So ive upgraded the following in a PC i built in 2019 - RAM: from 16Gb 3000mhz to 32 GB 3200 Mhz - Running at 3000mhz cuz Mobo doesnt support - CPU cooler: Wraith prism broke after 3 years, installed Deepcool's AK400 - Storage Memory: Had Hard Disk 2TB which the PC doesnt work without now. Additional M.2 samsung 980 1TB, Corsair 500Gb Sata, Samsung 860 Evo M.2 Sata (was scammed) - GPU: Powercolor Red Devil RX 580 GB to Gigabyte Windforce x3 RTX 4060ti 8GB (for $250) All case fans changed. only thing left that i haven't changed in CPU and Mobo. The issue with Mobo is, its PCIE 3.0 So my GPU is not running to full potential, Same with Samsung 980, running slower than it should. Ram running at 3000 instead of 3200 (and even when ive forced it to Run at 3000 by manual clocking, its still slow to startup)

Hello, I have only built a few PCs and I need to sell or give to relative one of my older rigs and move on. Just not sure which to keep. I was going to put all my better parts into one rig and get rid of the other. So.... Should I keep my Ryzen 2700X or the newer Ryzen 3600? I only game and do regular day to day stuff on my PC.

Budget (including currency): $400-500 USD (or more, depends) Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Escape from Tarkov, Vermintide 2, etc, OBS, Streaming/Recording Other details So this morning I found out the Micro Centers nearby across the State border have the 5600x and 5800x Ryzen CPU’s in stock. They’re much cheaper than I can find online but the problem is it’s about a 2 to 2 1/2 hour drive depending on which store I visit in Chi-town. (I guess there’s two) I currently have a Ryzen 7 2700x, in an Asus Prime x470-Pro motherboard, 16gb’s of DDR4 3200mhz RAM, and an EVGA 1070 SC GPU with a 600 watt 80 Plus White EVGA PSU, gaming at 2560x1080 resolution UW 75hz LG monitor. I would rather upgrade my GPU first to a 3070 or 3080 if I can find one there, so a bonus part of this trip would be checking for GPU’s as soon as they open for a restock of any graphics cards. (No chance, I know) I spent all night talking to a friend online about how my 1070 should be getting more frames and that it’s my CPU bottlenecking me right now for games like Tarkov, especially while trying to stream, etc. So my question is since I can’t find CPU’s online for a decent price that are IN stock, and Micro Center has at least 17-25 units of the 5600x right now for $299 , would that be worth making the trip to buy as an upgrade for my system since I can’t upgrade the GPU currently (I wasn’t one of the fast ones when the Verified Actual Gamer Program went live, attempts were made). Or when I get there would buying a 5800x for obo $430 be more worthwhile as an upgrade from the 2700x I have right now? I also know I need to upgrade my PSU at some point so as an added bonus maybe they would have a decently priced power supply, though finding one in the LTT A-Tier list I’m not so sure about. Thanks for any insight or advice!

Hi, over the past month after swicthing from stock cooler to the Kraken M22 my temps av just been really unstable. Specs: Mobo: Asus ROG Strix x470-F Gaming CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x Alt Cpu: Ryzen 7 2700x RAM: 32GB 3200Mhz HyperX DDR4 GPU: Asus RTX 3070 Twin OC PSU: CM V750 750WATT Case: NZXT H500 AIO: Kraken M22 So the last couple of days Ive been notatting temps for diff actions and the number are pretty wired. Boot to bios and the temps read 71C Doing nothin at desktop (only with HWinfo up) and the temps read everything from 35C to 72C (not been taking an avrg from there sadly.) No actions except Google chrome and the avg temp is 70C+ Running a game like pes 2020 and the temps hit max at 90C++ Undervolting doesnt seem to help either. Turning of boost helps by an avrg of 5C Any tips?

