Because Overwatch and MW2 run on completely different engines with different overheads.

RTX 4090 is bottlenecked in most games at 1080p even with 13900k and even at 1440p.

There is nothing wrong with your CPU, the game is just very CPU heavy so it's also an engine limitation.

Yes, you would get better performance with better CPU but the difference won't be big.

    My eyeballs. 😳

Let me get this straight. 4090 + 1080p monitor + DLSS performance making the res actually 960x544.

Yes, you're seeing bottlenecking but its the GPU that BEING bottlenecked since you're throwing such a small res at the game. The 4090 is sitting around with nothing to do as this is a very unbalanced setup and configuration.

With a 4090 you certainly want to upgrade your monitor but at the very least, turn off DLSS. If you insist on keeping that monitor, you're going to want a faster CPU but it will always be your bottleneck at that resolution.

im pretty sure in theory there is no cpu currently that can max out that card. you made a whoopsie! it happens.
and what is the default monitor res?

ok, what you should be doing is turn off the Nvidia overlay, reset the games settings (is that warzone? 🤢) and run the test again.

at the moment we just know that your cpu is bottlenecking hard, but it might get better with either default or even very high settings,  make sure dlss is off.

basically you're getting what i got with a 3070 (190fps max) so something just doesn't seem right imo.

No, tearing occurs when frame rate and screen refresh is out of sync.
    G Sync fixes that problem.

    YES

Screen tearing will happen unless u have some kind of sync active, be it Vysnc, Fast Sync, G-Sync, or FreeSync.

Even at 144fps on a 144hz monitor, without sync enabled, the frames exiting ur GPU wont always be synchronized with the Display, frame times fluctuate, so without some kind of sync u WILL get screen tearing, whether u notice it or not is down to you.

At 144hz, unless every single frames frame time is 6.944ms, ull end up with tearing.
So for example if u get:
    6.89ms, 6.90ms, 6.87ms, 6.94ms, 6.89ms, 6.99ms,7.00ms,6.94ms.
Thats not consistent and ull get tearing, but will show up as 144fps,

Vsync and fast sync ensures those frame times are the same,
Adaptive sync ensure the monitor refreshes at the speed the frames time are at. Both result in no tearing, but without it u get tearing.
You'll notice tearing more the further out the frame times are from the target refresh frequency.

Rtx 2080 ti and 8700k. Settings is completely dependant on the game but usually a bit lower than ultra. The hit from going from high to ultra is actually insane yet the visual difference is almost imperceptible.

Yeah I don't think I have really seen 1440p TVs so the chances they target 1440p for consoles is basically 0. Most people just plug the console into the tv so they will jump to 4k just want they have done with TVs.

9700k/9900k +1070 ti and up can already run 2k 144, a 2080 ti is about 4k 90fps, so it'll be 2 more generations of gpus before we can run 4k 120, we don't even have monitors that support 4k/120 fully yet, they need to be updated, so around mid-late 2020 is my guess.

The LG monitor looks great for gaming, and Xbox supports freesync so that's a huge plus. No, 4ms response time won't produce any ghosting, I use a 5ms monitor for gaming at 1080p60, and it's pretty great. You'd only see ghosting potentially at really high refresh rates like 144Hz, and even then it'd be minor.

After spending time in a javascript framework, I realized I've gone through many phases in web development. I wanted to share these steps to see if others can relate or differ, and also figure out what the next step to this puzzle is.

    1) Learn HTML and CSS
    2) Learn that GUI wizards are trash
    3) Learn JavaScript and Jquery
    4) Learn JavaScript with TypeScript Framework and pretend you didn't do the other stuff before this

That's about the best you're going to get for $400. Beware, Samsung va panels around that generation had some ghosting issues but don't worry about it too much

We'll do our best....  And that monitor does look awesome, BTW. Should be great, especially if you're getting into competitive gaming.
