Not gonna lie but everything is looking very promising and I'm all for it, im willing to contribute if a little and especially beta test it or some sort!

My suggestion is adding a way to submit the data online for the community to see, so if LTT for example doesn't wanna test the Intel Arc A380 for example, well maybe another youtuber or an individual does those automation benchmarks and submits them onto the website for users to see, this will generalize the way we see gaming and productivity data while finally not worrying about bloody userbenchmark and their manipulations or something like that but since the data would be community contributed, it really does help to give consumers realistic expectations going forward...

An optional one would also be trying to automate VR testing too, with what Headset is connected and what way etc. (eg. Direct SteamVR: Valve Index, SteamVR via Oculus Link/Air link/Virtual Desktop: Oculus Quest 2, SteamVR via iVry: phonevr, SteamVR via Oculus:  Oculus Rift S, SteamVR via WMR: HP Reverb G2 and etc. and for "other" headsets: SteamVR via OpenXR: unknown) and I can also see the appeal for VR youtubers to use this if it gets implemented, genuinely guys you got this!

I hope this gets implemented and this is definitely going to be the perfect benchmark application by far!

There should be user-made scripts/configs for games that aren't officially in the app. That was the first thing which got in my mind.

Another thing which would be cool is a dotted FPS map (I don't know what these are called in English, I mean the maps which use dots to show stuff) which will show the average, 1% and 0.1% FPS on the same picture. It'd make the jumps and stutters more noticeable than a line graph, especially their frequencies. Python already has good libraries for that so shouldn't be a lot of workload as well.

This one might not be helpful for everyone but what about a local server which will use more than 1 machine for the same tests at the same time? For example imagine if 6 PCs are connected to the local server, they'll run the benchmarks and once they are complete their datas will be in the same dataset. Tho I'm not sure how professional this approach is when there's the option of data merging but I'm sure labs team knows it better 🙂

Edit: Overclock profile testing with connecting to MSI afterburner would be great as well. For example it can test all of my 5 profiles and output the results.

    Presenting... MarkBench!

This is the home of MarkBench discussion for the time being! While this post is relatively empty right now, you can look forward to occasional development updates, answers to common questions and (eventually) a link to the software!

    What the heck is MarkBench?
Wouldn't you like to know? And wouldn't we like to tell you! Check out our announcement video!

    When will it be released?
    When it's ready!

    Is it free?
When it launches, MarkBench will be completely free.

    Can I contribute?
In the future? Maybe! In the now? Development will be done in-house. BUT, you can contribute by providing feedback and feature suggestions in this thread!

We want to hear from you! What do you think of MarkBench? What features would you like to see?

I bought a whole bunch of ridiculous HDMI cables due to frustration of lack of HDMI 2.1 cable availability in South Africa and bought from all over and only one was able to output 2160p @120hz 4:4:4 10bit on LG C9. Was soo angry, as importing cost me soo much(hundreds of dollars), but just wanted to avoid being scammed-only to be scammed.
I even contacted HDMI.org to verify these cable, and they were not helpful…
I did notice improved colour quality with Fibre Optic HDMI cables, but did not do 4K120 as advertised.
These are the SNAKE OIL cables I purchased and have, and I linked both manufacturer website and Stores bought from:
Vention HDMI Cable 8K - Bought On AliExpress - Did not do 4K120 - 3m
    Vention Optical Fiber HDMI Cable 8K - Bought On AliExpress - Did not do 4K120 - 3m, 5m & 20m
    MOSHOU HDMI 2.1  - Bought from AliExpress , eBay, Sikaicase & Amazon - Did not do 4K120 - 3m & 5m
    MOSHOU HDMI 2.1 Blue - Bought from AliExpress - Did not do 4K120 - 3m & 5m
    MOSHOU Optical Fibre HDMI 2.1 - Bought on Sikaicase, Ebay & Amazon  - Did not do 4K120 - 3m, 5m &10m

After a review from Vincent Teoh on HDTVTest about the Zeskit HDMI 2.1 cable, I bought the 3m & 5m and they worked perfectly and can be scanned with HDMI certification app.
    Zeskit Maya HDMI 2.1 - Bought from Amazon – Worked with 4K120 - 3m & 5m

Please may you also test the TrueHQ & Maxonar 48gbps Ultra High Speed Cables in 3m & 5m.

Please do a review on some of the obscure kickstarter brand cables like "Supercalla"

    https://supercalla.shop/

My wife purchased the cables during their kickstarter and they seem very clean and easy to manage, but I am terrified of the internals being low (or unknown) quality and risk weakening or (worst case) burning out a device that I use to charge them on over the long term so I have avoided using them entirely. I would love to be able to use them but have found no reviews from people that have confirmed that over the long term that devices aren't at risk. From my understanding, low quality resisters can result in device damage during charging (from the usb cable scare from a few years ago).

A thumbs up on the quality of these cables would allow me to use a bunch of cables that are currently collecting dust.

    The USB A -> USB C

And USB C -> USB C variants are the ones I have

I wonder if it can do optical display port cables. I have 3 of these, Avencore Carbon Series 5m DisplayPort Active Optical Cable (Supports Ultra HD 8K@60Hz) and swear by them because I have so much electrical interference under my desk where I rout all my cables that copper based cables were causing screen jitters and tears.

They have worked flawlessly with both my 2K and 4K screens, I wonder if they will work with the advertised 8K 60hz

There are A LOT of snake oil optical HDMI 2.1 fiber cables (10m+) on Amazon. Would be nice if someone could expose them so less people have to go through the trial and error process i did. I went through 8 different cables or so before i found one that supported full 4K 120Hz HDR signals. Most of them were standard 4K 60Hz cables that are sold for over 100€ as HDMI 2.1 cables. Some of them claimed there was an incompatibility with RTX GPUs (which were conveniently the only HDMI 2.1 output devices at the time) to decline warranty.

Please test Club 3d cables they seem to market themselves as good quality no bullshit cables. But it would be interesting if they can hold themselves up to this

Test the „Premium“ Apple cables and other kind of well known brands. Buy multiple of them to check consistency and maybe length to check for variations. Use the cables for a month or so and tell us the result.
Quality cables are a pain in the ass to get. And the „helpful“ Amazon reviews don’t really help.

I got an 5m HDMI cable over here which I doubt is capable of the 2.1 compliance it promises. It is an optical, thus unidirectional, HDMI to HDMI cable by MOSHOU, a kind of brand name for display cables from china.   Since I bought it 1.5 years ago, they released a new revision of the cable, that basically promises HDMI 2.1 for sure now. No joke, their product page now states the previous one is not compatible with the new XBOX/PS. 🤥 Here's a link to that shit cable: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000305467475.html Srsly wtf?!   As for the issue im experiencing: Picture and/or sound drops out occasionally on my 4k OLED when running at 60Hz 4k 8bit 4:4:4 as well as 60Hz 4k 10bit 4:2:2... 😖   If you guys are interested in testing this MOSHOU cable, I could send it over, including the original packaging, I just need someone to cover the shipping cost. Germany to Canada is expensive 😞
