My Gamerstorm Genome (first generation) liquid cooling system is leaking and I didn’t notice it because it’s very gradual (1 drop a minute.) I had covered my clear panel because of the light at night. I was playing Minecraft when my monitors lost signal and then I thought I’d plug one into my motherboard HDMI because the sound was still running and I figured it was a graphics card issue. As I moved to the back of my tower I smelled a weird kind of funky chemical smell similar to antifreeze then I opened my side panel and saw that my graphics card had the green liquid from the CPU cooler collected on it and I quickly turned the power supply off and pulled the GPU out (MSI Nvidia GTX 1070 Armour Edition) Im guessing I for sure need to replace the cooler but what do I do to my graphics card? Rinse the funk off with distilled water? Leave it with a bunch of silica packets in a ziplock bag? Clean it with nail polish remover and do all of the above? should I clean the whole graphics cards piece by piece and then reapply the cooling chassis and thermal paste? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The cpu cooler is dripping into a cup right now as I’m hard pressed to remove it from the case that it’s more or less built into. I’m leaving the system off until i find some solutions and using my phone to ask this right now. thanks so much! -Jonathan P.S. I can provide more photos.

Source: ArsTechnica Quotes/Excerpts: My thoughts: This is clearly and obviously a data breach by Dell or an unprotected API. Dell should come clean with consumers and businesses based on their positions within the market place and industries (along others such as HP and Lenovo). This is an issue specific to them.

fake or not ? 16gb of memory will be too much for a 1170 I would say max 12 gb otherwise it will cost too much the memory speed looks good quotes A benchmark result of the unreleased Nvidia GTX 1170 graphics card has appeared online. As is the trend among all these early GeForce ‘leaks’, the image consists of a phone camera snap of a screen... so its authenticity is questionable at best. Nevertheless, here’s what the latest ‘leak’ indicates. The image consists of a skewed 3DMark result (22989) , half obfuscated by a benchmark window. What we can gather is that the run was supposedly carried out on a single Nvidia GTX 1170 graphics card with an incredible 16GB of memory. Too incredible, in fact… but we’ll get to that. The GPU was running at 2,512MHz, while the memory bus clock was running at 2,552MHz. source https://www.pcgamesn.com/nvidia-gtx-1170-3dmark-leak update It seems we have a release day on the 1170, 1180, 1160 ,1180+ quotes GeForce GTX 1180 on 30th August GeForce GTX 1170/1180+ in 30th September GeForce GTX 1160 on 30th October You'll notice a 1180+. We're not sure about it, but are fairly certain that the GeForce GTX 1180: 30th August launch would be a founders edition, and the + very likely is a board partner board, AIB cards always launch later. All this info makes that email sound plausible (but really also could very well be tremendously fake). The email also mentions 21st August for a press conference call, for the partners. source http://www.guru3d.com/news-story/geforce-gtx-1180-announced-late-august-11801170-and-1160-to-follow.html

My system suddenly rebooted and when it came back, I noticed on my desktop widget that it was only reading one GPU. Looking inside, I instantly noticed a small puddle sitting on the backplate of my SLI config, the fluid seemingly originating from the EK FCTerminal connecting the cards. Quickly shut down my system (it was still running), and drained and pulled apart the loop to get the cards out (GTX 980s). Took the block off and sprayed both sides of the PCB of the damaged card with isopropyl alcohol just to try give it a clean of some sorts. Is there anything I could possibly do to try get the card working? Please note my expectations are extremely low in regards to reviving the card, but any recommendations would be great!

Hello all so yesterday I had my Corsair H105 leak on me. I was replacing the thermal paste and the fittings came loose when i tried to move the tubes up to get to the bottom screws of the CPU block. I'm a little confused as to what to do next as everything online recommends different things and different materials to help clean the water out. The computer was unplugged and off for several hours before the spill occurred by the way. I removed and de-socketed everything I could think of. I even took apart the GPU and my main SSD to see if water got in there... it did but not a lot. I also have some airflow over the components via a window mounted AC unit and a fan pointed directly on the components Should I bathe all my comments in isopropyl alcohol given their current status or use some other cleaning material? Common sense would lead me to believe the alcohol would do the trick since it evaporates quickly and it would help rid any water that I cant see. But there are people out there that say it can hurt the components. Any help would be appreciated since I want the best possible chance of not bricking any hardware. Thanks in advance and the specs are below: i5-6600k OC 4.5 GHz Corsair H105 AIO CPU cooler Asus Z170-A Motherboard 16GB DDR4-2400 MHz G.Skill Ripjaws Memory Asus Dual RX480 4GB (the product lineup not running 2 GPUS) EVGA 650 GQ PSU 128 M.2 SSD for boot 1tb 2.5 inch OCZ SATA SSD for main storage 1tb WD Blue HDD Corsair 450D Mid tower case

