    For ~$70 I think the MXL Tempo is a better choice for a USB condenser mic
     
    The DG 5.1 doesn't have a great mic port (or rather, it's not really any better than the default microphone port on your on-board audio) nor does it supply phantom power, so if you want to use the sound card you'll be stuck with dynamics, so you're better off with USB mics for the most part unless you have some sort of interface. That said, you don't really need that much for Vent or Skype.

    Currently I have a blue spark digital. I use it to talk to my friends on things like coms or vent mumble.  I'm looking at the rode ntg1. It will be mounted above my monitor pointed at me. I don't like mic's on head sets and don't want the mic right in my face. Has anyone used a shot gun mic for this type of set up?? And could u share ur thoughts on the matter

    Definetly like that U2413, but ya that price tag... may have to put off upgrading for a year to save up :(
