Hey guys, I want to buy a set of speakers and i have no clue which one is better. Please help me out. I have around 200-250$ budget. I saw the following speakers that caught my atention: - Logitech Z407, Z553, G560. - Razer Nommo v2 (the ones with the subwoofer). - Some sets from Edifier. If you could help me pick from one of those and/or give me other ideas that you think are better i would highly appreciate it!

Hello, I received a Fenda F770X as a gift. Sadly the noise is quite bad. At lower volumes it dilutes the sound and when nothing is playing it is more noticeable than my PC fans. As it is a gift and that the giver often comes around I cannot replace it - I would find it insulting and frankly I am grateful for the gift nonetheless. Can I somehow fix the noise? (by internal modding) I am willing to put the time into it... Thanks

Hell everyone! QUICK DISCLAIMER: I'd previously stated 8 days ago I needed help looking for 2.0 speakers for my computer, but way overshot how much I'd need to spend on just that. Apparently, I CAN afford a 2.1 system. So now I seek help for opinions on 2.1 computer speaker systems. Because... why not? Alot of the text will appear similar between the posts, because I have the same questions / expectations for a 2.1 verses 2.0 system. I'm in the USA, and the price of my computer when it was new was roughly $3,300.00 https://pcpartpicker.com/list/D2Dj4s I'd like Computer speakers, as I have none. Preferably White, if not then black. I'd like not to spend more than $375.00, and my absolute maximum for a 2.1 is no more than $500.00..... But Ideally, I'd like to keep it between $175.00 - $375.00 I know nothing about computers and how to plug in speakers to a computer, nor do I know anything about sources, cables, etc. 2.1 vs 2.0 vs 5.1 blah blah. I'd prefer not to have to "wire" inputs or outputs, surely there's just cables I plug in and out? LOL. I could care less about Bluetooth, quality within my budget is all I care about. I have a THICCCCCC carpeted flooring, so that's where the sub is going... Any suggestions would be useful. To summarize: Color: prefer white, will settle for black. Anything else is "fine" if everything else about them is pretty good. Type: Left and Right speaker, fuck Bluetooth if it gets me a better deal on quality and price. (build quality per price point ratio). Budget: Absolute max = $500.00 (for the love of god I hope it doesn't need to be that close). Preferred High = $375.00 Preferred Range = $175 - $375 Floor: THICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC Carpet flooring... if there was a SUB that's where it's go. I assume that's important. What I Care About In "Quality": I care that the left and right speakers sound pretty damn great, I'm not going to blast my SUB, it's going to be used infrequently depending on the game and honestly, I'll likely turn it down if the sound quality isn't hurt too badly. but they should not have known production or long-term quality issues. I care about good build quality... I plan to run these speakers for l like 7 years or more. LONG STORY SHORT FOR THE SUB: I care about the sound quality, not about shaking the desk when it thuds or whatever. I just want a distant grenade to sound realistic. If I don't need a dub for that, feel free to call me a dufus.

Hey guys, Having infrequent intermittent signal loss when using an RTX 2070 Super, an LG CX, and a 5m Ruipro gen 3 Hdmi 2.1 AOC cable. I know 5m is really pushing it for 2.1, but unfortunately I'm entirely restricted by distance. My actual question is: would plugging the included 5V USB power inserter (injector) that comes with the Ruipro cable be okay to use with my GPU? Want to give it a go, but I've not found any definitive answers online as to whether it would damage the GPU. Any help is much appreciated!

Reusing dead sub with old 12.5 inch LG speakers as 2.1 TV setup
RealSpyKitty posted a topic in Audio
Hello, so I am trying to reuse my old LG speakers LMS-M540 with a Microlab FC 50 subwoofer as an 2.1 audio setup for my tv. The cheap Microlab subwoofer board somewhat died and the left speaker output no longer working, I thought about replacing it with this S350H TPA3251D2 amplifier board and powering it with the same 20v 1.5A power supply I used before. As far as I understand by reading the manual the LG main speaker is a 6 OHM 50W and no idea about the tweeter. Would this setup work? Any possible suggestions with this setup? Can I hook up also the small Microlab speakers and have 4 in total? Could I down the road upgrade the speaker with something better? I never worked with in depth with audio stuff so this is my first time doing something DIY in this field so I have no idea if I'm doing stuff right haha -
Hi all My family is wiring our new house for TVs and in some spots we need a 15ft HDMI cable (the shortest length it can possibly be). I wanted to put in HDMI 2.1 cables because they are the latest and I know I am only getting one chance at wiring this house so I want to use the newest standard. Does anyone have any recommendations for a REAL HDMI 2.1 cable as a lot of the ones on Amazon are snake oil and don't actually meet the HDMI 2.1 standard. I know Linus did the HDMI cable test video but he didn't give model numbers for the cables and also I think I need "In wall" rated cables to pass inspection. Thanks all

