Yes he does use two separate drives both installed with windows, one for work, one for games, however he installs his games on both so there is no point to what he did. Is there anyway to safely combine them into two users on one operating system so that he can save more storage? Edit: yes they are both windows, not even a different OS

Hello everyone, This is a tutorial on how to get colors right on Dell XPS series from this year, might apply to older models with Intel Command Center.. Windows 20H2 and Dell Premier Color don't work well together. Intel GPU driver and Dell's proprietary fight eachother. Some people say it's the Dell Premier Color bugging out the Intel software, some the other way around.. This has been a know bug for years, usually getting better or worse depending on what Windows version you're running (and drivers), but it seems like it's been really bad in the past couple months, since many people have been posting on forums, struggling to get rid of just the most rubbish banding you've ever seen, worse on the eyes than cheap IPS panel backlight bleed. Possible solutions, that don't work in most cases: 1. Close Dell Premier Color Result: no improvement 2. Close Dell Premier Color, then open Intel Command Center < Display < Color < Restore to original Color Result: In many cases, black screen that doesn't recover. It can be reenabled if you plug in an external monitor (or forcefully restart the system) and reopen DPC (dell premier colour) - but the issue persists. 3. Delete DPC, then Restore to original color Result: Black screen, need to reinstall DPC or force restart Solution that WORKED for me, after all others failed 1. Delete DPC 2. Delete Intel Command Center 3. Install DDU (display driver uninstaller), extract and open with administrator, uninstall Intel GPU driver - If you don't know how to use DDU, there are some tutorials on Youtube that will explain it better than me. But this is the options you should select. And then click "clean and restart" 4. Display driver will uninstall, the screen will go ape sh*t and all audio will die. The system will then restart. Don't let it scare you, everything is fine. 5. Once you log back in, go to windows update and check for updates. Windows will automatically download the media drivers and the display driver for you, after which you will restart the system again, if prompted. 6. Install Intel Command Center from Microsoft Store. It won't look the same as the one you had before, but that's okay, it's the same thing. Once it's installed, open it and check that all your System < Power related settings are the way you left them, with "panel self refresh" turned off and alike.. Congrats. It should be all good now. I hope this helps Cheers

Hi, new forum user but avid tech user here. I was recently installing my old, but good, memory in a friends absolute garbage computer. They have a single stick of 8gb memory from HyperX 2600~mhz but I'm switching them to my 2x8gb 2133mhz Viper memory. Speed isn't their issue with memory, they just like having lots of things open at the same time. Issue: Anytime there's any memory in the second DIMM slot, the computer acts as if both slots are empty. If I put 1 stick into the first slot, boots fine, recognized the new memory, the other stick as well in the first drive, boots fine. But if I only have one stick in the second slot, or GOD FORBID, a stick in both slots, the computer simply doesn't boot, E.G as it would without any memory in it. There isn't a debug light or sound since this is a old barebones build, and from the information I have on the Motherboard, it supports dual channel. And yes, the board and RAM are both DDR4. I have got into BIOS when I had one stick in, and the computer shows both slots on hardware info. Thanks again for any help. Edit: motherboard is a gigabyte h110m-a for anyone wondering. The RAM I am installing is two identical models and no pins are bent on the slots.

So Windows, sucks, period. I already set my second monitor as the default, got the config on Always second display, but every time I hibernate windows it wakes up using my laptop screen (which I have almost entirely closed) and not my second display. SO I have to blindly put on my password, and then W+P every damn time. And not only that, my second display it's for 4k and 75% of the times display scaling just breaks and my games run with stuttering. IDK why, but it happens and it's always when I have to change between displays (the game is not open). In the end, 100% of the times, my laptop awakes to its display attached, 75% of the times when I change to the external the display scaling breaks, and 25% of those, I have to restart. I know it's probably cuz my integrated display it's attached to the Intel Hd Graphics and my external (via HDMI) to my Nvidia GPU. Any way to force, I don't care how brute force it will be, in the register, or whatever to just stop that from happening. Please don't recommend Linux, already said my GPU is Nvidia.