Upgrading from a 2700x to a 5600x and besides a bios update (ASUS TUF x570 plus), what other steps should I take on the software side in windows before install? I know a GPU driver clean is suggested when upgrading your GPU (not like anybody is doing that now). Thanks for any advice. Chef

Hello i really need help, i can seem to find the issue on my computer, i am just finnished installing a watercooling loop on my pc with hydro x waterblock and and bykski waterblock on my GPU (none others was made for gigabyte 3070ti oc gaming) after the bleeding of the system and erverything the build looks perfect just the very small airbubbles that need to get out after time. The Cpu is jumping wierd one sec it is 32C and the next is it 48C TMPIN0 that is the other to is stable at 30-36C the max it has been is 68 under load soo not too high but still, you get a little nervious when you rebuild the componets in the system. i tryed to reseat the waterclock on it and added new thermal paste but no difference sadly. The GPU is running cool at 26C to a max of 60C i have seen under load, so it perfect. BUT when i was gaming the computer suddenly just blacks outs and you cant do anything, the reset not work or the power button, the only thing that helps is turning the PSU off. So my first idea was that the PSU is to small it was a 750w bronze so i got a 1000w platium so i was sure it could handle whatever i throw at it, plus i wanted it but the same problem happened yesterday under Aurus autoscan on the GPU. i am nearly out of options why it does it. before i went to bed i gave it a bios flash. gpu all up to date can it be that i am using to much power ton the single Pci-e cable that i need to plug 2 seprate cables in insted of using the splitter on the same cable? the system. 2700x Ryzen CPU 2x g.skill 3200mhz 8gb Corsair Hx1000 PSU Gigabyte 3070ti oc gaming Hydro series X XC7 pro ek quantum inertia waterpump Windows 10 360 radiator and a 120 radiator

My Ryzen 7 2700x currently uses the air cooler “Wraith Prism” Is there a 'much better' air color? And I would need one CHEAPER THAN $75 (OBVIOUSLY O.B.O IS OKAY). Any URLs or Model # or discussion would be very helpful. Thanks and may God bless you and your entire ancestry.

Here are the two things that I need to consider if the AIO cooler 240mm will fit inside the computer, the Case and MOBO, they are listed here: CASE: CORSAIR CARBIDE 275R Computer Case, Black Model# CC-9011132-WW Motherboard: GIGABYTE X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING I need a 240mm AIO Liquid Cooler, I wanted the one that will keep my now old 2700x Air Cooled MUCH cooler, but I am not into Overclocking, but I would like a 60-80 FPS in all the famous games. I especially like Simulation games. So for a budget between $99 to $120 would someone recommend a few, bank for your buck, AIO 240mm liquid coolers that would meet my needs?? Also would be going from 2700x to 3600/3700x/3700x be faster, like aloud me saying 'Good God that is so much faster"? Thanks to all who read this and to all who offer an old man some advice.

Hi All, I am running an AMD/Nvidia based system with below config. My CPU/GPU temps usually within the normal range for the system build that I have but I was just wondering if there is a way to lower them further. My primary reason for doing it is because I have noticed that my room with the setup is warmer than the other rooms in my house. System Config: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X GPU: MSI RTX 3070 Gaming X trio AIO: NZXT Kraken X63 (280mm, mounted to the top of the case with fans setup for exhaust) Case: lian-li lancool 205 Case Fans: Bitspower Touchaqua Notos( 2 Intake in the front, 1 exhaust in the back) Idle Temps: CPU 34-39 C GPU 48-52 C Working: CPU 38-44 C GPU 50-56 C Gaming: CPU 46-48 C GPU 54-58C Room Temp: 22 C Thanks in advance. Welp I think my RAM died because my PC won't boot, when it boots I can't use XMP (ram stuck @2133 and will restart 3 times before resetting speed to 2133) and when I login to windows it says "8.1GB Reserved for hardware". How am I sure my RAM is dead? the moment I remove the dead stick it boots immediately and with the rated speed of 3600 and no "hardware reserved" BS, also tried different stick and it runs fine and even OC'ed a little bit. Now what really make this a confusing problem is my friend had the same issue one stick died but the other is working the only similarity between our rigs is we're both using Gigabyte motherboards (mine is X570 AORUS Pro WiFi and his is X470 AORUS Gaming 5 WiFi both are rev 1.0), I do have instability with electricity but my PC is connected to a power regulator (my friend too but his was not using it when it happened to him and his electricity is more "stable" than mine). My kit is G.Skill F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX and uses SK Hynix chips, the other kit is Team Group ELITE PLUS tpd48g2400hc16bk also uses SK Hynix.

