    Show off your latest purchase!

A raspberry pi, a USB powered soundbar & a riser so I can put my ps4 and wiiu under my monitor.
  2. I've used that to fix static/lag on HDMI/3.5mm/dp sound; it was worth a post.

    Nvidia Drivers suck on Linux

With my 650ti, I just use the nouveau drivers. Get an AMD card for Linux or wait for Intel's dGPU

    Office alternative

Libreoffice is great, there's also Calligra. Then there are always paid options like Softmaker
  8. It it possible, but not recommended to switch DE's in an install. KDE and Cinnamon are the most traditional; KDE being slightly more resource heavy. Gecko Linux is opensuse with cinnamon OpenMandriva has a nice kde setup as well, & you can use the mageia net installer to select almost any desktop Opensuse has a large userbase though, fedora's is close in size
  9. Do you have any idea what DE you want? I like fedora, spins are available with most major DE's; very up-to-date distribution. OPENSUSE Leap is a good choice too, not as cutting edge.

    PC wallpapers

I use video game art at home and some classic tiles from classic Mac 7/8 https://www.macintoshrepository.org/10646-macos-desktop-patterns-pictures at work

    macOS vs linux

MACOS 10.5+ is certified Unix compliant, all versions of OSX technically are but apple didn't pay the fee to put the branding on OSX <10.5. Linux is a clone of minux, which is a Unix like kernel.

    Need Server OS

I use headless centos (compatible with RHEL) but I think the installer has an option for a basic GUI I run game servers for supertuxkart.net donate.playstk.tk
  13. I recommend a little more space for / Remove old kernels & packages once in a while http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2016/05/remove-old-kernels-ubuntu-16-04/
