Hi, so, earlier, I poster a really dumb thread: "what?" I am now sure that the only way of playing console games on pc is by an emulator. And ps3 emulators will still take years to fully work so I can play the games I want, still at a locked (I suppose) quality. What if. Somehow, console companies launched some sort of "Console Card"? 1st of all, it would sure make them a TON of money so I don't think that would be an issue It could be like steam machines! Where you could play the games at a quality that you decided based on your pc! Wouldn't it be awesome? I might be completely wrong, but from what I've read, consoles work with a messed up OP CPU and a mid-range CPU, we (pc) already have the GPU's, good GPU's. Couldn't they just throw us some sort of CPU card? Like, something you just plug in ur pci/pci-e, Install some messy drivers, and play? I am gona be honest, I hate consoles. Sorry. I just don't like the way you have to pay x amount to get one that changes every 2 years and that has a 0 customization level. But I just want to play some of my childhood exclusives without having to pay for the console+game(all doe I'd buy the game, even if it was after I played it just to support the developers) or go to someone's house and play a SINGLE PLAYER game. Wouldn't it be the best for everyone? Let's see, a ps4 costs ~$350. I would not hesitate in buying a freaking "card" for like ~$240+ at all. If they are that bad about their mad money, they could just launch an stupid card 1/3 of the pc community would buy(I might be exaggerating). This is just and idea, it would also be nice if some third party could do it but it's probably illegal anyway.

Hey guys! I'm pretty sold on the idea of corsair closed loop CPU coolers. I have a question though. Does fan size matter? 120mm vs 240mm? I can't decide between the H80i and the H100i. The only difference to me seems to be that one has twice the fans. Is that the only difference? Does fan size actually matter? If so, how much of a difference does it make? Thanks, please reply. -Jordan

i am building a new pc and i have decided to go with the geforce gtx 750ti (please dont post comments about other gpus, i have gone thru various forums, asked various questions, and after much deliberation, i have decided this is the card for me.) anyways, between evga and zotac, which is the more reliable one for gpus? zotac is cheaper but i read somewhere that alot of people have had issues with their gpus. For this specific model, what would be the best manufacturer to go with. Also i am on a budget, and and the gigabyte windforce edition would be my absolute limit. so between those 3, zotac, gigabyte and ega, which is the best one to go with?

my PFSense (formerly...and currently Untangle) box has a Gigabyte GA-J1900N-D3V board, but I have had problems like this for years with Pentium4 IBM's and stuff. It doesn't get IP from the modem. Untangle does it fine. The old IBM couldn't get IP from the modem either, untangle did it fine, if I connected it to a switch it worked fine and PF was pretty great if I sacrificed a switch for it. Not only doesn't it get IP from the modem it doesn't give an IP to clients. I have to set a static IP/gateway/dns/etc. Even then it shows as "Unidentified" When I attempt to connect to Webconfigurator it crashes. Rapidly prints lines of text before rebooting. (was) Using 2.2-RELEASE. Help would be nice.

Yeup this is hardly timely, but IDGAF. I still, for whatever reason, see people complaining about the windows 8.1 metro crap. I can guarantee that these people haven't used windows 8 for an extended period of time and tried to work around it with crap "classic start" buttons. Fun fact: If you press WK (windows key) + S you get search, it doesn't take up the whole screen, and finds what its supposed to. That fun fact got me thinking. So here is what I would do to the start menu, if I had the power to change it. I forgot to change the "Search" so imagine that says your name followed by your profy. I did this entirely in MS paint so excuse me if it seems perfect (sarcasm). if you hit WK + S it only covers about 1/8 of the screen, which I would find reasonable. It's super simple, I believe that the average user would only use about 3 apps, internet, email client, and some sort of word processor, of coarse the "power" user would need more. So in the empty "body" I would have the small tiles (like in the metro ui) that would disappear once the search box is non-empty. Here I actually spent more than 5 minutes make a "closer to finish" version, again all done with ms paint so....yeah..... Of course, the background color can be changed, it just happens to be a screen shot of the "search" on my laptop that I have modified. So what do you all think? If this is theoretically windows 8.2 (which I don't believe is coming), would you like this?

I finally got my DDR4 quad-channel kit running correctly, but after some more tinkering I managed to bring it down from it's default 3000MHz CL16 rating to a CL15. I also found ot that if I keep the CL16 I can do 3200MHz no problem. In both cases I keep the voltage at stock - 1.35V. So, as the title says, which would be better: - 3000MHz with CL15 (15-15-15-35 -1T) or - 3200MHz with CL16 (16-16-16-36 -1T) I tried to find some info on this, but couldn't get a definitive answer on whether there is actually any difference in terms of performance.

So ive had this pc ive been wanting to build for quite some time and its come to me buying the motherboard... ive had it planned to buy an MSI X99A Mpower for a few months now, been buying parts from most expensive to least expensive... but then i saw a review for the Asus Sabertooth X99 and i kinda started drooling... now, (imo) the msi has a lot of practical features for overclocking (wich i am planning on overclocking a ton) but so does the asus... i find myself at a stand still, i just cannot decide. so if you guys want to try to persuade me to lean one way or another please do your best haha...

