Uhm...you know that the Silencio 550 is a Silenced Case?

There are a lot of other cases wich look as clean as the 550, but they are not silenced.

Apart from that, i find that compared to the 650, the 550 is quite a big dissapointment. I've had the chance to Test 550 and 650 side by side, and TBH, the 550 doesn't stand a chance. The Front door is glossy plastic, wich is 1. very rare to find on a CM Case and 2. is very dissapointing that CM used it, because it doesn't feel very nice.

The 650 has Radiator Mountings, it's slienced and it is one hell of a case. I absolutly love it and the aluminium front door is great. It's also very Silent (apart from the Fans they have shipped with mine - they have bad bearings and are quite loud).

Only thing is, that you don't have any space for cablemanagement on the back, because of the silencing material. It's even worse on the 550, because it's smaller

in early interviews with vice he had a terrible 3d printer, and made a upper that was capable of like 3 shots. even that would be fatal to someone that plans. not to mention you could bypass things like that to reinforce a design and use other methods like ceramic coating the barrel then rifling it etc. to help it operate more.

you're right that the political implications are surprising that can come from one person, but he himself has said in multiple interviews he does this because he believes he is an anarchist. that in itself is admitting he is not an inventor, or a researcher, intellectual, pioneer or anything like that. he simply wants to stir the pot because he's a young guy with a personal vendetta against a society that most probably has made no slight to him.

and yes, alot of his designs have failed in the past, vice even covers this. however he still has manufactured operational parts that would allow for quite a huge headache for the entire country. for instance, in florida you do not need a background check or permit to purchase a upper. you can simply buy one over the internet. now that you have that upper, then go to his website, download the files and make your own lower and magazine, and boom you have a double drum mag full auto assault rifle.  this can circumvent many restrictions, and to a resourceful person, a felon could then regain a dangerous weapon.
it would be great if this was just an experiment like ibm does to just pioneer, but it isn't. its a child with a mission and i still believe it should be removed from this site, and his website shut down.

Slick, get some sleep. You looked terrible (as in sick and tired) in the iSwitched video. Go to bed and don't crawl back out before this week's live stream. Also, try to not die in the next switch palace.  :P

I don't mind plastic personally, depending on how its implemented.  There's different kinds of plastic, there's grocery bag plastic and there's LEGO plastic and beyond.  The military uses plastic.  Plastic is a great material (better than metal I think) provided manufacturers use the right kind of plastic.  My 5 year old ThinkPad T61 has all plastic casing over a magnesium frame and looks exactly the same (and I mean exactly the same) as it did when it was purchased, meanwhile most solid aluminum unibody MacBook Pros I've seen after a year or two have scuffs and grinding all along the edges of the body, and heavy usage has etched dark spots into the palm rests, they look dirty and scraped up after a year or two.

Provided manufacturers do it right plastic is a great construction material.

Carbon fiber as used for casing materials is plastic by the way :) (CFRP - Carbon Fiber Reinforced  Plastic)

That's why it's mostly used in the inner casing of a Notebook. Most of them have an aluminium or plastic body, wich means the shock will be absorbed by the alu or the plastic.

Did I miss something? I haven't put any time in cable management so far, it's
    not even assembled yet! :D
No worries, my friends, there will be custom cables with a nice paracord sleeving.
I'm absolutely anal about cable management, in fact I have been thinking about pretty
much nothing but cable management in the past few days and how to best go about
it once I get to that stage.
I have arrived at the conclusion that in order to get this tidy I will require custom
wires, so I have to order a few tools for that, which means I'll have to wait two weeks
or so until they get here.
Anyway, thanks for the visit, and I look forward to presenting you with some nice cable
    management :)

    ArchLinux here too^^

Pretty much the exact same reasons alpenwasser said.

Although i'm more the type for "shiny" Deskops :D But, even that can be acomplished with a bit of work...(i don't know why Imageshack turned the pictures that small...)

That's Mate, paired up with Compiz....very fast, but Mate had some not so nice bugs, like the black status bar in the task bar...

Then there was another experiment with Rainmeter...looked quite good, but was very heavy on that old Core2Duo in my Laptop (wich is now sold, btw^^)

I'm thinking about plasti diping a PCB, to make it fit the colour scheme on my pc...
If somebody doesn't know what plasti dip is: It's basically "rubber in a spray can".
Rubber is non conductive, but since plasti dip isn't just any normal rubber, i'm not sure if that would work the way i would like it to^^
Has anyone done it yet and can share the insight about it with me? :D
