Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from Taf the Ghost in Tesla slams the brakes on going private after long discussions with shareholders & investors
It’s not a lie if he didn’t promise anything. Now it’s possible the SEC might slap him with a fine for being unclear and possibly misleading, but no way he goes to jail.

Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from soldier_ph in Elon taking Tesla private?
So this isn’t an article but just came across it on Twitter. Apparently Elon is considering taking Tesla private.
I in my infinite business ness knowledge feel that it would probably be best for Tesla. If they have indeed secured all the funding they need I think it would protect them in the long run, at least until they become more consistent in their production.

Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from xriqn in Show off your old and retro computer parts
I wish camera phones existed when I was on High School. I took a “Computer Lab” class where we assembled all the schools PCs. Rummaging through some parts I found a 10KB drive... yes my friends. 10KB. I remember scoffing at it because we were installing 500MB hard drives in the computers we were building, cause we were ballers.

Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from GigabitXe in Facebook online quiz maker exposes personal data
So the Facebook hits just keep rolling in.
https://www.theverge.com/2018/6/28/17514822/facebook-data-leak-quiz-app-nametests-social-sweetheart-exposed-user-info
So if any of you recently found out which Disney princess you are (I always imagined myself as Mulan for some reason) then it's possible your Facebook data has been exposed).
To be fair:
However I trust a breached company's "Uh yeah, we totally think it's cool, ya'll are good, no one saw anything" type of comment as much as I trust that Swiper the Fox won't Swipe stuff.
Moral of the story: Don't take Facebook quizzes, because they all want your data, and this is what could happen to it.

Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from Taf the Ghost in Crypto value diving with stock market
https://www.marketwatch.com/Story/total-value-of-all-cryptocurrencies-slips-below-250-billion-as-tepid-rally-fades-2018-04-06?&siteid=yhoof2&yptr=yahoo
So I’m not gonna lie. I didn’t understand a lot of the analytical parts of this article, and maybe it’s a little petty and vindictive of me, but I did grasp that bitcoin and other crypto currencies are tanking, and it made me giggle a bit. Then I cried a little bit because my 401K is feeling this slide as well. But I’m grasping firm to the silver lining that maybe crypto will continue to tank and the regular markets will recover and climb again.

Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from NMS in SpaceX sets eyes on being an ISP
https://www.theverge.com/2018/3/29/17178126/spacex-satellite-broadband-internet-fcc-approval-license-starlink-spectrum
So basically Elon musk is tasking his next step towards galactic domination. His SpaceX company received approval today from the FCC to begin an ambitious satellite launching program to provide high speed internet.
I’ll be very interested to see what kind of speeds and prices they offer. They claim it will be “affordable” and a big competitor of theirs OneWeb hopes to be able to offer gigabit speeds in the near future.

Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from ARikozuM in Coinbase turning over customer Data to IRS
https://www.theverge.com/2018/2/26/17055264/coinbase-cryptocurrency-tax-irs-compliance-court-order
Approximately 13,000 users’ information, despite Coinbase’s vigorous objection, will be turned over to the IRS. They were informed so by e-mail.
It looks like the government, at least in the US, is tired of not getting is cryptocut. So maybe this will help dissuade people from mining and get graphics card prices back to normal.

I'm conflicted between wanting GPU prices to come back down, and wanting the IRS to get fucked.

Pretty sure pushing ads and selling data is how all social networking platforms make their money.

Monkeybiz0985 got a reaction from Ryujin2003 in Snapchat stock value plummets
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-43163544
So apparently Kylie Jenner, one of the Kardashian clan, tweeted she no longer uses Snap, and snap lost 1.3 billion dollars of their stock value.
That’s one hell of a tweet. It’s kinda crazy that a single user of a platform holds that much sway.
In other news Snap’s chief received almost $700m in total compensation last year... I’d be more worried about that if I were an investor, not that Kylie isn’t on the platform anymore.

Qualcomm is claiming to have achieved 1Gbs on a cellular data connection. They say it could be capable of 5Gbs in it's final form.
That's better than my broadband connection....
