    The XMP profile appears to be the same, the newer kit just has faster JEDEC profiles in SPD. This helps performance a little for those people who forget to enable XMP.

    I think this clears it out then, get a reference PCB card from EVGA and water cool it with an AiO, overclock it to be equal to the Xp and enjoy a life of luxury gaming... :3

    Cheers!

    So spend that chowda on the Ti :-) You will not regret it. And maybe spend some time and change that badge... so creepy.

    Another option is that, if you are thinking about the 1080, also consider the 1070Ti and OC it.

    Save a few more bucks and get virtually identical performance (and run cool).

    I believe the best advice I can give you is, are you comfortable buying the 1080 Ti?

    If your budget has its limitations the GTX 1070 Ti serves the 1080 purpose for the 450ish dollars area, you can do a lot of gaming on it and frankly at 1080p144hz you're hardly GPU bond if you slightly adjust settings, would be worried about the i7 5820k single thread performance start capping your fps before the 144hz margin actually.

    Now if you have good financial means and you can buy a 1080 Ti without nightmaring about the spent money then I actually tell you to go with it, it is the fastest mainstream card yet and it will remain as such for another year, it is a dream come true play any thing you want, max out at 60+ fps...

    It goes down to how much the luxury is worth to you, I think really matters on your $ capacity above all things, since realistic speaking both the 1070 Ti and the 1080 Ti offers great value for their tiers.

    I'd probably go with the 1080Ti for the same reasons. It's less likely you'll regret the purchase, and you're already in the "expensive" category with the 1080. You do get a significant performance boost over the 1080, so more "future proof," as others have said.

    I would go ti if you actually enjoy playing games still. I kinda regret getting 10 series cards at all. Running into other issues with using old cpu's. In the long run its gonna be well worth it especially staying with 1080p.

    I run a 1080Ti coming off of a 980SLI driving a G-sync'd 1440p and I would go for the Ti. The little bit of extra money will keep you happier for longer.

    It's up to you, but my experience follows that the Inspiron is the exactly the laptop you want. Just by looking at the specs for the price paid. You still get an i7, you still get the 1060, which is faster than the RX 580 as is, you still get more RAM than the Omen laptops, you know the cooling was sufficient for a 1050 Ti and, unknown if this is a Max-Q 1060... but if it is, we're still in luck. You also get better storage, odds are you still have a decent screen, build quality is probably on par, etc.

    I mean, it's hard to NOT recommend the Inspiron models here. I feel like Dell shot themselves in the foot with the original 7559 and now they've kinda... undermined themselves and their Alienware lineup.  The sheer number of people who can buy an $1100 laptop are outnumbered by those who can buy an $800 laptop by an order of magnitude EASILY, and people understand quality. I know I sound kinda... sorta-half-triggered? I'm not I swear!  Just enjoying my laptop. >w>

    I'd have to recommend the Inspiron. It seems kinda weird to think  "There's a GOOD Inspiron laptop now!?" But it's true! Typing from a nearly 2 year-old 7559!  Great machine. Dunno if the newer machines are as good, but they perform well within what's considered  "good enough" for me!

    Also 256GB SSD and a 1Tb storage medium as opposed to just a 1TB storage drive for the Alienware AND $400 cheaper? Go with that. >.>;

    290x is a solid card sell it to miners for a good buck before ethernum crashes and buy a better gpu when the prices are normal i managed to sell my 380 for above msrp

    Obviously don't upgrade unless you actually need to, but if you do, I'd try to stick to the AMD ecosystem since you've already invested in the monitor as well, and switching that out as well would be even more expensive, not to mention gsync is generally more expensive than any freesync counterpart