Hello all so tonight I had my Corsair H105 leak on me today. I was trying to just change the thermal paste and the fittings came loose when i tried to move the tubes up to get to the bottom 2 screws of the CPU block. The piece of plastic that locks the tubes in place broke somehow. Anyway I'm a little confused as to what to do next as everything online recommends different things and different materials to help clean the water out. The computer was unplugged and off for several hours before the spill occurred by the way. I removed and de-socketed everything I could think of. I even took apart the GPU and my main SSD to see if water got in there... it did but not a lot. I also have some airflow over the components via a window mounted AC unit. Should I bathe all my comments in isopropyl alcohol given their current status or use some other cleaning material? Common sense would lead me to believe the alcohol would do the trick since it evaporates quickly but there are people out there that say it's bad so any help would be appreciated since I want the best possible chance to not have any dead components. Thanks in advance! So we all know how there have been lots of leaks about the pixel 3. I think I just found another leak. It might be another android phone that's already out, but I can't say for sure. I found this from the "Google assistant on the road" video that Google posted. The image that I uploaded that shows the phone sitting in a cup holder in a car. And the phone looks a lot like the other leaks that have been floating around. The other two images I posted are already well known leaks. Google Assistant- On the Road.mp4

I have just finished basic breading on my first system with the final coolant but I was wondering if I may fill the rest up completely. It is mounted horizontally so any bubble will show and look silly to me. The issue I have is that water expands when heated from 20C to 30ish (is that a normal water temp?). Do I need to leave an air gap to have a buffer that can eat up the pressure or can I just top it off to the rim? I have heard people topping off their stuff and not having problems but I'd rather be safe than sorry.

As of recent, my RAM will just get eaten up by no process in particular. It's a memory leak for sure, I'm just having trouble rooting out the problem since I've checked most, if not all the big problems they might be I'll list my computer's builds and things I've done recently. Processor: Intel i5-6500 CPU @ 3.20GHz Motherboard: Asus Z170 AR RAM: 16 GBs in total, 2 sticks of 8 GB Patriot Viper DDR4 RAM Graphics Card: Geforce GTX 970 HD: An old-ish Seagate 1tb HDD, from 2012? it's the one thing I'm not too sure on. I'll leave my computer alone and all the RAM will be in use by seemingly no particular process. Right now it's running smooth, but I can see it coming back (I'm currently at 6 GBs of 16 just running Chrome and Steam, no active downloads.) This has been happening since about Thursday when I got home from classes; I just came back to a PC that had all of its RAM in use, it'll usually start low before ramping up in no time flat, or over the course of a few hours. So far to try and remedy the problem is scan for malware with malwarebytes, run the memory diagnostic test which cropped up with nothing, removed all startup processes (I don't run any anyways, but I doublechecked to make sure), updated all the drivers for my motherboard that I could possibly think of. The only thing I haven't done is mess with the registry like some have said.

Hey guys, So In the past days I have been having huge memory leaks, to the point where my memory would be used at 99%. I have 32 gigs of ddr4 ram. After boot it would instantly go to non-paged pool 11 gb, and around 50% memory usage. I used a youtube video called "Fix "huge memory leak" in Windows 10 and 8 [ Non-paged pool using high memory ]" In the video I had to change some registry settings, setting non paged pool to 192 changing another value to 4. After doing this everything seems fine. I have 27.4 gigs available and 14% usage, and the non paged pool is 244 mb. My question is: What did I actually change? Could these have any drawbacks? Sorry I dont really know much about regedits and such. Thank you!

Exact words from CNBC website. I mean they are technically not wrong because GPU architecture is definitely different from CPU architecture, which is affected by this flaw, but CNBC seriously needs to hire a new analyst. Sources (original leak): https://twitter.com/dog_tower/status/939575388962947073 http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1sqbsph Allegedly, YouTube outsourced the demonetization process to an unnamed company who were given guidelines to follow when reviewing a video. But if they didn't find a specific guideline that the video had broken, they could demonetize it anyway of they just didn't like or agree with it. There was also a meeting in mid 2016 between high ranking YouTube officials and select creators. The purpose was to find a solution to the "unwanted creators" on the platform. YouTube guidelines: https://imgur.com/a/uTLTS The email invite sent out to the creators in the meeting: https://twitter.com/dog_tower/status/940725726239707141 Edit: mild clarification

I have an odd thing that happens, my main complex loop has 2 parts. one res loses some water at a really slow rate but the top is not air tight so it is evaporation and only happens when the loop gets hot. The oddity is the other section of the main loop is sealed completely but yet no matter the temperature seems to lose consistantly the exact amount of fluid over time. were talking like a quarter cup a mounth or less kinda thing but it is consistant. Is it possible that there are still small air pockets trapped in my rad after all this time? or that there is a small spot in a res that evaporation can still take place and moisture escape? I am quite curious and yes I have a very complex 3 computer loop and roof rad thing, I made another post about it but this is just me curious of what is going on? Where is the fluid going? it is so little that having to top of the rad every like 3 months is not really a big deal but it is very odd.

