Tauwer reacted to WillOfTheLand in Thread for Linus Tech Tips Video Suggestions
Video Idea: Linus tries to get every 3DMark Achievement
So I posted this on reddit and it sort of took off, and a user suggested I post the idea on the forum so here it is.
I'll attach the image in case anybody has a issue seeing the embedded link.

Tauwer reacted to foolishlywise in Suggestions for our iMac Pro repair
@GabenJr @LinusTech I work for Parliament here in the UK (as a researcher for a Member), and I believe we have some relations with the exec team/public affairs team at Apple. Could write to them using my position in Parliament to see what they can do. It usually works.
I am happy to provide proof I work for em (have my official email and other bits of ID) - if a mod or yourselves want to check this.

Tauwer reacted to myselfolli in Forum App (but not really)
Before you go and lock/delete this thread:
I know we won't be getting a mobile app, and for perfectly valid reasons. But maybe consider a progressive web app (PWA)?
It's essentially still the same web based forum, but with all the advantages of a native mobile app. Although I don't know how difficult this would be to incorporate since the forum software of the LTT forums is 3rd party software...

Tauwer got a reaction from Vivank in RX 460 or 1050TI ?
doesn't fit the question but buy a second hand 970 blows the 1050ti out of the water (bit exaggerated) and cheaper. if you don't like second hand parts go for the 1050ti

Tauwer reacted to joshuawi99 in Do you think Zen+/Zen2 will be able to compete with 8700K single-thread performance?
In single thread performance they will still be behind like 10% but Multicore will be a different story. If the highest model can achieve 4,5 Ghz all core that would be sick. I mean like 2000 Cinebench Scores +. Also gaming performance would be very competing. I would wait for zen+ actually

Tauwer got a reaction from paddy-stone in Does anyone knows what does it mean?
as far as i know it doesn't mean more than that there are 2 12 volt fans inside the laptop....
edit: and that it might be one of the earlier/first designs to have those?

Tauwer reacted to Phrench in Cheap First Custom PC Build
ok thanks for clearing that up, the reason I don't have storage on the list is because I was going to take the 1 tb hdd out of the old pc and put it in the new one, I know that it will take forever to boot but it would stay on mist of the time anyway.

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/WrjNLD something like this add in another 130 for the apu and that`s a nice build for your needs. You can always add another 1tb hdd for mass storage if needed ($50)

wait till the AMD apu`s come out those might be just what you need, you could get a build with such a cpu for 400 easy

Tauwer reacted to LogicWeasel in Pc Upgrade Help
From that budgeting standpoint I think it's a waste to go from your functional Skylake Mobo to Coffee Lake mobo, why not just get an i5-6500 (non-k because of your board obviously)? That makes for a fine quad-core upgrade that can handle modern games titles with ease (as Coffee Lake's IPC aren't that much better than a good Skylake i5). Also since you're not getting a new GPU in that list, why the new PSU? Unless your current one has awful coil-whine or has damage, you should be fine with your current PSU.
Save your money OP, and with that case upgrade get an SSD as well to boost your OS and essential files. If budget is left over, maybe look at getting more RAM if you heavily-multitask but otherwise 8GB is fine for games right now (if you're not streaming at the same time, or running Photoshop under heavy load).

if you are in this price range wait for ryzen apu`s that would be the best fps/$