I recently Upgraded my CPU to 5900X replacing the 2700x Setup: MB: ASUS x470 Pro RAM: 64 GB Noctua D15 Cooler NZXT C750 PSU Now I am left with the 2700x CPU, and I want to build a system for my son, that he can use for his college. So the Question: What MB can I buy today that can support the 2700x and also maybe the 3000 or even the 5000 series for when he can buy the CPU and upgrade himself... I can buy the ASUS X470 again, but that is coming to be around $199, and I know there have to be some better options. He would be using the PC for school work and gaming.

Hi guys, I'm currently running a ryzen 7 2700x with a gtx 1060 and an nvme ssd on a asrock B450 Pro. I want to upgrade my system with a 10gb/s networkcard (https://www.asus.com/networking-iot-servers/wired-networking/all-series/xg-c100c/), but i appear to have run out of PCIE lanes (the 2700x has 16+4 PCIE lanes). Is there a easy way for me to use my gpu and networkcard at the same time and do i have to look for something specific when i install the cards? thanks in advance

I just recently purchased Cyberpunk 2077, and I've been having an awful time with getting a decent framerate in this game I decided to create this thread in hopes to find a fault in my setup, because the issue does not strictly pertain to Cyberpunk 2077(Black Ops Cold War, Metro Exodus and VR games are other examples). After looking at reviews, it doesn't seem that my numbers match up at all with other Youtuber's FPS. I even forced multicore usage (using the unofficial patch, found here). My best guess is that I'm really bottle-necked by my CPU, and it's showing its age in the recent games. I decided to benchmark the first mission in Cyberpunk, and here are the results: (Settings are RT Ultra, w/o motion blur, and filters turned off) Average framerate : 57.5 FPS Minimum framerate : 42.4 FPS Maximum framerate : 74.8 FPS 1% low framerate : 45.7 FPS 0.1% low framerate : 23.7 FPS Specs: LG Ultrawide 34" running at 3440x1440 75 Hz Ryzen 7 2700x EVGA XC3 Ultra Rtx 3080 32 GB OLOy DDR4 RAM running at 3600MHz Asus TUF Gaming X570-Plus (Wi-Fi) 1TB NVMe Samsung 790 EVO Plus 500 GB Samsung 860 EVO 240 GB PNY SSD 6 TB RAID 0 (3x 2 TB HDD) Windows 10 Pro, Version 10.0.19042 Build 19042 (Latest as of writing this) BIOS Version 3001 (Latest as of writing this) GeForce Game Ready Driver 460.89 (Latest as of writing this) Any help regarding this is a blessing, I've been pulling out hairs trying to figure out why my computer was getting worse FPS on a 3080 than with my 1080.

Budget (including currency): ~2000€ Country: Austria Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: Games like: AC Valhalla, Red Dead 2, Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, Cyberpunk 2077, etc., Programs: Photoshop, CaptureOne, Ansys, Comsol, Matlab; but the focus/question is on the gaming part Other details current setup: - monitor: ASUS ROG Swift PG348Q (100Hz, 3440x1440, 34'') - PC: GPU: 2x Gigabyte Windforce Gaming OC 1080TI SLI CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x - stock cooler (AMD Wraith Prism) Motherboard: Gigabyte X470 Aorus Gaming 7 WIFI RAM: G.Skill Trident Z RGB 4x8GB 3200MHz CL14 GTZRX Main Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe 1TB Storage: Samsung 860 QVO 4TB PSU: be quiet! Also sometimes my screen freezes in AC Odyssey, Origins and Valhalla. Screen is stuck in last frame and nothing works, only forced shutdown... My CPU stay kinda cool (<60°C) with a low usage. - runs around 3800MHz - 4000MHz Should i upgrade my CPU and MB? or GPU? or both? Or any other recommendation? My budget is also flexible, but i don't think that a 5950X and a RTX 3090 is needed.. or am I wrong? Thank you in advance for helping with advice. You guys make a very awsome job. A lot of people, including myself appreciate what you guys are doing with feeding us information and recommendation; also here in Austria Best regards, Christian