I have totally give up on this issue, I wish someone would help me. This issue has been happening since 2011, the first PC that I purchase? So whenever I power on my Desktop, Monitor and Speaker (which is using a multi-socket block), there's an annoying, audible screeching noise. I initially thought that it was the speaker, as it's rather an old speaker bought during the P4 or early C2 era, Eco 2.1 with bass control (not sure what was the original pricing, but it was maybe just a single $50 note), as the 2011 desktop, I received a USB power speaker, which doesn't have the hissing noise--which really doesn't make sense for my motherboard to be the issue, heck, it's even had 3 upgrades (SB > IB > SL > CL), there's still the hissing noise. I have a tower fan, I thought it could be this is causing the EMI issue, but nope, even power off (there's a switch on the socket, oh it's UK plug), it's still screeching. Just few days ago, I tried separating the 2-pin speaker plug away from the multi-socket block, and have its own power socket, there's still hissing noise. I recently purchase Z313 because it was on a huge discount, and nope, still has the hissing noise. I might sell it away, because of lack of bass control. It's definitely not the socket strip that I'm using, it was change three times. It's not even the multi-socket block (13A), as I've replace with an almost brand new one. All have surge protection built-in--maybe it's a marketing deception, I am guessing Linus should test 'surge protector' plugs/strips. Any solutions that are within my reach? Maybe using a 3.5mm to SPDIF? Use an UPS to smooth power to my desktop, monitor and speaker? I don't think it's my house wiring, I remember that during an apartment upgrade--by the govt., there were electricians that check for house wiring, just in case we need a replacement. They said that the entire block has no need for a rewiring.

I use a logitech 5.1 speaker system paired with another logitech 2.1 speaker system to achieve 7.1 audio on my z77a-g45 motherboard. With both speaker systems there are 4 plugs total. Would I be able to use my current setup to achieve 7.1 with this sound card?

Hello, I am currently in the process of a budget 2.1 set-up for the TV and a record player in the living room. Currently I have the SMSL AD18 taking an input from my TV via optical and record player via AUX and outputting to a pair of Klipsch R-41M Speakers. This set-up satisfies my needs of sounding better than the TV speakers, and having a small footprint (The SMSL is tiny). I am wanting to add a subwoofer into the mix as the speakers lack a bit on the low end, and I want some more boom when watching movies. I am a little confused as to what I am needing for set-up. This amp states the COAX doubles as a Subwoofer output as seen below: I am a little skeptical about this as it seems it won't be the cleanest signal to the sub. My question is should I be fine using this as a connection to sub and getting a sub with these inputs: Or should I get a sub with high-level inputs/outputs as seen below, and not use the sub out on the amp (I will not be getting a Polk Sub, it's just for reference): Any input on the matter would help as there is not much information about the output on the amp that I could find. Thanks!

How do I know whether my Motherboard supports 2.1 vs 5.1 surround sound systems? Manual says next to nothing about the actual capabilities. Was thinking of purchasing this > https://www.logitech.com/en-au/product/z607-surround-sound-system as a surround system throughout my room. Not sure if it requires a sound card or simple audio jacks / Bluetooth. Any help appreciated. (photo of my audio jacks of my motherboard MSI X570 Gaming Edge WiFi) Any and all help appreciated, cheers.

Hi, I bought a new 2.1 speaker combo, nothing fancy, it's a logitech z407. I'm really not into high end audio so it's fine. My issue is where to place my subwoofer, I don't really want it on the floor, I can see that one day it will get wet and I want to avoid it, is there any other option for me? I don't want it on my desk, the vibration and lack of desk space.

