those are called distros
distro is short for distribution
ubuntu is one of the famous ones and most popular one
my second recommendation is manjaro (what im using)
there are a ton of distros
i suggest test manjaro and ubuntu and all of their desktop environments

How would they, they're the exact same parts plus or minus some proprietary nonsense to make them most cost effective to assemble.
A Dell system doing 12VO doesn't save any energy. At least not something you could measure.

Was trying to get a male order bride and ended up with a mail order bride.
Imagine my surprise.
We're making it work though.

Yes. A 3300x is about on par or better than the 7700k, and will probably be cheaper.

you see thats the thing people keep saying that its REALLY important to get the fastest ram possible but honestly from my experience as long as you have good cas latency ram, you could just get a 2800Mhz stick and overclock it since its just at the click of a button.
Now when it comes to the motherboard im not too familiar with 500 series boards but usually the good ones dont come cheap. If ur fine with the lack of features, a B550 from asrock or really any manufacturer should be fine.

Depends what you can get them for. You'd be getting them used, so there's no real definitive price.
The 7400 isn't really an upgrade, and might be more of a downgrade.
The 7700 would be better, however they're generally expensive and you can get a decent Ryzen set up for about the same price.

The i5 has four cores and four threads. The i3 has two cores and four threads. All else being equal, the i5 will perform better in gaming and editing tasks. The 1050 Ti will work for what you want to do, but if your PSU has a six-pin or you can get a SATA-to-PCIe adapter, the RX 570 will be a much better performer. And, of course, an SSD will make anyone's life better.
