P300 has better airflow, even though the Aerocool has 4 fans, the front fans have a very tiny strip of ventilation space around the sides of the front glass. I would get the P300 and buy an extra fan or 2 for around $10 (or equivalent) and mount them at the front of the case.

Linus needs to start a podcast. Being such a dominant force in the tech community, he could have anyone he wanted onto a podcast and talk about anything. I think that adding podcasts to Floatplane could also help give that platform a big push in the right direction. Thoughts?

Okay, what level of refurbishing are you planning on doing? Just upgrading, components and reselling the computer as a gaming computer? Or upgrade and repair?
If you just want to upgrade, then first purchase a restoration disk from the manufacturer (it's cheaper to already use the OS that the computer came with) Install an HDD if missing, or offer upgrades to a larger HDD, or an SSD install a GDDR5 GT 1030, GTX1050, GTX1050 ti, RX 550, or RX 560, (get the LP models if you are working with SFF models), install 8GB of RAM in each machine, get some thermal paste and renew the thermal paste application for the heatsink, (optional) purchase/install wifi card, and purchase a air can to clean the machines out.

Ramotovski reacted to KSores in Should i get a 144Hz monitor???
i play competitive overwatch a lot. i bought a 1080p 144hz monitor and it actually makes a huge difference, i never thought a monitor could actually make me better
    i wouldn't get a 1440p 144hz with a gtx 1060, i have a 1080 and mine is 1080p and i wouldn't want to go higher res
but for shooter games 144hz monitors really give you a advantage

While this would be (meh) interesting, I think having to find a laptop under a set price would be much more restricting than finding desktop parts. My idea for this would be to find low profile parts meant to go in a desktop, but turn it all into a stupidly large laptop and be graded on how well it can be used in daily tasks. I think it would be funny to see how crappy their craftmanship skills are, having to make a cover for all the components and to get the screen to connect with the body.

For a prebuilt you still have to worry about if you're still under warranty (since not many manufacturers have warranties longer than a year or so out of the box), and if the warranty covers accidental damage.

I'll take a custom build PC any day, even if that means it's more complicated if I need to RMA several parts.

Ramotovski reacted to jiyeon in Your opinion on RGB
I'm neutral on RGB personally, I don't mind if it's not present on my hardware, but it's nice to have to change up the flavor of my hardware. I particularly like that with RGB, I'm able to change up colors of my hardware without paying another penny, one day I can have my whole setup purple, another day I can have it all white if I wanted to, it's the diversity in RGB that makes it great.

    I like RGB when it's:
    • Complimenting my hardware - such as RGB fans that shine light into the inside of my PC
    • Little bits that give my hardware flavor - such as the small RGB 'G' logo on my Logitech G502 RGB

Where I have a problem with RGB is when:
    • People spend more on RGB so much that they skimp on PC performance
    • When it's overdone and not in unity to the point it looks like a disco rave

Ramotovski got a reaction from IAmAndre in Nvidia GTX 2060 3D Marks Score Leak
The article on the WCCftech website claims to have leaked 3D Mark Score from a brand new GTX 2060. The results show a score that matches the one of a current GTX 1080 which is a huge upgrade over the current generation GTX 1060, that it is going to replace.

    My thoughts:
We waited for the new Turing architecture for a long time now. If the leaks are to be believed, than the wait was worth it, and my rig will soon be running a new 2060.

I'm very suspicious of the person who made an account just to post something like this. The whole Nvidia rumors' galore as of late has made me suspicious of even credible tech websites.
