Most likely what you bought was a Displayport -> HDMI cable.
Cables other way don't really exist.
You need a proper adapter HDMI-A male > DisplayPort 1.2 female or similar.
Same monitor, same issue with one pixel.
I didn't do anything with it, doubt it would be big enough problem for an RMA to go through.
I don't really notice it in day to day use. I have to look at the exact spot to see it.
HDDs can reach 100-200 megabytes/s. SSDs can reach 500+ megabytes/s.
SATA is max 6 gigabits/s which translates to 600 megabytes/s.
So SATA speeds have been reached.

Power requirements for 7 3090s would be crazy, does it need to be a single machine?
Couldn't you just replicate your current 5800X+2*3090 multiple times and distribute the work?
If you're installing an OS onto it, just delete all the partitions so it's all unallocated. That way the OS installer creates the necessary system partitions and uses rest for storage.
