Today my dad called me and asked if I purchased a bunch of stuff on my PSN account, which I hadn't, I have been swamped trying to figure out online schooling for the past few moths and have had 0 time to game, nor the funds to buy new ones. I checked my email and sure enough, over $1k USD of games was purchased in the last 6 days. So I didn't panic. I went to change my password. No dice, I can't log in I can't send myself a change password email, nothing. Still I did not panic. I went to the PSN support site. Spoke with the bot that told me to call or use live chat. I tried calling, was told that due to high call traffic I would not be assisted. It's COVID and a new console just dropped, completely understandable. So I went to the online chat, and the response I got from there, that made me panic. I know that I can dispute the charges on the card but it doesn't appear for there to be an option for me to dispute the ban or reclaim my account. I am honestly heartbroken. 10 years, of friends, clips, games, saves, and achievements, lost? All because I didn't log on for a few months? It doesn't feel right. It's making me feel sick. If this doesn't get resolved I think I may give up on PlayStation. This is the second time my account has been hacked and ever since the major breach back in 2011 I have been super carful with my passwords. This is the 2nd; vastly improved methodology testing round of using household things as thermal interface material. Variables have been removed and some major changes have been made, as detailed below. Voltage; In this round of testing, voltage was locked close to the stock voltage of this CPU [I5 3570K] at 1120 millivolts. At times this voltage rose to 1128 millivolts, as measured by a multimeter. Cooler; In this round, the stock Skylake cooler has been replaced by a Corsair H55, While the TIM is what we're testing, the water heating until equilibrium should be negligible, as well these tests took place back to back, so the water never cooled beyond the initial 20 heat test conducted with commercial TIM. IHS TIM; This CPU was delidded and had it's stock TIM replaced, for better or for worse, it now has the same TIM as was tested, Jetart Nano Diamond. This was just a paste I bought at a local store and is currently what is in use, it is competent. Test; This test was conducted using all 4 threads of Prime 95 small FFT, for 10 minutes, with a few minutes of before and after. This is very close to before. Results; Graphs have been provided of arbitrary CPU temps as read out by MSI Afterburner, as well as the Min/Max of the coolest and hottest core, on this CPU it was always the 3rd core, for both. Dead Components; This test did claim a victim, my [already faulty] Maximus V Formula has now been rendered very unstable but this, and will be definitely be recycled, If you want it for your wall or what ever, message me and I'll ship you the board [you pay p&p], but remember it's not really working and not repairable, I even washed it to finish the tests. Body Fluids Tests; NOPE, never again, I stopped after the 3rd one, not viable, I won't ever be doing them again. Methodology; Methodology is simple, MSI Afterburner will be used to take a screenshot of arbitrary CPU temps, Realtemp will be used to show max core temps, and throttling. Prime95 small FFT on all 4 cores will be used to generate heat. A Corsair H55 will be used as the cooler, with Push/Pull 120mm corsair fans, the motherboard is an ROG Maximus V Formula. The CPU is an i5 3570K at stock clocks, voltage locked at 1.12v (it's stock varies between 1.096 and 1.112). The RAM, Video Card, HDD and PSU are somewhat irreverent, so I won't list them. Test will run for 10 minutes OR until 2 cores thermal throttle together, 3 cores at any one point throttle, or the CPU permanently throttles to under 3GHz (stock turbo boost is 3.6GHz) The test method has been massively updated and the unrealistic 1.4volt on a skylake stock cooler are gone, in favour of this set up, with temp graphs