    More gutted batteries.

    Interesting colors here.

I tested the voltage, and some read as low as 2.4v, while some read as high as 2.7v.

They were clearly not fully charged, but what I found interesting was the diffrent voltage readings.

These were all in a laptop, so they should all largely be the same voltage ununless B grade stock was used (B grade batteries aren't consistent with their amount of voltage per charge level, nor are they constant with their watt hours).

While this may seem egregious, these were in a 350 dollar laptop, so budget cuts like this should be expected.

@CUDAcores89 People aren't giving laptops to me, my mom is a fucking idiot and leaves laptops out where the cats can pee on.

One of them was 1500 dollars.

    More batteries.

    These are flat semi flexible.

This song deserves much more then 180 likes.

  4. I guess that I'm going the whole DIY route with USB cables.

This will look nice on the keyboard.

I wonder if I could make money off of this.

  5. @ARikozuM I require your T cells.

I'm fresh out of Skynet today. Come back tomorrow.

Sorry, fresh out. He's got some spare U and S cells though. I can call you when I get a new shipment of T cells. (I'm @ARikozuM's wear-house manager)

Ok, I found a more appropriate device.

Fuck paying a premium for coiled cables, this is fucking easy.

    And fuck you @Den-Fi!

  7. Alright, so I got a coiled cable from aliexpress, but the manufacturer accidentally sent the wrong USB port.

    I needed a type c, not a mini.

I contacted the seller, but realized that the wording was a bit confusing so I ordered another one and triple checked the USB type.

Unfortunately my phone acted up and I accidentally ordered 3 extra, so I cancelled the three extra, but aliexpress needs the seller's permission to cancel.

At this point I'm getting fed up, I can't even find nice designs for USB C.

I guess if you want to do anything right, you gonna do it yourself.

    Here's a test, it's an old cable.

I wrapped it around a broom handle and applied heat with a heatgun.

For a first attempt, this came out wonderful.

Gonna get something with a smaller diameter and put it under the heat for longer next.

Using my PowerA Micro USB connector and my s8's included adapter works very well.

    Much better.

I increased the extruder retraction length and speed, as well as increasing the support percentage.

    A semi successful first print.

My supports are too thin for PETG, causing some problems, so I'm increasing the support materials by 0.4mm.

Lowering the print speed did help with stringing, but caused excessive deformation on the Z scarring area, so I'm keeping the travel speed the same, but increasing the print speed slightly.

Dimensional accuracy is good, but it's still a bit crooked, so I'm going to edit my model a bit.

interesting. i could use this to make a desk fan out of the wrecked PSU fan i have lying around. but i dont thing it wont make any air move with the blade design intended to do close range cooling.

@Tech_Dreamer What I'm doing isn't the most practical.

I mostly did it to prove some idiot who thought that they knew what they are talking about wrong.

Typical AAA or AA batteries run at around 1.6v.  What I'm doing is wiring that one AAA battery to a boost converter which in layman's terms converters watts to volts.

However AAA batteries have horrible wattage potential and real low watt hours.  You're better off using a AA or even better running two AAs in series, that will give you 3.2v to work with, needing less wattage to be converted and thus greatly increasing battery life.

If you have a non functional laptop and you are brave, you can extract lithium cells which would be ideal since you can recharge them with the appropriate charger circuit.

Why do people like this exist?

Is his goal to kill people?  Yes, bleach would probably kill viruses, bacteria, and parasites, but it would also kill you.

    Acetone is a wonderful chemical.

Ok, so I either have plastic on my fingers that was dissolved by acetone, or I fingered a demon bae.

    1. ARikozuM

If you fingered a demon bae, you needed to bring some holy water as lube.

I could've sworn that this college was pink and blue, but my memory could be failing me.  It wasn't a particularly pleasant part of my life.

That was where my mom went to college before she got accepted to UCSF.

And right next to the college was.

A grade school that had teachers who liked to treat me like a criminal and lock me in an isolated room for hours every day.

    Here's the map.

I guess that I'm having unpleasant childhood memories at the moment.

@ARikozuM You're telling that to someone who sells colloidal silver...

I've heard that copper is also biocidal, but to a much lesser extent.

    3. ARikozuM

Copper interferes with the ability to move electrons around. Trace amounts are necessary to prevent that from happening, but Cu is necessary for some bacteria.

    4. Skanky Sylveon

      Skanky Sylveon

@ARikozuM Aren't trace amounts of copper needed for humans as well.

  17. Drunken Floridian pirates that steal children's key lime pies and beat key deer (essentially midget deer that are endangered last time I checked) to death while making out with crocodiles.

  19. One of our local burger joints are ran by Mexicans.

That's irrelevant really, but they have some interesting optical illusion art.

    And for my personal favorite.

EDIT: Also, they make pastrami burgers.

That's the most likely scenario. Worse is the origin of the product.

I know what I fucking said Google.

My Spanish has gotten very bad ever since I left Florida, I can't even hold a conversation anymore....

    3. Jtalk4456

My spanish has gotten...Nope i never had it to begin with. I did get up to spanish 2 in high school

      weird words I remember:

      que pasa perro

ok a side story to the last one there. I met my wife in freshman year of high school, we have been a thing ever since. First and last. As corny as it sounds, we were in it for the long haul, we knew we would be marrying each other and spending our lives together. So to say we were a bit lovey dovey at times is an understatement. Now my spanish teacher Mr. Yeargin was a great guy and really nice to everyone. BUT school rules still tried to limit PDA's in school for obvious reasons. We'd often sneak a kiss at one or the other's class before heading to our classes. Most teachers didn't pay attention or care, but Mr. Yeargin always got after us for it (in a nice way). He'd tell us "no besoing in the hallway". We both were in spanish so he knew we knew what that spanglish meant XD

The plastic and noctua spacers came today.

Not the same exact shade of blue, but they still look like they will match well enough.

The ABS and PETG seem to bond real well too, that's real good.  PLA tends to not bond with ABS as well.

Now let's hope that this dual extrusion print goes well.

  22. Most non rual areas of America has recycling bins, San Francisco actually had 3 bins, an extra one just for composte. But yeah, America is pretty behind when it comes to being "green" with many practices. I figured that you weren't from America actually, it's 3 in the morning here, most of us are asleep right now. I'm probably gonna go to bed as well after I finish my beer.
  23. I live in a rual part of Oregon, and yeah, it sucks. I have a 3D printer that can take PETG though (glycol modified PET) so if I get the right equipment I can probably recycle most soda bottles for printing purposes. But otherwise there is no realistic way for me to recycle that wouldn't be a massive inconvenience unfortunately.

How to make your smartphone looks cooler

Glitter. Lots and lots of glitter.
  25. Exactly, I was talking about solutions to problems instead of "plastic bad" or "don't take my straws away you hippies" since that's how progress is made. Yeah, proper recycling can go a long ways, but that's not only on the individual, but the city in question as well. There is no recycling services where I live, so I do my best to improvise.
