The Reu got a reaction from star_pilot475 in AMD Ryzen 2nd Gen Build
Sorry to hear you don't like the GPU. I traded 3 hours of work for it, so I'll leave it for now. I do agree about the RTX. I love the 2080ti I have in my main rig.

The Reu reacted to Firewrath9 in New H115i Platinum
Yeah, I still think the Air 540 and Air 240 are nice, but they are kinda expensive.
Excellent cable management, but a tip to make your audio and usb 2.0 connectors look nicer is to cover the part with all the individually colored wires with electrical tape, so it is black.

No Kids and some free time I guess.
What I posted was, I think, my 5th rebuild? Also didn't just pick everything up one day. This is the result of months of side jobs and bargain hunting.

Up front, I'm not as hardcore as a lot of folks here. I build for fun, its a hobby.
Here's the latest config on my 2nd rig. Good if I head to a lan, or if I just want to game in a room other than my basement. (Don't judge, I own my basement ;) )

After a bunch of small issues I finally did a clean install of win 10. Here are my benches. Videocard currently at stock settings. CPU has a modest OC, 4.3 Ghz.

The Reu got a reaction from cpug514 in OptiPlex 7010 Rebuild
I'm bored and it's cold. I thought I'd build something cheap for guests or to take to short notice lan parties. Most of this is from stuff I've had around. I picked on the 1050ti on a black friday special. I removed the dell logo for a small improvement in ventilation. I'm almost certain this shouldn't work but, the magic smoke has stayed inside so far.....
Dell OptiPlex 7010
Swapped the i5 for a xeon E3 1240
16GB DDR3
256GB SSD
1TB SSHD
MSI GeForce 1050Ti LP. I added some thermal pads between the GPU and Heatsink.

I've not been aware of HWBOT until right now. I did find the above links thanks to the fine folks at Google though.

I tried a couple of corsair ML140s along with my new 1080. What do you think? I know it's mostly corsair stuff. It just kinda ended up that way.

Corsair H110i GTX AiO
ProlimaTek Pk-3 Thermal Paste
16GB (4x 4G) 2133 DDR4

2x 2TB Segate (Raid 1)
Geforce 1080ti FTW3
Yeah, i tried an external Sound Card....

Do these numbers look low for an EVGA 1080Ti FTW3 and an i7 6800k OC'd to 4,2 GHz? No lcock changes on the vid card, just switch to the secondary bios for the more aggressive power settings.
I'm looking hard at AMD but its going to be a while because money. #adulting

The Reu reacted to leadeater in Exchange 2013 Server Questions
From my understanding Exchange will stop all mail flow. The server will still work and outlook will connect etc but it won't be a function mail server without a license.
Edit: FYI the Exchange key if using a volume license agreement is the same key for everyone, if retail then I think that is unique but not sure since I've only ever used volume licensing. Get in contact with a Microsoft licensing partner.

The Reu got a reaction from ARikozuM in Wiring A House With Ethernet
the lat time I wired a house I did a couple of things.
Where ever I wanted one Jack, I ended up running two. In my case I had PoE devices in mind.
Don't try to run two jacks off of one Ethernet run, you'll only end up with a half duplex connection on each jack.
If you have the money maybe consider running STP Cat 6a. When done correctly Cat6a wil suport 10GB at up to 100meters. STP (Sheilded Twisted Pair) is better protected against interference. These is a lot or potential interference out there and STP is a reasonable guard against it.
Lastly, are you running ethernet in any areas that experience large temperature swings? If so there's such a thing as GEL filled UV shielded Ethernet. You don't need to do your whole house with this stuff, just areas that get really hot or cold. It's also great if your going to connect to Wifi Devices on the outside of your house.