Hi So my windows 10 updated and now i have a terrible memory problem, after a few hours of use, i go back to idle desktop, my ram can still be at like 70-80% use, I have checked the programs and the maths don't add up. So 2 to 3 times a day I am forced to reboot. Current OD build is 14393.222 Has anyone else had this problem and found a fix? Motherboard: MSI X99A Gaming 7 Intel X99 (Socket 2011) DDR4 ATX Motherboard Processor: Intel 5820K 3.30GHz (Haswell-E) Socket LGA2011-V3 Processor Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4 PC4-24000C15 3000MHz Dual Channel Kit - Black Hard Drive: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5 inch Basic SATA Solid State Drive + Seagate 1TB SATA II + Samgsung 500GB SATA II + 2TB Seagate Expanshion Drive + 3TB Seagate Expanshion Drive + 500GB Seagate External Graphics Card: MSI GeForce GTX 970 Gaming Edition 4096MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card OS: Windows 10 Professional 64-bit Case: Cooler Master Cosmos SE Mid Tower Case Cooler: Corsair Hydro H100i GTX 240mm High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler PSU: Corsair TX750 Keyboard: Logitech G510s Mouse: Razer Deathadder Chroma Also as a side note, the same update corrupted my laptop, a Acer Aspire V15 Nitro - Black Edition VN7-591 after the update the machine would lockup after about 30 seconds of loading the desktop. I was forced to reinstall the OS, it would not even let me repair.

System spec: Asus pro gaming z170 i7-6700K OC 4.5 GHz 16 GB DDR4 2666 XMP EVGA 1070 FTW Samsung 500 GB ssd 1 TB HDD Windows 10 Pro 64 bit with anniversary update i had a Gtx 960 and upgraded to a 1070. After I installed the new GPU, Just Casur 3 seems to have a memory leak. When the game is first launched, the non paged pool memeory starts to increase and will rise until it uses all of the ram. The game will then crash and the computer will run slow until it is restarted. So far, just cause 3 is the only game that does this. I have already reinstalled the game, reinstalled the gpu drivers, did a memtest all night with no errors, and bios is up to date. Has anyone else heard of a problem similar to this or have any ideas on what could be causing this? I'm starting to wonder if it is just the game but I could find anything online of people have troubles with the new 10's. Thank You for your time.

Doing some upgrades after my mobo died (rip sweet Prince) and I whilst taking the old pc apart I noticed how damaged the tube on my H100i is around the CPU block. It is nearly 3 years old. Here is a picture of the area . The rest of the connections have similar mini cracks. I could also hear the water moving when I tilted it, something I can't remember hearing when I first installed it, so i *think* it might have lost some liquid, though I an not too sure about that.

Not much here, other than group think doing what group think does. Source: http://thenextweb.com/facebook/2016/07/25/facebook-wikileaks-links/ Well, I'm not surprised considering Facebook's history of blocking things. I'm surprised that twitter hasn't done the same. Especially when you consider how much pull the DNC apparently has over CNN, MSNBC, and Reuters. The original title is "Facebook admits blocking Wikileaks' DNC email links, but won't say why". But I didn't use that title because I don't see any evidence of Facebook admitting that, and refusing or failing to say why. P.S: Alex Stamos is a "security executive" for Facebook, according to his linkdin page. Although with recent history in mind, despite his response, this still stinks to high heaven. Thoughts?

So I looked around a bit and can't find anything about this. I am sure I am probably looking up the wrong search terms or just missing the posts... But anyway, please point me in the correct direction if I am adding a redundant thread... I will start with the TL;DR... Is my wet CPU still salvageable if I got to it about 9 hours after the fact? Is it a good idea to try a recently wet CPU in a new mother board when I get it (few weeks time difference) I thoroughly dried it and have it sitting in a bag of rice (kidding!) So I came home from work today to a computer that was very loud and my monitors would not show any sign of life. I turned it off, turned it on. Several times, and nothing. I reseated the GPU, nothing. I swapped the slots for the GPU, yup still nothing. Then I take a closer look inside my computer and notice that my liquid cooler (a horrible Raijintek Triton) had much less liquid inside of it than it should. I turn everything off, pull out everything and sure enough... That cooler just leaked in and around my CPU and the slot. It looked like an absolute blood bath (literally... I had red liquid in there.) I do have another computer on hand, so I started swapping parts that weren't touched by liquid (it thankfully stayed in the CPU and the CPU slot area of my motherboard until I started moving it around.) My GPU works great. My ram is fine. I just can't check my CPU because that was the most wet of the bunch. I am hoping that is the case, as I don't have the funds to replace both my board and my CPU, bills and such... If I do get a new motherboard soon, and try the CPU that was recently wet (this will be a few weeks from now.) And here I am, getting home from work. All I wanted to do was hop on WoW and play a little for the first time since Legion dropped, and instead I spend a couple of hours frantically trying to save as much of my computer as I can. Heh...

Carl Richell is director of System76 a laptop& desctop vendor that ships ubuntu ready machines. At right about 52 mins in the video he talks about how getting all companies involved into making linux drivers is a pain and mentions they have Pascal coming within a month, and their website has a notification on their workstation laptop that pascal gpus are coming soon with a notify me button.
