Because I thought it was a fan splitter connector or whatever, looked similar on the opposing end so I pulled it out on the front end before I realized my fault.

And yes... I never really saw (video builds for example) anyone mention the switch/show it before I did my build. Just would skip to powered on system, no switch flipping. Forgetting about the power switch is a common thing though, I thought, so... not just me either.

Well... I did quite a bit of research, watching build guides, reading articles, and so forth.

One thing I wish I knew though...

If I remember correctly, I think I ran into needing a fan extension and my unaware newbie selfie somehow thought "What about this connector here going into the front I/O? Looks similar! *yank*"  It was the connector for the case lights around the i/o shield which are certainly nice/useful but no more after that. I felt so stupid after pulling it, I was like "Oh wait... this isn't...  Why did I think it would be? I need to think more and not just act... sigh " Still haven't managed to get that tiny freaking connector back in, even trying with tweezers and what not. Pain in the ass... Don't really need the lights anymore though, so whatever.

Also despite my all extensive research, would've loved to known that that some (if not all/most) power supplies have a switch on/off. I spent a few hours putting my system together just to set it up and get no response as I pressed the power button. Immediately I thought I fucked up and redid the front i/o connectors (power/reset) and when they didn't work I redid all the cables if I remember correctly once or twice over...  Only after that I happen to notice the freaking switch. Argh.

Samsung has today unveiled their new 30TB 2.5" SSD (PM1643).
It's a SAS Drive with read speeds of 2100MB/s and write speed of 1700MB/s.

It's gonna cost you a penny or two and it will be perfect for your new NAS.

It's great that we finally get to see large SSD's, sadly it will take time for them to viable options instead of using HDD's for normal users.

Wow this is more stupid than I have words to explain.  This literally accomplishes nothing except making ordinary use more inconvenient.  Now instead of just getting the image, you have to go to the page and find it manually.  What on earth were they thinking!?  Companies spend untold sums on making their products easier to use every year, and here they go and do the opposite for literally no reason.

    Original Post:

I wanted to post this in Tech News, but as of now I cannot find any online source.

As of today, you can no longer view image sources through Google Images. Before, when viewing an image, you could click "View Image" and be taken to the page where the image is, typically resulting in a URL ending in a .jpg or .png file extension. This is no longer possible, as the only options are now to visit the website hosting the image, or to save it directly to your Google Account, which has proven difficult for copyrighted material.
Additionally, right-clicking and opening the image in a new tab will ONLY open the thumbnail; you can no longer open HD images through Google directly. You are required to go to the page host.
All images also now have a "Image may contain copyright" tag underneath them, next to where image resolution is now displayed. This appears on all content.

This appears to be true on multiple browsers, both with and without Google accounts logged in.

Edit: Upon further investigation, this does not seem to affect everybody. I've been receiving conflicting reports, where some users are missing the option, and others have it just fine. This has held true across both Chrome and Firefox Quantum. It appears this has to do with Google's Save feature.

Intel's Skylake-D Xeon information has been leaked. Skylake-D is expected to be launched in Early 2018 and is a bump to Skylake SP cores featuring AVX512 and should be the same cores used in Skylake-X.

These are the leaked upcoming parts and pricing.

This new series is getting new motherboards as well.

So yeah, if Skylake based Xeon Silver and Xeon Gold exist then why does Xeon-D continue to exist? Hopefully someone below can tell me.

Also, Damnit Intel!! Kill off X299 and Kaby Lake-X and just start fresh with a Modified version of CoffeeLake for X299 cos at this point selling consumers so many different architectures at the same time (Skylake SP, Kaby Lake-X, Kaby Lake, and CoffeeLake) is so silly.

Okay, going to start this off with a slight warning.
ATTENTION: It may be prudent to take the following information with a grain of salt, as it is coming from wccftech.
    https://wccftech.com/amd-epyc-threadripper-mobo-compatible/
Okay, the first part was actually proven by der8auer's video on YouTube, showing via x-ray the differences between Threadripper and EPYC.
Okay, so we have a means of verifying that the mobo and the RAM are good and functional, though we are posing a bit of a risk at a $900 cpu......
    Yeah, saw that one coming.
Okay, a little info I didn't know, but hey, you learn something every day!
Given that there is, what, over 4000 pins on this behemoth, I'm glad I'm not the one who had to find out which one it was.
Alright, so, again, While it is possible for EPYC to work on X399 boards (something I'm sure Linus would love to see happen), there seem to be issues standing in the way.

Either way, this does prove that there is some relation between EPYC and Threadripper besides the physical layout and the socket they go in.

It is awesome to see that AMD has been positive most of the year, and finally has some breathing room to grow. I hope 2018 is a even better year for them. it is nice to see new CPU designs coming that are not effected by Meltdown/Spectre in the next 1-2 years from both companies.

Almost more of a PSA, I haven't looked into many details of this.

Intel really should have tested their updates prior to sending them out, even if it was a rather large flaw.  It'll be interesting to see how this "new" patch ends up rolling out to the public and if there are any more flaws
