that pre-order bull "you get this, you get that" ect ect. Release date: This item will be released on November 18, 2014. Description seems to be vague and just a hype train sort of thing Apart from that there all hush hush. No screens that i can find ect. Cover art looks boss Another site says that it will be coming to all platforms on this date: Sources: http://www.polygon.com/2014/5/15/5720668/far-cry-4-release-date http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KAED850?pf_rd_p=1810596762&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-2&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_i=468642&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=068TSZBJ4MJ0P74MWV8Q&ref_=acs_ux_hsb_5s_2_m_VG-HP

So recently I decided that I wanted to get a r9 270 since it is a bit better and cheaper than a gtx 660, but now after seeing what nvidia did with watch dogs and how they are now also doing the same with the crew, assassins creed, far cry 4, and I'm sure many other ubisoft games, I think it might be better to get a gtx 660. What would you guys go with? Thanks for the help!

I for one think that if Far Cry stayed with Crytek then not only would Crytek not be broke, but the Far Cry series would probably have the maturity level of The Witcher series. If Crytek kept Far Cry they would be more focused on PC and mature content not taken to by the "pot-head swag" detriments to society audience that Ubisoft is catering to, not saying no PC gamers are pot heads and not saying all console users are, but look at the majorities.

So now that we have seen what Far Cry 4 and GTA 5 will look like on the PC, (Which personally, I think look amazing) what do you guys think the minimum specs will be for each game? Keep in mind for GTA 5 the graphics have been improved, more vehicles and more AI + wildlife certainly adds more bulk to the game. Not to mention if you plan on modding it or maybe if it ever comes out like it did with GTA 4, the iCEnhancer mod, making the graphics into GTA 6...