Hey guys! I'm considering buying a GTX 980 Ti, but I'm worried it would be too overkill for an i5 4690k. So I kind of want to sell my GTX 970 and get a 980 Ti, but would that be so powerful that I should also upgrade my CPU? I'm just worried that I won't get it's full potential because my CPU is too weak to keep up with a game that requires a 980 Ti or Titan X. So if I do get a 980 Ti, should I upgrade my 3.5 GHz CPU to like an 4.0 GHz i7 quad-core or something? Thanks! -Jordan ALSO... What are your opinions on the EVGA 980 Ti, the water-cooled Hybrid? I think it has a lot of overclocking potential because it runs at only 50 degrees Celsius, but maybe you have a different opinion...? P.S. My cat died today

Hi, this is my first post on this forum and I really hope there is no general topic for those questions. I haven't found one at least. I already own a GeForce gtx780 Phantom GLH. I am very happy with this card, but I can't find the same card for a reasonable price. I want to get a second one so I can run SLI and my problem is that i don't know which card I should get. I thought about one of those: http://www.hardwareversand.de/3072+MB/83546/Gainward+GeForce+GTX+780+Phantom%2C+3GB+GDDR5%2C+2x+DVI%2C+HDMI%2C+DisplayPort.article http://www.hardwareversand.de/3072+MB/150438/ASUS+ROG+POSEIDON-GTX780-P-3GD5%2C+GeForce+GTX+780%2C+3GB+GDDR5%2C+2x+DVI%2C+HDMI%2C+DisplayPort.article I'm not sure which one of these would be better for my other card. If any of you has an alternative feel free to post. I don't need one of these 2, those are just the ones I found. If you have any ideas I would be thankful for a link. Thank you guys in advance

Linus did a review on the 'AuzenTech X-FI Hometheater HD Sound Card' a few years back. I know the card is old now in terms of 'technology years' but is there a better card out there today that does what this card does. Because I still have one and don't know wether it was a good idea in the end holding on to it. or if even onboard sound now does what this card can do. Any thoughts?

I'm putting a shopping cart together for my new X99 build and am tempted to just get a 16gb (2x8gb) to start out and get more later, ideally I want 32gb total but would like to wait till the prices drop a little more. Is there a benefit to getting a ram kit (4x8gb)? or is it the same just buying one 8gb stick at a time?

Hello Guys i want to get a monitor, it's gonna be my birthday soon, but i can't spend more because there are other things to pay, so my question is with this two monitors: Benq RL2455HM Vs Asus VN247H-P (23.6") So im wondering which one should i buy? Or should i get the lower one GL2450H and save money for something else I like to play MOBA, RTS, and Sports games Asus has 80,000,000:1 ASUS Smart Contrast Ratio (ASCR) And BenQ has 12,000,000:1 Ultra High Dynamic Contrast Ratio. And Size is the main difference i can notice

Hi, right now I have a GTX 760 and planning on selling it to get a GTX 970. The two I have been keeping an eye on are the MSI and ASUS version. I want the MSI one because it's £25(€31,$39) cheaper but I have heard lot of coil whine issues with the MSI version and the ASUS version does not have as much. So should I spend the £25 extra for the ASUS one or go with the MSI?

Hello all, So I've been looking at CPUs, and trying to make some decisions. I'm looking at extreme editions, and I'm curious of the differences between them. I'm not looking for why extreme editions are bad, or overpriced. Just looking for what's different. 3970x vs 4960x both are Six core CPUs, the 4960x is clocked .1ghz higher from the box, with the same turbo. 4960x has a slightly (20w) lower TDP, and is made from the 22nm vs the 32nm. So, besides running a tad cooler (in theory based on TDP), is there a real difference? Or is it just a dye shrink, with no performance boost? And the 59_0x (whatever it'll be called.), has been said to be an 8 core CPU, is that so? (Any references would be nice.) Besides the additional cores, will there be much else different? More cache? Lower TDP (or higher?) Help appriciated

Crittercism, a service that monitors app usage on over a billion Android and iOS devices, reports that apps on Ice Cream Sandwich, JellyBean, and KitKat combined crash only 0.7% of the time, compared to iOS 7.1's despicable 1.6%. Android's least stable version was Gingerbread with apps crashing 1.7% of the time. By comparison, apps on iOS 6 crashed 2.5% of the time. More details: http://www.androidcentral.com/apps-crashed-most-gingerbread-things-have-improved-according-report The full report is available on the following link (requires sign-up): http://pages.crittercism.com/mobile-app-experience-benchmark-report.html I bet if a poll was conducted on what people thought was the more stable OS, the results would be different. EDIT: I'm not sure if a proportion of crashing apps is indicative of OS stability or just app stability, but this is still an interesting metric.

Hey guys, I'm looking to watercool my rig by the end of this year. I have some questions for you regarding pumps, reservoirs and things. Firstly, I know a couple of people who tend to stay away from front bay reservoirs for one reason or another. I can imagine filling one might be tricky due to the nature of how it is situated (can anyone tell me if that's true?). I also know there are pump/front bay res combos, which I've also heard of people not liking so much. I do know that tubing runs to the front bays don't look so nice, but I may end up being restricted for space for a res by radiators when I plan out my build more. Next, is there a great deal of point in using dual pumps for redundancy. I know Linus has one pump in his rig that has been going for ages, so can someone recommend an uber-reliable pump for me? Thanks if you can help bchampion96

Hey LTT, I found someone on r/hardwareswap that was selling a GTX 770 Lightning and I got him down to about $260. I am pretty interested, but with current sales and coupons, I can get an EVGA GTX 770 ACX SC for right around the $290 after mail in rebates. The EVGA also comes with Watchdogs, which I was pretty interested in but it isn't really a deal breaker. Anyone got some advice on which card is a better deal? Does the Lightning really have any significant FPS boost over the EVGA? Just for reference, he claims he can easily get the card to +200mhz on the core, so it would hang right around 1400mhz boost.