Hello! I'm in need of some infomation, basically i wanted to upgrade to the logitech z625 2.1 computer speakers, i have the z506's and use them in a 3.1 setup, they sound great and work great. Had them for probably over 4 years now and they have yet to fail me. I am currently using an aux cable to connect to my motherboard. Basically the z625 has an optical port, my question is. Should i set them up on my computer with an optical cable going to my motherboard? Or an Aux cable? what is the difference? My motherboard has a optical port for sound, but some forums say its for consoles only. Well if its for consoles only why does my motherboard have one? My motherboard is the msi gaming 970, i have the realtek audio drivers and everything is fully updated and all audio drivers are working great! Under the spec sheet for my motherboard this is all it has for audio, hopefully this helps! The main reason i wanna go from a 3.1 to a 2.1, is because my center channel acts like another speaker, my driver has no clue that its a center speaker, and when i set it up in TRUE 3.1 mode, it basically doesnt work unless the game/movie/music im playing/watching is built for 3.1 or whatever, it honestly sounds better to have it just act as another speaker. The z625 is much much louder for the speakers are thx certifed, they should be great for gaming and music! (Prove me if i am wrong please ) Audio • Realtek® ALC1150 Codec - 7.1-Channel High Definition Audio - Supports S/PDIF output

Hi everyone! I'm looking for a speaker set for my PC. I had a Logitech Z333, was good. (I bought an Edifier M3600D but it has a crackling sound from reflex port ( only occours in the 20-40Hz range, with even not so big volume), so I'm a bit unsatisfied (other than that, it's a good speaker), trying to replace it, unless it is proven that I'm doing something wrong (or I should not except more in this price range?)). My budget is around 150 Euros. I like powerful bass. I was looking at sets myself ( I don't really know how these systems work, I just love bass.): -Logitech Z623 (Z625) 2.1, 200W, THX -Logitech Z2300, 2.1, 200W, THX -Edifier R2730DB, 2.0, 136W For me the Edifier seems to be BIG (I have no idea how and where will I be able to place it). Can anyone help me decide, or suggest any system, wich is: -In price range -Has good bass -Not monster big (placeable on desk or similar) Thank everyone in anticipation.

I need some help setting up my sub, I've got an 15 powered sub I use for parties at home and i've got two litle 8' powered speakers. I want to set up my sub so that it plays the low frequencies. About 100hz and below. I've got a sub output on my motherboard and the realtek software plays audio on it but any other app/music/video only plays sounds only on the two 8' and none on the sub. I've set it up on windows so that it's a 5.1 without the rear speakers and the sub is center & sub at the same time. If it's of any help i've got an h370 aorus g3 wifi.

Hi guys, my laptop's audio is not working properly. The thing is it shows the master volume to be at a positive percentage, the drivers are updated and everything but sometimes the output is 0 from the laptop side itself, my speakers and headphones work perfectly fine with my phone. This problem occurs 50% of the time nowadays. Sometimes when i restart the problem goes. i thought maybe it was a driver update problem so i uninstalled and updated the driver twice, once from the windows updation itself and once from the realtek website. both the times the speakers of the laptop worked. But now 2 days past that the problem occurs again, almost 50% of the time. help guys ? there are no viruses in the system i guess, i just recently had a full pc check. thank you !

I recently watched linus video about HDMI 2.1 and while it was very helpful it left me with a few questions correct me if I'm wrong but from what I understand HDMI 2.1 is simply a standard for pushing the fancy features linus listed in his video (4,5,8,and 10K resolutions, 120 Hz for these resolutions, game mode VRR, HDR, Dynamic Meta Data, EARC, 4GBIT/S) I also know that we will need HDMI 2.1 cables as well to take advantages of these new features. However i have many questions regarding 2.1, and many of them probably stem from this single question : Is HDMI 2.1 just a standard that our displays and source devices need the capability to take advantage of or is it something that they need to be "certified for". I'm in the market for a 1440p 144Hz display. I'm looking at a good one that is 1440 144 and with Gsync, however recently someone told me I should wait to buy this monitor because soon (near the end of this year and early 2019) displays just like the one I'm looking at for will be created to take advantage HDMI 2.1 what dose this mean exactly - Is this true or is this person just crazy lol ! I want to do 1440p gaming at 144hz, are there monitors coming out that are 1440p 144hz with "HDMI 2.1" that I should be waiting for My other questions are as followed: 1. Is HDMI 2.1 something that is a firmware update for graphic cards or do they have to be build with HDMI 2.1 in mind. 2. Do current cards like the GTX 1080 and 1070 support HDMI 2.1 ? How about RTX ? 3. Linus talks about having to buy HDMI 2.1 certified cables hear the end of the video at 4:26 , BUT will i have to buy an HDMI 2.1 certified graphics card and display as well ? 4. Do devices like displays have to be built with HDMI 2.1 in mind and am I safe to buy a new display without waiting for "HDMI 2.1 displays" to come out ? 5. Will we ever see "HDMI 2.1" on boxes for displays ? 6. What makes the Xbox one X an "HDMI 2.1 supported device" ? I know these are a lot of questions but im honestly confused and would appreciate any answers ! thanks in advance

