summary It's that time of the year again, Microsoft will soon release, a new version of Windows 10. Codename 21H1 the new update will feature.... nothing really. Normally, they are new features, but this time, they are absolutely minor, which is also what we got last year with 20H2. This proves the entire developer team is doing one of these three things: working mostly on Sun Valley working mostly on Windows 10X (Microsoft's competitor to ChromeOS that isn't announced yet but everyone knows about) working mostly on nothing Mostly bug fixes, here are the entire list of new features: Windows Hello multicamera support to set the default as the external camera when both external and internal Windows Hello cameras are present. Windows Defender Application Guard performance improvements including optimizing document opening scenario times. Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) Group Policy Service (GPSVC) updating performance improvement to support remote work scenarios. see the entire[ly small amount of] details below: here's more from the blog what's next for windows 10? Project Sun Valley. A big project, known only as rumors. Summarizing the rumors, Sun Valley seems to be going full in with Fluent Design, dropping Metro (the design language, not the transportation service!). This is supported by leaks from Microsoft showing screenshots in documentations and marketing materials that don't quite match up with what we have. One of the more notable change is... rounded corners on UI elements. Yeah, that design choice Microsoft had been avoiding like the plague. Even today, we have hints of UI changes, as seen in the new Edge web browser and in some apps. thoughts/opinions No changes here that will affect me at all... let's hope the bug fixes will... fix things? links Introducing the next feature update to Windows 10, version 21H1 | Windows Experience Blog

The last weeks it has taken my pc much longer to boot than before. It always takes 1 min and 9 sec to get to the login screen. The slow part starts after the windows logo and the spinning circle is done with its part, I guess the POST part is good takes around 15-20 seconds. I have tried playing around with the start up programs in task manager without any success. The BIOS driver has worked before so I cant see why it should be the problem. Crucial Storage Executive says that the drive is of "Good Health". Fast boot disabled or enabled does not make any difference. Boot priority is correct. Tried Reset the bios to default settings, no difference. What can I do?

I just bought an m.2 drive (WD Black SN750) for my old PC from 2014. I wanted a fresh install of Windows on the m.2 instead of on the existing SSD (120GB Samsung 840 SSD) where it was installed. So after installing the m.2 in my Asus H97-Plus motherboard (and checking that I could access the drive from the existing Windows installation), I downloaded the ISO from here, and then followed this guide to create a recovery medium on a USB drive from my Mac. I went through the process, formatted all drives and removed all partitions, and installed Windows on the m.2 drive. It said a reboot was required to continue the installation, but after rebooting it just brought me to the beginning of the process. I tried changing my boot order in the BIOS and unplugging the USB drive, but that just took me to the BIOS every time. It wouldn't continue the installation or just boot Windows. I tried installing Windows on the Samsung SSD (the one that originally had Windows installer). Unfortunately, it lead to the exact same results... I've tried updating the BIOS firmware, disabling Secure Boot (which wasn't actually possible, so I just removed the secure boot keys), disabling CSM, checking if both drives are recognised in the BIOS (they are), and running the startup repair from the recovery volume. The last one just said it couldn't be fixed and produced a log file saying "a recently serviced boot binary is damaged" with the 0x825 error code. Any ideas how to fix this? I would have settled to just install Windows on the Samsung SSD, but now that's not even possible any more...

Hi guys, I'll keep it short. Windows 10 keeps crashing on the loading screen. This started happening yesterday, but got progressively worse as time went on. Runtime after the first crash was around 2 hours before it crashed again. Now it can't get past the boot screen. It looks like a Windows problem, but since it got worse over time, is it actually a hardware issue? notes: The pc runs just fine in recovery mode (the menu with the Restore, Repair options). Automatic repair didn't work. I dont have much spare hardware to test with. I have acces to the cmd. All I need is to somehow get a Hyper-V VM exported and I will be happy.

Does anyone know if I can get MSI ab to boot on startup for non admin users on my pc? My brother uses the pc to play on his account and he's a standard user. Don't want him running random exe files so UAC has to stay on I've tried the elevated shortcut UAC bypass method but it only allows me to use it on my admin account. It won't run on a standard user acc I've got an undervolt profile for my 3070 and I want it to be running for all users Is there a specific setting I need to set in the scheduled task for it run for any user, regardless if they're admin or standard? I put the elevated shortcut in the startup folder for all users and it only opens on startup for admin accounts

It all started when I tried to add another Email account in Windows Mail and it didn't work. I tried to uninstall and reinstall it, but the Microsoft store wasn't really working. I've tried resetting the windows store and Windows Security. I tried running wsreset.exe. I tried disabling a registry key that was supposed to disable it but so far. No beans. I've been troubleshooting this for over 24 hours now. So any help is appreciated.

Hi, I recently installed a RAID 0 array in my PC and upgraded the SSD with a Sabrent Rocket NVMe. Since I did this, the problems started to happen: at every startup of my PC, programs like Advanced SystemCare Ultimate, EA Desktop, CrystalDiskMark (and I think orther disk related programs and applications) won't start, or sometimes they start but I have to force close them, because they don't open/work properly and are stuck. Antoher strange thing is the fact that at startup my disk usage is always 100%, and only after a few minutes it stabilize itself and becomes normal. I updated all my drivers (especially the Intel RST one) and Windows 10. I also did a clean install, twice. But the problem is still happening. Any idea about what could be the problem and how to solve it? Thanks in advance. Hello, my computer keeps blue screening with the error code 0x8080000000000000. I've done research on it and it says it's c++ related. I've done system scans in command prompt which fixed any currupted windows files. This is a clean install of windows 10, are these the correct c++ files? I can't do my school work so this is an urgent issue. Thank you in advance

