  1. " Seems to me like Civ 6 is going for a completely new Art Style. " how can this be obvious from that sentence? you stressed "completely new" this implies that its new to civ and not just "completely new"? well, suppose my interpretation skills are not the best but I did not get "new to civ" from "completely new" thats why I added "different". its the internet. leaving things open to interpretation isn't the best of ideas, imo.
  2. the art style is not new. is it new to civ? maybe.. but the art style is not new. "hey check out this TV show, its new!" "um no, I watched this same show a while back" "well, its new to me.. so its new" oke. @suicidalfranco Doesn't have to be "near perfect realism" that is extreme. but it also shouldn't be at the other end of the spectrum. because that is also extreme. there is balance that can be met. I thought Civ 5 met it. of course it suffers from technical issues due to this, but my hope was civ 6 would address those issues without killing the art style. (imo, this is doable) edit; spelling
  3. FTFY* how can art be objectively superior? or you mean technically superior?
  4. it can look better. much better. there is no texture on that grass. CIV 5: Civ 6: see the difference? its ok though, I'm assuming this isn't the final build. and of course, mods are a thing. so I don't mind. but saying visuals dont make a difference isn't true. it adds another level of immersion.
  5. "I don't care. ipso facto, you shouldn't" "You will not do anything about it, so do not speak of it"
  6. that is unfortunate. the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.
  7. prevent = keep something from happening. ok. since this is about preventing we should look at the amount of data they collect vs the amount of arrests made. if it takes collecting all of the meta data of a country to arrest 10 people in 2 years, is it worth it? data centers are expensive. payroll is expensive. I think our resource are better spent elsewhere. I know a lot of people suffer at the hands of extremists. I'm not saying "ignore that shit, work on something else" I'm saying the current idea to "prevent" the issue is not efficient; it's wasteful. you guys can argue privacy all you like but the truth is, its a terrible idea.
  8. they wouldn't ask permission, so they wouldn't knock on your door. the analogy you are looking for is: "comes in through your kitchen door, snoops about then exits." this is not ok. you seem to think it is. if they asked, thats one thing. if they do not, that is another. ask me, if i say yes (warrantless) proceed. if I say no? well maybe I have something to hide, so.. get a warrant? why is that so difficult? because you can't stop crime BEFORE it happens? thats crazy talk, stopping crime BEFORE it happens? ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR MIND?! or have we discovered magic?
  9. maybe they will make this a platform for sucking money from you. like every other game is trying to be. they don't release complete games anymore, they release "platforms" to suck money from you. 'Infinite warfare" sounds like a platform to me.
  10. oh, so they finally got it right? lets see how it plays out.
  11. fuckin' hell man. why bring it to the tech forums? this topic wasn't about Jim Sterlings credibility, was it? it was/is about Youtube's ContentID system. so he was the one that found the bottleneck, I fail to see how that invalidates his findings. or how his credibility comes into this equation. do you? maybe you just can't get it up unless you do this sort of stuff first? no judgement, just curious.
  12. that's irrational. like a phobia. "I stay away from all dogs, because I can't tell which is about to attack" -- irrational fear.
  13. it still is. its just major publishers (not even all of them) pushing shit ports and shit platforms. OT: " The update will likely be in 3 to 6 weeks. " this is enough time for people to forget about this game. shot right in the foot. goddamn. why ship a game on a platform that is clearly inferior to everything else? (UWP) great launch microsoft, did not disappoint; exactly what I expected.
  14. agree with your first statement. not the edit. yes of course. because those processes are fast and painless. every government office is there to see you processed as fast as possible. /s I can already see the clusterfuck. some get help fast and solve the issue because they know someone inside the office(s). others will be left to wait before anyone begins to think about their case. real life is ran by real people; with issues.. some more than others.
  15. video game competitions are not button mashing events. or shouting matches. they are mind games. most of it, if not all of it, is straight tactics & teamwork. I'd love to see a competition between two people out-witting each other in a way that is entertaining. board games are alright to showcase this, but video games are even better. why? because seeing the action unfold in 3D art is amazing. it engages you in ways a board game just can't. you are entitled to your opinion, this is true. but like it or not, esports is moving forward. with or without you
  16. surprised? no.. but goddanm those numbers are bad. 720p@medium settings w/ R9 390 @50fps? what?
  17. which switches did you try? red, green, blue, brown, clear? I have brown switches on my corsair strafe (non-RGB) my color scheme is red, black, and white. so I thought paying a bit extra for RGB wasn't for me. but I'm in love with brown switches. I used red for a long time but after trying brown switches I can't go back. the tactile response is lovely. although the actuation point is the same for reds&browns, reds do not have a tactile response. browns are the middle ground between typing & gaming. I hear clear switches are the same as greens (hard actuate & loud) only silent but I haven't had the pleasure of using a them (clear or greens). blue switches are loud (clicky) and have problems with double tapping keys fast (so not really ideal for games) browns still have that clickity clack I enjoy but its not so loud it wakes up my roommates (I imagine greens are really loud) check this out: if I were you, I'd try out green and blues.
  18. try working for corporate. you get this: I tell my superiors "I can work faster if I use my mouse" response "um.. it's corporate policy. are you about to break policy?" FML admittedly it is the main server PC, so I understand.. but its just peripherals
  19. hmm. so this means 500mhz wasn't enough reporting and was causing the skip/lag? ok, I'll take it lol. its working without issues since last night (or this morning, idk.. I've been up for so long D:)
  20. if you haven't already watched this, check it out; Mouse Pad Buyer's Guide for Gamers. its an LTT video I went with the corsair mm400. I wanted the extended one (covers whole desk, similar to your link) but my desk is not big enough medium one works just fine for me. but I would still like the space if I'm being honest. I play with 400-600dpi (depends on the weapon I'm using) and 1.3 sens ingame (I think, could be a bit higher or lower, haven't been able to play in a bit ) the surface is enough for those settings (medium pad) but don't get the small one. the small one is actually too small.
  21. I've had this issue since I made the purchase. while in wireless mode the mouse will, sometimes, skip a frame(?). its a slight stutter that while reading and moving the mouse pointer (so to keep track of what I'm reading) I can see the pointer jump/teleport/stutter; just once.. but enough to see/feel when moving the mouse. while ingame its even worse, when it happens the mouse just shuts off for 3 secs. maybe less but it feels like forever when you're in the middle of a match. so essentially I paid extra for wireless capabilities and ended up tethered to my cable anyway. I have tried everything short of RMA'ing. but apparently I'm not the only one that has this issue with this mouse in wireless mode. so I'll share what worked for me, although I have no clue why it did. polling rate. I've never touched it. always left it at the default 500mhz. today I said "what the hell, can't be any worse" and jacked it to 1000Mhz. to my surprise, the issue is gone how or why? I don't know about polling rates. but what was the cause and why did this fix it? (for me at least) I always assumed it was a faulty mouse, or maybe I had some serious interference around my desk. never would of guessed it was a polling issue because I have no idea what that thing does
  22. I play with a low sensitivity so I can hit shots I normally wouldn't; I get nervous when I am the last one alive on my team. the cable is a realll problem for me. I need to move my arm really fast when someone enters my FOV. fast and smooth enough that I center on the target. sounds easy enough on a higher sens.. but when you're nervous and are 2 seconds from being flames by your teammates the last thing you need is that damn cable getting caught with something on your desk. end up losing the match, getting flamed, and spilling monster all over your shiny new keyboard. truestory btw.