Hi there! I saw a similar question answered a couple of years ago, but my components are a bit different (hence the new thread). I'm trying to properly include a Polk Audio PSW10 subwoofer in my setup. Currently, I have an Audioengine D1 connected to my PC via USB for power as well as an optical cable. Connected to this DAC are my bookshelf speakers (a pair of M-Audio AV40s)--these are connected using a 2-Male to 2-Male RCA Audio Cable. Now, the only way I've managed to make the subwoofer work is by using a 3.5mm Stereo to 2 RCA Cable Male to Male cable and simply plugging it into the back of my motherboard's 6-channel audio (the green speaker port specifically), and then enabling the Stereo Mix option in Windows 10's Sound settings (under the Recording tab). The motherboard is an Asrock Z370 Taichi. However, I noticed that the bass is well off rhythm this way, most likely because it's taking signals for both the left and right speakers all at once. I did try plugging the subwoofer into the sub/center port (the orange one) in my motherboard, but was unable to get any response from the PSW10 despite trying different settings in both the Stereo Mix and the Realtek HD Audio Manager. I'm a novice at this so I'd appreciate some help.

Hi, I am in search for a replacement for my once loved Edifier S730. My current ideas are: 1. KRK RP6 G3 (pair) or KRK RP8 (pair), stands & foam or 2. Audioengine A5+ or ????????? The Edifier S730 was good but it was far too loud and far too much bass and not that good treble / mids. The speakers will be used for pc gaming, movies and music listening... And rare occasions of FLStudio use with usb keyboards. Suggestions, thoughts anyone?

Hello everyone I'm able to get two Z623's for cheap (Brand new) and I was wondering if it is possible to set them up in a 4.2 surround sound set up. Is it possible and if so, how do you do it? Thank you and have a great day.

Hello. I recently bought headphones, Edifier W800BT (I know they're not top of the shelf, but they're good enough for me). They work fine with my phone and laptop, but not with my PC. Since I don't have onboard bluetooth, I plugged in some bt dongle. Headphones will indeed connect, but won't be recognized as headphones. So I looked up what dongle is it, in device manager it says "ISSCEDRBTA". Apparently it has BT 2.0, but I don't think that version of bluetooth is the problem. I installed BlueSoleil, but when it connects to headphones, it still won't recognize it. Even when I scan it for services, it finds none. Does anyone know how to fix it? Are there any other drivers for this device, or do I have to buy a new, better dongle. I'm running on Win10 64

My current crappy little Bluetooth speaker is making a horrible whining sound so I'm looking for a good set of speakers to use on my desk for my computer. I'd like a subwoofer but as I have quite limited space on the floor (I like plenty of foot room under my desk) or anywhere around me it's not super necessary. I'll be using them for pretty much everything, video streaming (YouTube, Twitch, Netflix etc.) as well as gaming and for general music. I enjoy a more bass filled experience especially with my music. My budget is $50-75 but I won't mind if it's anything less than that. Can anyone recommend a good set? Thanks!

I am currently have a SMSL SA50 with Micca COVO-S connected to my 40inch TV. In the process of upgrading my TV to 55inch and I think I need to upgrade the audio setup as well. I do know that my current setup lack base and was wondering which of the three would add the needed base (without sub). So far my choices are as follows Vanatoo T0's , Polk Audio MagniFi Mini Sound Bar , Orb Audio Booster Basic Micro Soundbar or SMSL AD-18 (w/ Micca MB42X speaker). What I like in the T0's are simple setup , on MagniFi Mini - it has a HDMI ARC (one less remote while watching) and Orb Audio Booster Basic Micro Soundbar or SMSL AD-18 (w/ Micca MB42X) is the possible upgradabilty. All of the choice are relative close in one another price wise (plus-minus 50$). And most of the review I've seen suggest all are good at what they do. What is the best for a open Room size = 12 feet L by 12 feet W and 9 feet H. are there other factor that I need to consider? thanks in advance.