Hi, I was just casually surfing the internet wnen got blue screened then immediately pc restarted and now stuk on motherboard logo screen, did some restarts, at a point I found that motherboard doesn’t shows any ssd. After reinstalling the ssd it recognised but the problem is still there, so I decided to do a clean windows install. but got error code: 0x800701b1 on "Getting files ready for installation" stage. But when I tried again on the Seagate HDD it it worked perfectly. I formatted the SSD and cpoied some file to check if it was working or not, files copied successfully, then again tried to install Windows onto the SSD but got the same error code. Hey so I've recently got into a few new games to me and a few of them don't start. I've checked the integrity multiple times and I've reinstalled both games and they still show the same error code (0xc000007b). Now I've been told that its a controller error, its a driver error or its a DirectX error. So i'm assuming that this error is very vague and doesn't tell much , I've installed all Visual-C packages, the newest dotNet libraries and I update my graphics driver. I've tried multiple tutorials, and still no luck. I've heard a few people say to move a file name "xinput_3" from the system32 folder into a sysWOW64 folder, but I really don't want to be messing around in the system32 directory and I'm pretty sure you shouldn't be anyways. Here I've linked system info log (I know it's very long so if you want me to look for something specific, just tell me) SysInfo.txt

For the 2nd time now, every single device connected to my PC (running up to date Windows 10) have simultaneously turned off. This includes my keyboard, wireless mouse, speakers, and even PS4 controller which was connected via Bluetooth. My monitors all stayed on with the PC, and the devices all reconnected on their own at the same time about 10 seconds later. I have also noticed that Windows has been randomly making USB device connect/disconnect chimes. I did upgrade my GPU recently, but I don’t imagine that’s what’s causing the problem (ofc there could be a GPU related explanation that I have no clue about) System: Ryzen 5 3600, Asus Dual RTX 3060, MSI B450 Tomahawk Max, Corsair CX650

Hey guys, First time posting, maybe anyone can tell me what happened... For months now, my Windows 10 installation has problems displaying a multitude of different applications, including internal programs like file explorer and external programs like Texmaker: The colors get inverted, I get black text on Black backgrounds and some programs, like Texmaker gets unusable. Texmaker is a IDE for writing LaTeX / TeX, for those unaware, it displays the entire Textbox in Black and everything I write is green, the drop down menus got black text on black background, pretty much unusable. This is just one example and applies to rougly 30% of all my programs, some worse than others. I currently can't provide screenshots, since I cant access my PC, this persisted through months of Windows installations, diverse hardware, multiple different BIOS versions and, as I said, a multitude of programs. I keep Windows and the effected programs updated. Reinstalling the programs does not work, and since it it also effects Windows internal programs I believe it to be a problem with Windows Color / Dark Mode. Changing back to light mode changes some colors, but the problem persists. Has anyone encountered anything similar? Could it have to do with the name I entered into Windows? It got a German "ü" and a friend of mine had some problems recently because of this... Thanks for your ideas, I'd like to get around reinstalling Windows.

Hi guys, I have a huge problem with my PC and the internet and the Microsoft forum wasn't helpful at all but I think you guys might be able to help me out there. I don't really know when this problem first occurred, but I guess it's since the start of the year. The exact Problem is that sometimes when I'm idling sometimes my GPU spikes to a 100% and when I take a look at the task manager the 3D usage is stuck at a 100% and the Video Encode is stuck at -1%, I don't really know why this happens, but after a quick restart everything works just fine but when this Problem occurs the PC is literally unusable. I will list my specs down below ( and yeah ik its CPU bottlenecked) CPU: Ryzen 7 1700 4Ghz GPU: AORUS GeForce RTX™ 2070 XTREME 8G RAM: 16GB Gskill TridentZ 3200Mhz Storage: 250 GB Crucial mmx500, 1tb Toshiba generic HDD

Laptop: Legion 5i (GTX 1650) The dextop window manager has a very high gpu usage (50%-90%). This problem started today and has made my laptop laggy. I'm even getting frame drops in games. In games which gave me around 80fps are now having drops to 30fps. Yes optimus is on but on turning optimus off there is no problem. Since I'm a student battery life is important for me. Does anyone have any workaround for this issue. Changing priority of dwm.exe didn't help.

Hello, I recently bought a Redgear Cosmo 7.1 headset. It connects through USB and shows up as a USB PnP Audio device. I have two problems with this thing : 1. It shows up in the sounds manager as a speaker, I've been ignoring that till now but if you can help fix it then it *might* solve the other problem too (I'm guessing) 2. The "scale" of the volume is very huge. I'm referring to the windows volume slider that goes from 0-100 (2 divisions each time for some reason). On it, when it's at "2" then it's already above my comfortable hearing volume. For reference the earlier 3.5mm headphones (which used to get recognized as headphones) were usually at "20" volume level for a comfortable hearing level. The high volume of the "2" has been bugging me now, and has started to feel kinda harsh. "1" is too low. There is no hardware slider on the headset, the buttons on that change the windows volume. There are no specific drivers on the product website. What I wish to do is somehow "zoom-in" to the windows volume "0-10" and make it the new "0-100" , so that I'd have more precise control over the volume level and won't have to deal with the brain killing volume levels over "10" that I have never even attempted to listen to out of pure fear. Is there any way I can possibly do that? Please help PS - I have an Acer Nitro 5 with 15-8300H, 16gb RAM, GTX 1050Ti. The headset comes with a mic, if any of these specs matter.

Hello all, just looking to buy a cheap windows key and I found a good one on G2A for $25. I want to buy it but I only have my debit card and no paypal. I know that G2A is RELATIVELY safe however, I don't want to risk it without confirmation. If anyone knows if it is safe to use card on that site that would be amazing.
