These exist, so it makes no sense at all to buy either of those options. And if you still insist on spending hundreds more for Corsair, then you are irrational and any advice we may give is meaningless anyway.

I'd go with the CL16, but go with a different brand. You can find much cheaper kits of the same specs for over $100 less.

DDR4 does not need extra cooling, its temperature is far more affected by the surroundings (i.e. the hot CPU next to it) and if the fancy heatsink today is of any use, removing the LEDs will help just as much.
 
Different kits from the same brand will be the same here in this regard. Peeling off the heatsink, LEDs and components on the PCB that makes the LEDs work, different models with the same XMP ratings are the same.

Nope, at the same speed and timings, they are identical. For some reason, people seem to be willing to pay the Corsair tax for their RAM, and this is why they are generally more expensive for the same spec.

Either cpu will last you the entire ps5/ series x generation easily but you will probably never use more than 16 threads of the cpu for gaming so both are entirely wasted

Has anyone else found the 3060Ti to be underwhelming? I upgraded from a 2080S and aside from aesthetics (went from Aorus to MSI) there's hardly a noticeable difference, and the empirical performance is *meh* at best. I live around the corner from MicroCenter and even with early morning lines, after three tries the 3060 was all I could get. I'm considering returning it or selling it and waiting out the demand/stock disparity to get a 3080 or 3080 Ti.   Am I just experiencing buyer's remorse or does anyone else feel the same?

If your going to sell the card please be a decent human being. I would sell it for $400 - $435.

It seems to perform on average 1-2fps better than the 2080 Super and about 7-10fps worse than the 2080Ti. The RTX 3070 is around 1-2fps better than the 2080Ti.

Looks fine. Now run prime 95 or c20  loop for like 30+ min and see what the temps under load

futureproofing with less than 64 cores? what are you, a filthy pleb? if youre springing for a threadripper you might as well just get an epyc or something, while youre at it see if nvidia will sell you an a100 or two. i mean you might as well just ask google for one of their datacenters at this point, think of all the games you could play on that. maybe even crysis at low settings 240p