Hi, about 2-3 days ago I started noticing a noise which doesn’t go away appearing after a few minutes of booting up my pc, I’ve checked my fans and gpu and know for sure it’s my AIO, I’m wondering if anyone could suggest how to possibly fix this, not sure if it could be air bubbles, the noise is exactly the same even if I shake the case a little or tap on the pump many times. The noise can be heard with the case closed and even with my headphones on, on my bed a couple meters away. Added a video of the noise. V IMG_2929.MP4

Hi guys i have a weird one here. My friend's pc randomly turns off with no error or anything the screen just turns off and the pc sometime restart but most of the times the screen goes black with no picture whatsoever but the fans are spinning and the Mb lights are on but there is no picture whatsoever and i have to disconnect the powercord and wait a few minutes and then turn it on again. I ran memtest86 and there were no errors in all 4 passes of the test. Also yesterday i have been running intel burn test and heaven benchmark just to see what was the problem and it happened twice and i had to disconnect the power cord l, but today i have been running both Intel burn test and heaven benchmark and its been over 3 hours and the PC is fine and the temps are okay for the GPU and CPU. Im running out of ideas and i would like to know What more tests can i do to know the problem? Can it be a bad PSU or a bad MB? Thank you for your help Note: i have noticed that even that Windows 10 installed on the SSD it takes around 5 mins for windows to boot which is really SLOWW and really weird Pc specs CPU : ryzen 2600 with stock cooler Ram: Corsair vengeance 1x8 gb GPU: GTX 1030 PSU: Thermaltake 500w SSD: Crucial 240gb HDD: WD blue 1 tb MB: Gigabyte B450M DS3H

Hey. I just bought a Steel Battalion controller and I'm looking to see how to fix the connector on it. The cable's been cut off. I'd like to solder on a new cable but I'm at a loss for what the standard is on the other side. Can anyone help? It'd be very much appreciated.

My USB microphone keeps resetting its level back to 100 no matter what I try. I've tried closing and disabling access to the microphone for every program I can think of, and no matter what I google, it keeps bringing me back to the 'solution' of unchecking the box that allows other applications to take control of the device. That has always been unchecked, and no matter what I do, it will ALWAYS reset back to 100. I have absolutely zero clue on what to do, and I wish Windows would include something that prevented that 'level' from rising no matter what. I use Discord, and Steam, and I've disabled anything in the settings that would increase the gain/volume. With every program that could be affecting it, and every Windows feature that would be using it disabled, I still have this issue. I'm ready to give up at this point, so I'm hoping somebody else here has had a similar problem that they found a workaround with. I have a Blue Yeti, so I even tried to physically reduce the gain with the knob on the back of it, but it's still obnoxiously loud whenever I play games with friends.

mouse A small dent on the bottom of my mouse button (how to fix?)
hosty1337 posted a topic in Peripherals
Hello guys, I have a roughly 2 years old Razer Basilisk and in a past few months I've been having a weird issue in CoD when the gun suddenly unzooms itself (I use hold to ADS). After a while I've figured it out it was because of a small dent that has created on the bottom of my RMB. The question is: Is there a way to fix it? If so can you please give me a suggestion how to fill that dent so holding the right mouse button will work as it's supposed to? Sadly the mouse is like a couple of months out of warranty. Thanks. -
Hello. I bought these 2nd hand RX580 4gb (2048SP) variant. At first, it works just like it should be. However, when i restart my computer, there was no video output shown. :( I bought the videocard dirty therefore, i opened it to check whether the thermal paste is fine or not. I also clean off the dust build up of my gpu and repasted the thermal paste. But sadly, there was still no video output. Is my card dead? Upon turning on my system with this rx580, the cpu cooler spins and it seems it is working. I also tried testing it with other computer with speaker on the motherboard and i heard 3 or 4 beeps? I am not sure. But the last beep had a delay. I tried using other gpu and it works well. All parts are brand new except for this gpu. Please help me.

Hello everyone, this is my first post and I'm grateful for any responses or suggestions. Recently I decided to clean my desktop and in the process, removed everything from the computer case. After assembling everything back together, I'm receiving this error on my screen that says there is some kind of USB over current. I watched some videos and applied many ''fixes'' for this problem, but nothing seems to work. I also checked all my USB ports and none appear to be damaged, I tested all of them with the mouse and keyboard and everything is working properly. I also unplugged the frontal case connections to the motherboard and made sure the I/O shield is not sticking into the USB ports. Also tried resetting the CMOS battery. Even with all those tests, the error persists. (Screen image attached) I believe I might be able to solve the problem by resetting my BIOS settings, but for some reason, the pop-up motherboard message won`t last as long as before and the keyboard commands to access the BIOS won`t work while trying to log in. (Screen image attached) My computer is fairly old, not sure this might have any influence on this issue but I`ll be posting the specs bellow. Motherboard: Asus M5A78L-MX/BR (7 years old) CPU: AMD FX-6300 (7 years old) CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper T20 (6 years old) Case: Thermaltake V3 black edition-Mid tower (7 years old) Fans: 1x Thermaltake rear fan. SSD: 240G Kingston. (1-year-old) GPU: Asus RX 570 Expedition (1-year-old) Power Supply: Cougar 600W 80-white (6 months old.) OBS: After reassembling I did fire up the computed to analyze the CPU temperatures and everything was working fine. This problem only arose after unplugging the cables and putting the side panel back to take some pictures, I never use the side panel. (Inside picture attached) Once again, appreciate all help and look forward to answering questions and also helping you guys any way I can.