for the 10 minutes. Actual Results CONTROL, Jetart Nano Diamond, Tests 1 and 2 Test one Pass, H=74°C, L=27°C Normal thermal compound passed fine, this CPU was delitted and uses this compound under the IHS. This is the control, repeated twice Test two Pass, H=74°C, L=28°C second test was consistent with first test. Nothing (no TIM) Pass, H=103°C, L=33°C Not as bad as I thought it would be, I unpowered the pump for a moment to see if it was working, the temp rose on the hottest core from 98 to 103, it still got to 101-103 at highes. Petroleum Jelly Pass, H=81°C, L=27°C Test was only 9 minutes, calculation error. This works well but not quite as good, but grease is sometimes part of TIM, so maybe petroleum grease is close. Bleach Pass, H=77°C, L=27°C Chlorine might be a good conductor of heat in this form, but the corrosion was visible even from this just 12 minutes, do NOT use. 24 Karat gold leaf, Tests 1 and 2 Test Tne Pass, H=77°C, L=32°C *I think I selected the blend of tests for this one* This test, while not reflected in the min/max, was better than the actual TIM in test 1, this is probably because of Gold's thermal conductivity and maluability. Average score was really good Test Two Pass, H=91°C, L=29°C I suspect I selected the blend first time by mistake. Gold work hardens, I used the same sheet, so it's possible that was also a contributing factor in the poor performance. Fairy Washing liquid Pass, H=78°C, L=31°C performed alright, not much to say. Lithium Axle Grease Pass, H=92°C, L=32°C slow temp rise was of concern, might not be the greatest. PVA Glue Pass, H=78°C, L=30°C I bet this will be fun to clean off the CPU [it was indeed a pain]...... For this reason I wouldn't advise this. AquaFresh Toothpaste Pass, H=79°C, L=33°C Classic one that get's quoted a lot, not actually that great it seems Sensodyne Strontium Toothpaste Pass, H=79°C, L=28°C* Room temperature fell substantially for a moment (I had to open a window due to glue being spill), results not affected as I waited for the room to heat back up. Visible in graph Baking Soda and Both Toothpasts Fail, H=105°C, L=27°C DNF. Room temperature is still a little lower. After almost 10 minutes, clocks fell to 2990MHz, after throttling to 3000-3200GHz, and did not rise after 2 updates. absolute fail. WD40 Pass, H=103°C, L=31°C One single core, for less than a second, hit 103, but this is an isolated incident, the coolest core idle is also the hottest under load. Thermal Pad Fail, H=105°C, L=43°C DNF. Test was attempted 3 times, each time throttling caused under 3GHz, and was instantaneous. These pads are very silicon like, more like a dry thermal pad, I'm not 100% if they are, I'll look into it. Shaving Foam Pass, H=80°C, L=29°C what can I say, these all seem to work well... Bodily Fluids..... Ew Out of three tests, two caused a CPU socket short and controlled shutdown. This result in the permanent instability at booting of this board. I actually washed it with WD40 followed by soapy water to try and remove urine and semen traces from the CPU pins, it did end up posting after fiddling, but each boot requires find the DIMM slot that actually works this time. Saliva This is the only 100% and verified test. Pass, H=81°C, L=28°C Nope, these are kinda gross, but they're only going get worse. Urine...... DNF, Lose of data urine seeped into socket pins, causing controlled shutdown, will not be reattempting Semen DNF, Lose of data ew, no. Fun to get, but caused a short in the socket after becoming less viscous... Required a complete socket clean and probably bricked this board, what was left of it, and again, ew I have been up now for close to 14 hours with this, I'm going to bed, please don't hate this too much, A hell of a lot of work, and the third test will introduce a temperature stable environment and a new CPU/Board combo, as well as different thermal interface materials to test, mostly chemicals, metals, and other stuff that I have to sign to get, maybe, it might be hard to actually test it.