Hey guys, I built my gaming PC in Dec 2018 and at the time only had 2 sticks of RAM but had them running at 3200mhz. For Black Friday I decided to get some more of the same RAM (G.Skill Trident Z RGB F4-3200C16D-16GTZR), and I tried to OC all 4 of them to 3200 but my PC just refuses to boot until I put the memory back to auto (which I think is around 2333mhz). I had a look at CPU-Z and it said my DRAM manufacturers were different, I have 2 sticks from SK Hynix and 2 sticks from Samsung which I guess also correlates with the fact Thaiphoon Burner just said "8gb / 1die". Is the two different manufacturers a big issue? And if not will I be able to OC all 4 sticks of RAM to 3200mhz. My specs are: ROG STRIX B-450F GAMING, Ryzen 2700x, Gigabyte 1080ti, G.Skill Trident Z RAM, Samsung 860 EVO 500gb and a Samsung 870 QVO 2TB. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance

Hello, Im kinda confused as to which next-gen GPU to pair with my Ryzen 7 2700x, I currently have a 1080P 144Hz monitor and am coming from a GTX 970. I know any current offering would be eons better than a 970, but Im looking for the one which would be optimal for my current setup. Don't want to bottleneck a new gpu so am confused.

Hi guys, I got question about my Ryzen 7 2700x... I'm not oc master or anything like that, lets say I'm just more advance user, I've got Aorus B450 Pro motherboard paired with cpu, and when i got turbo boost enabled (by default it is on) in bios, my voltages jump up to 1.5v but they go mostly around 1.45v or around 1.47v and stay there for like looong time maybe tens of seconds, then voltages drop to 0.8 for like 5 sec, and again in the circle... that high idle voltage makes my cpu run around 50 degrees celsius when IDLE with stock cooler and pretty nicely ventilated case... problem is solved when i turn off turbo boost in bios, then my cores go up to 3.7ghz and my voltage is usually maxed around as far as I can remember ~1.15v. Other way of solving this problem (leaving turbo boost enabled) is turning on power saving mode in control panel, cores stay mostly at around 0.8v with short spikes at ~1.45. Using Ryzen balanced, balanced or high perf mode makes my cpu toasty as hell. I'm running latest chipset drivers, F50 version of bios (almost latest, theres 1 newer), I reinstalled Windows 3 times with no help... I hope there are other owners of this CPU or people who are geekier than me who can help. Sorry if i mispelled something, I'm not native English speaker. Much love guys!

Build : -Windows 10 Professional x64 (Version 10.0.19041 Build 19041 ) - Ryzen 7 2700x -Asus ROG Strix X570-E -G.SKILL Trident Z Neo 2 X 16 (64 GB) 3600 DDR4 -GTX 1070ti (EVGA) -RTX 2080 Super(MSI Gaming X Trio) -Phanteks PH-P1000GC Revolt Pro 1000w -Bios version 804 (Yes I know its old but I needed it for the 2700x to work) I was planning to upgrade to a 5950x when its available and unfortunately my old ram kit was giving me a lot of issues I kept on getting BSOD. As you can see in the image below. Memtest was going insane. So I decided to get some new ram. I settled for two kits of 16x2 Trident Z Neo 3600 for a total of 64 gigs. I am using this much ram because I genuinely need it and I kept on maxing 32 gigs anyways. I knew it might not be compatible with my 2700x at 3600mhz but surely I thought I could run it at 3200mhz. Unforntately my computer refuses to run at 3600mhz with 4 dims installed if i select the XMP profile. it works fine it only two dims are installed. Even if I install all 4 dims and set the memory speeds to auto and let it downclock the memory to 2133 mhz or something like that windows only shows 32 gigs usable. My question is are the 64 gigs of ram unusable at 3600mhz because of my CPU. Are running two sets of the aforementioned kits at 64 gigs difficult even with the ryzen 3000 series. Does anyone have any experance running those kits on ryzen 3000 series at 3600mhz ? I know you guys cannot give tell me the future but should I worry about this rams compatibility with the coming 5000 series ?

I bought the Ryzen 7 2700X in July 2019 but I want to know which is the best Ryzen 7 UPGRADE from the 2700x? Like a Performance/$ or $/Performance ratio, whatever that is called in 2022? But also the most affordable Ryzen 7 upgrade? I have not kept up with price trends at all, please if u can help a fella out. THX Thanks to all

The Ryzen 2700x uses 105 watts but the better performing 3700x CPU only uses 65 watts, so does this mean the 3700x runs cooler than the 2700x? If so, does this mean you can avoid or worry less about CPU TEMPS by simply buying a lower wattage CPU? WHAT Am I missing or not understanding about this? p.s. They also have the same number of Cores and Threads....hu?
