I recommend adding more LEDs to your system. It is 100% guaranteed to make it go faster.

On a side note, rest assured Malwarebytes is the best thing since sliced bread, so you aren't wasting any time in downloading it, even if it doesn't solve the issue.

That was one solution, but if you want to scan for a rootkit, use MalwareBytes. https://www.malwarebytes.org/

If you're talking about your laptop, your laptop only supports DDR2.

The maximum amount of RAM that laptop supports is 8GB. So if you wanted to max that out, you would want 4GB*2 sticks.

What version of Windows 7 are you using? If you can find a 64-bit ISO of your current version of Windows, that'll work.

You would have to open it up and find out as I'm not sure about replacement of the CPU. As to the second question, you would have to check the thermal paste to see if it's dried out. If it is, yeah replace it. If not, it might still be worth replacing since the thermal paste might be cheap.

Download HWMonitor and tell us the temperatures. It sounds like it's pretty hot if you can feel it through the keys, and if that's the case, when's the last time you cleaned it out?

The CPU does support the x86-64 bit instruction set, so yes. You can verify this by downloading CPU-Z and looking at the supported instruction sets.