Greetings forum. Please help, I'm reaching the point that I might consider just buying a new pc at this point. So my problem is as follows. My computer freezes. Times are a bit random but it's every 30 min or so. Freezes up for a good 15 seconds where I can't do anything, the sound still works though. If I'm in a game, game and everything will freeze but I can still chat on discord. Weird I know. So this happened when I upgraded my pc. I got a new power supply (antec eag 550w gold standard), ssd (Kingston 480gb) and lastly graphics card (second hand gtx 1070 Asus dual OC). So I tried reinstalling windows, this helped but not a lot. It reduced the frequency of freezes. I then upgraded ALL, my drivers. No help. After this I tried running all the diagnostics I could. Hard drive sentinel came back with nothing. Malwarebytes, came back with nothing. Tried resetting the vbios on graphics card, again, nothing. Only thing I noticed was whenever it would freeze, the Gpu usage would drop to 0%. Now since this card was second hand and previously used for mining I thought maybe it was that and after trying to troubleshoot everything else my only thought is it has to he the gpu. So I replaced it. Bought a new xfx Rx590 fat boy. Placed it in pc, installed drivers and boom! It happened again. I don't know where to go now. What could be the problem at this point. can i go over 60 fps in far cry 4 with a 60 hz monitor ? no matter v sync is on or off fps is not showing more than 60 . what can i do ? using msi afterburner . graphics card r9 270 x .

Not sure whats going on but i just bought a GTX Titan X and i was upgrading from two 970's that had stuttering issues. and from what it seems like is the two 970's actually outperform the Titan X in almost every scenario except for 4K benchmarks and game play. For example when i play Far Cry 4 on ultra settings 1080p i would get around 100-130 fps with no AA on with the 970's. With the same settings on the Titan X i seem to be getting 60-70??? What am i doing wrong? A $1000 GPU should dominate. I feel like i'm messing something up but i'm not sure what it is. I just downloaded far cry 4 using a free game code from Nvidia and I can't get the full screen mode to work. I first tried changing it in game and when I set it to full screen, the game would ask me if the settings were okay. I would click accept but the game would still display in windowed mode. Trying to change to borderless stretched the screen way far out to where half of the items were off the screen. Then I tried changing it using the optimize feature in Geforce experience and the game still wouldn't display full screen. I'm running at native resolution (1920 X 1080), and I set the aspect ratio to 16:9, so I don't think it's an automated response to an inability of the game engine to compress the pixels. My rig is as follows, if you think it's a hardware problem. Mobo: MSI z97 G55 SLI GPU: Gigabyte GTX 780 GHZ edition Storage: 2X corsair SG 128 GB SSD in RAID 0 and a WD 1 TB black drive CPU: Intel i5 4690K @ stock speed PSU: Corsair HX 850W RAM: 4 X 4GB Kingston HyperX 1600MHZ CL9 Thank you in advance for the help.

i can't fit in my new liquid cooler... there is no way it can fit... my motherboard has heatsinks small ones i think for microschemes , and ram slot, i can install radiator because of them... ill try return it to shop... because i have rights Europian Union rights says that any thing i bought from shot can be returned during 14 days. Everyone knows that the intense, advanced modern games of today require huge amounts of processing power in order to offer the incredible, immersive and cinematic gameplay experiences that they offer. If you didn't realise when I said 'cinematic', that was satire. This is a guide I'm making to show that FarCry 4 can be run on a dual core system with more than sufficient performance that offers a good gameplay experience. The first step in this process is to get the game working. In order to do this you'll need to inject a .dll into the FC4 executable when it starts. I'll link all files at the bottom of this post. Now, with the files you have downloaded and unzipped,you should see this: Run the 'Extreme Injector V3' executable. If it isn't already, you'll need to organise the .dll files in this order specifically, which you can do by adding and removing them: Then, just run FarCry 4 and hit 'Inject' the moment you start it. You need to do it while the splash screen is still up, otherwise it might not work. Once it works, the game should be running! Woo! Now, for the performance numbers I get on my PC, which I would consider a mid-to-low spec system. As a forenote, I did consider using Fraps, but decided against it and just kept an eye on my numbers as I played as to give general, but more realistic numbers. My specs: CPU: Penitum G3258 @ 4.4ghz GPU: Asus GTX 760 DCUII OC @ Stock (Not a good OC'er) I'm also using a 1080p monitor (Asus VE248H) For the different scenarios, I just looked at a wall for 'looking at a wall', then I ran in circles and jumped around a small outpost for 'Running around', and for 'In a firefight' I ran into an enemy outpost and went full retard with an assault rifle. I also didn't test the high and very-high settings as I didn't think it was really worth it. I don't think there's enough of a difference between med, high and very-high to worry about it. Low: (Game looks like absolute ass, no AA, near no shadows.) -Looking at a wall: About 61-62 -Running around: Mostly high 40's (Pretty much the same as med settings.) -In a firefight: Mid 40's. Med: (looks alright now, still no AA) -Looking at a wall: High 50's -Running around: Around 50, down to mid 40's. -In a firefight: High 30's to low 40's. Ultra: (Looks darker and more bland, plus the HBAO+ contrast is too damn high.) -Looking at a wall: Low to mid 50's -Running around: Average around the 40's, dips down to mid 30's. -In a firefight: 30's with the occasional dip into 20's. So, it seems that as you increase in quality, the max fps lowers by a few fps, but the amount that the fps dips during more intense scenes increases substantially. DMC As An Arena Fighter & MODS. I just want to know what someone would think if Ninja Theory/Capcom decided to release an arena style fighting game, but in the same exact fashion there single player game is. Hey guys, I was just wondering if you ran Far Cry 3 on Ultra + HDAO + Enhanced Alpha to Coverage, would it run faster on DX11 or DX9 ? For me personally ( and I found this to be quite surprising) the game runs slightly faster with DX11 (68FPS as compared to 62FPS). This was running on an HD 7970 + an FX 8320 @ 4.4Ghz. For some reason Anti Aliasing doesn't work with the DX9 Farcry3.exe so I disabled it on both benchmarks.

Hey guys, my brother just got all the parts for his new system and I've been helping him put it all together. The build was fun and the system sprung to life immediately the first time we hit the power button. There's one major issue though, and that is the GPU. He bought an R9 280X from ASUS, the DirectCU II model. For some reason they sent him an older rev.1 triple-slot-model, I don't think that matters though. The problem is that the thing is getting him insanely low fps in FC3. We havn't been able to try any other games yet, but he's getting an average of maybe 19-25 fps at 1080p and at ultra settings. Another weird thing is that he gets about the same fps when playing the game at 720p with low settings. I updated the drivers to the newest beta drivers, downgraded them to the ones that came on the CD again, nothing helps, it doesn't seem to be the drivers. Unigine Heaven runs at normal speed though, which makes me think it may not be the graphics card after all. Does anybody have any idea how to fix this? The system is: i5 4670 R9 280X 8GB 1600 mhz DDR3 120 GB Samsung 840 EVO SSD Gigabyte H87M-D3H PS: the card is running at around 60°C under load, I don't think it's throttling or anything.

Hi LTT, I just got Far Cry 3 from the autumn steam sale, really excited to play it but the game crashes on start up. I hit play in steam, which opens uplay, and the far cry 3 splash screen appears. Then i get a "Far Cry 3 has stopped working" dialog box. At one point I got an error message regarding memory, but that was a one time occurrence. I'm running windows 8 on an i7 4770k, 16gb memory, and a 760. When googling the problem, the most common solution was to use the divx9 .exe rather than the dix11 .exe (that shouldn't be a problem for me, plus it didn't work). Another solution was to make sure that the game, steam, and uplay were all on the same drive (typically the C drive). But i have the game, steam, and uplay all installed on a second hard drive... and all my other games have run fine (battlefield, gta, cs, mirrors edge, TF2, etc.). Has anyone here had this issue? Does anyone have any possible solutions? I'm trying to get in contact with steam support, but they keep sending me to ubisoft. - Also I have re-installed uplay and made sure my drivers were up to date. I could re-install the game and see how that works out, but most people said this did not solve the problem.

As this has always been my go to place for help, I have been having a major issue with my graphics card. I just got Far Cry 3 and the only way I can get the frame rate above 30 fps is if it is on the lowest settings. This has to be a problem since this card runs pretty much everything else on ultra, at at least 50 fps. Is this a known issue that has an easy solution? Just haven't been able to find an answer online that works... My pc specs: AMD FX 8350 Radeon HD 7970 8gb Ram
