I think the 200R has better cable management.

I would go with the 200r based on the better reviews.

There is no such things as better looking textures on Nvidia cards. Textures will the same on every card because they depend on the game and not on the card. If you mean texture filtering then both teams offer identical texture options in their drivers.

I vote for the 290. Better card, less money, full 4GB of ram available. And since your resolution is pretty big, the 290 will really show it's potential. If you get a good unit, you may even be able to overclock and get even more out of it, but these cards don't generally overclock much. Try overclocking and see how far it goes until it hits ~90 degrees. If there is more potential OC headroom, you can watercool and get even more performance out of it.

One thing to note is sometimes there may be issues with drivers on launch (the GTA V performance was atrocious), but if you are not really passionate about playing games as soon as they are released, you can wait about 5-7 days for a better driver and/or patches from game devs which fix issues. But this kind of thing doesn't happen often and I'd still say 290 is the better choice.

One thing to remember is anything below E3-1230 doesn't have hyperthreading though, so it's just an i5 with 2MB more of L3 cache. E3-1230 and above are basically i7s though.

Another warning with Xeon E3s: they have really different model naming than do the consumer chips. Xeon E3-1230 is a Sandy Bridge chip, Xeon E3-1230v2 is an Ivy Bridge chip, and Xeon E3-1230v3 is Haswell.

Well, good news that you figured it out, bad news that its not working.

I personally still think its a bit pushing it for how much power it can handle. If you can find another, try a 1000VA unit. I usually find those to work for a gaming rig setup. I have a 1500VA currently powering two computers and networking equipment. I can have internet on power outages for about 5 hours .

Charged the battery up completely, let it sit overnight and the voltage across the terminals is 13.2V without the charger. Tried turning on my computer again without the UPS being plugged into the mains, and this time there was no voltage drop but the UPS still gave a long beep and shut down. That narrows it down to a faulty component within the UPS itself, really should've claimed the warranty when I had the chance, it expired on 24th May. I got lazy and thought it was just a dead battery, but it was not. Now I have a huge expensive battery which is of no real use anymore. One thing is for sure though, I'd rather throw my money down the toilet than buy a product from mercury again.

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!

it's right over 12V. The battery is super fresh, like never been hooked up to anything before at all. I connected it to the UPS and let it charge for 2 days straight. Then hooked up my PC. Now I as I found out, the UPS is not charging the battery so to save the battery I've set it aside for the moment, will buy a proper charger and then test the system again when the battery is at full charge.

Yeah that is it, it isn't charging the battery properly, I found that out. The battery is really super new so I think there wouldn't be much damage at all because the PC switched to battery backup only a couple of times. I've set the battery aside for now and will try to get a charger soon to properly charge the battery, then test it out. The battery it was designed to use had a lot of specs written on it. It was a 12V battery, that's why I replaced it with another 12V battery. But it says the charge current is 2.25A at 13.8-14.4V and I tested it out and it's only giving out like <0.4A which is why the bigger battery is not charging up properly.

You can get way more performance and less power consumption out of your PC if you just go with one GTX 970, or even two 970s.
But if you absolutely want to have both Nvidia and AMD cards in the system, you can surely do it. They'll just work fine as long as the drivers don't conflict in any way. You just plug the monitor into whichever GPU you want to use it'll do all the work, while the other GPU will stay idle. But nobody has done this ever for a prolonged use scenario, so I don't think anyone can prepare you for whatever may come when you load up the system, or compatibility issues with drivers, games and other software in Windows.
My advice, just get two 970s, best performance for your money at this moment. Those cards are good for atleast 4 years, given that the development rate stays constant. But the decision is yours in the end.

Awesome! Thanks for the reply. I'll be pairing it with an AMD HD 7950 for a bit of an HTPC/gaming rig for my TV. Wasn't sure if there was much of a performance difference if I'd get 1333mhz or 2133. But I guess it doesn't really matter in my case, just whatever is the best deal at the time.
    Thanks again!
