I broke my camera man's bed! - Intel $5,000 Extreme Tech Upgrade

Ayyyy OLED + MediaLight Bias Lighting + perfect grey wall represent Bad news though: you really need to peel the plastic off the back of the OLED, that's how it disappates heat (which helps mitigate burn-in) -

Linus thinks the soundbar is overkill? How about this The room is 3.3*2.5m (10.8*8.2ft), so only slightly bigger than the storage locker! Oh, and the secret weapon

Is this of any use? https://youtu.be/qQiMMeVNw-o He does something else with IOMMU groups which I hadn't seen before, although unRAID would probably know about this method and told you to try it already- 40 replies

This $150 HDMI Cable Boosts Image Quality.. WHAT??

What I'm concerned about is the apparent change in colours when using the mCable, or at least that's what it looks like in your captures -
I have a 40" Philips monitor, the predecessor to the one shown near the beginning I like the flexibility in that I can watch 4K media at native res, but, I can emulate an ultra-wide monitor by setting a custom resolution (3840x1645 in my case)

Maybe I wasn't listening properly, but did he mention battery life?

Speedtest.net wasn't the best idea for testing speeds. Linus should have used iperf to test local network speeds

7 Gamers, 1 CPU - Ultimate Virtualized Gaming Build Log
richardsim7 replied to LinusTech's topic in LTT Releases
The limitation is the number of dedicated GPUs you can fit on one motherboard, and seemingly the limit is 7 (PCIe slots) -
I took inspiration from Linus' video and decided to upgrade my unRAID server so I could run a Windows VM on it dedicated to my TV (Kodi with MPC-BE, EmulationStation etc) I went for a Fractal Node 804 case (best case I've ever worked with!) with the following components (some salvaged from my previous builds) MoBo: Gigabyte GA-Z170M-D3H mATX CPU: Intel Skylake i5-6600K RAM: 2x 8GB Kingston HyperX FURY DDR4 CL14, 2133MHz GPU: KFA2 Nvidia GTX 660 2GB HDD: 3x WD Red 3TB SSD: 2x SanDisk Ultra II 480GB Installation wasn't as smooth as Linus' build, but I got there in the end (namely, I needed virtio 0.1.109 drivers and the pci stubs trick didn't work for passing through a PCIe USB card, I had to do it manually in the XML) In the end though, it works amazingly well. I even set up a VM for OS X to play with

MRV is a manufacturer. The box in question is an MRV OptiSwitch 906G. It is essentially a switch, connecting LMG to the ISP via single-mode fiber Whilst the ISP claims it costs $40k, that would most likely be list price. Real world prices are *much* lower, and in fact, you can get one on eBay right now (used) for $650