pc Star Trek Elite Force(2000) Will Not Work On My Windows 10
MrSkyline89 posted a topic in PC Gaming
Hi everyone hope your all safe and well. I have been building PC's for around 15 years now and always been a hardcore gamer, in this instance up until this point I have always got the retro games working and fully playable with good old trouble shooting, today however with the most recent system build I can not get Star Trek Elite Force (2000) to work on windows 10 I keep running into a brick wall with this one I have attached screen shots of my system specs and the error messages I get, and also I do not want to run it on any virtual operating systems, I also tried various compatibility modes along with Data Execution Prevention and still no luck, anyone have any ideas ?? -
By a lot of Blood, Sweat, Tears, Some Thunder of Thor's Hammer and a lot of crying, we got Update 2004 for Windows 10 to work though it required a fresh install and a BIOS update. It's unclear if the BIOS update really helped, because we had one successful Boot before the update, and we also had failed boots after the BIOS update. But I kept messing with the settings until it started working. Here's what the settings are (NOTE: These are for a Socket TR4 ASUS ROG Zenith Extreme so your mileage may vary): Set Optimized Defaults Fast Boot = Disabled Boot Config Boot Logo = Full Screen Option ROM Messages = Disable Interrupt 19 Capture = Disabled Boot CSM Launch CSM = Enabled Boot Device Control = UEFI Only Boot Network Device = Ignore Boot from Storage Device = UEFI Drive First Boot from PCI-E Device = UEFI Drive First Secure Boot OS Type = Other OS Boot Option Priorities = UEFI: USB Device (we were using Windows 10 installer on a USB stick) The USB disk had a copy of Windows 10 2004 on it (revision 19041.264) and made with Windows Media Creation Tool. What's strange is the CSM is on, but set to boot EFI only. At the same time, the BIOS display is set to the ROG logo, but not allowed to be overlaid with the spinning dots. It replaces the ROG logo with the default blue Windows logo with spinning dots. I didn't change anything else. So, it was: 1. USB disk failed to boot a bunch of times, except once, which told me it could work. 2. I updated the BIOS and loaded the Defaults. 3. USB disk continued to fail to boot, but I continued to mess around with the above settings. 4. When I tried the above settings, I started getting 100% reliable boots. 5. If I changed one of the above settings, it started failing again. There was nothing on the drives for the install, I did a wipe of the disk, so the C Drive had no effect on this. Now that we have Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed with Update 2004 working we changed the BIOS setting back to our regular settings and everything works. We have no way of really testing this but it kinda looks like BIOS settings maybe have an effect on installing this update. I hope this maybe helps anyone else having problems getting this update installed. It might also make a good subject for an LTT video.

Hello everyone, I am not sure if this the correct place to post this but i need some help. I am trying to fix my old TV, i don't remember the model but it has this panel (LC370EUH-SCA1-LG - https://datasheetspdf.com/datasheet/LC370EUH-SCA1.html). Actually the TV had issues like visual noise and slow motion, so after doing some research I came to the conclusion that the main board had issues processing the images. That's why I bought a Universal TV board and tried fixing it. Those are the parts that I got: 1) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32826581382.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4fe24c4dHp8CwD 2) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32828282415.html?spm=a2g0s.9042311.0.0.4fe24c4dHp8CwD The parts arrived and it took me twice as much research as i had done before, to figure out how I could connect the universal board to my TV's power supply. And I made it i had backlight. The problem is that i had no picture at all, i tried to install different firmwares, and tried to use some other cables I had, but nothing changed. I suppose the connect board that I also bought isn't compatible with my panel. That's why I wanted to ask someone before I ditched the project. I would appreciate any help, suggestions or even any compatible parts that you know they would work! Thanks for your time and help, in advance!
