Doing yet another AIDA64 run as I write this.
Hitting max 82C now on average.
    And floating between 2.6 - 2.83GHz.
Not sure if that's good but after a BIOS Update, it seems to cap out at 91C and then throttles up to 13%.
    Super bummed.
I might go fight back for my money and reevaluate my options.

What you and I have probably seen is a select few machines that come with issues. It could very well be subjective issues. I know that the MS Store also has Signature Editions of the XPS 15 and I have heard they go through a round of MS QC on top of whatever Dell does. Something that could be helpful for peace of mind.

i have the baby brother the xps 13 and my GF has the xps 15 so ive used it on occasion and it is a awesome choice i would defiantly go for that but like VAkena the only down fall with the xps is the 4k can be a bit draining especially at high brightness however you can still get a solid 6-10 hours out of it and the charger is not much bigger than an iPad charger so not much a big deal to take it to class with you

I actually agree with your assessment of the Dell XPS 15, the specs match what you want to go for as well. My only criticism would be the 4K screen draining battery life - it doesn't matter if you're gonna be carrying your charger with you all the time (I personally don't with mine).

@OP as far as two monitors vs. one ultrawide goes, it all depends. I like having two seperate monitors, I can run a fullscreen program on one, have something else on the other, so, for example, I could be playing Starcraft 2 on my main monitor, and have build orders open on the second. I guess it just depends on whether you find having two separate screens frustrating or not. Ultrawide will give you a better gaming experience, but I feel dual monitors is better for productivity

Edit: And just as a point, I'm aware SC2 was a shitty example since the game doesn't run in 21:9 aspect ratio anyway

I've tried looking for other options in the Ultrabook Category with similar specs, but they usually come with an HDD instead of an SSD to keep the price low.

It doesn't have to be absolutely speedy, just good enough for a Grade 11 Video project. But I have been leaning more towards the 8GB.

The G3 from LG is the first phone I've used with a 2560x1440 display. That's a lotta pixels! Not to mention the rest of the top-of-the-range specs!

Alright, now onto the good stuff. LG is giving us TWENTY FIVE G3's to give away! All you need to do to qualify is post your favourite thing about the G3 from the review above in this thread and you can be selected at random to win one of these phones!

Please note that they are retail units (in the video I said pre-production, but this has since been changed) and they are Korean unlocked global units, so you will need to verify if they will work correctly on your carrier! To my knowledge they will work on AT&T or T-Mobile, but I got no data - only get voice and SMS on my carrier (Bell) so YMMV.

Either way you can still enter to win one, and you an always use it as a portable gaming device or whatever... I mean, it's a G3 man! The wifi will work! Best of luck to everyone!

    One entry per household.

The giveaway is worldwide and closes July 6th and the winners will be announced on Twitter, so make sure you're following @LinusTech!

It is with great sadness I report that Classic Game Room, a YouTube channel that has been around since the dawn of YouTube, has left.
For reasons related to the Content ID Claims that YouTube has been making Mark from CGR HD released his final video today December 12, 2013.

I am extremely aggravated with the stupid Content ID Claims. I understand that they must happen, but doing this to the point where a channel has to close up shop and move. YouTube needs to get it's sh*t together.

    Hey Guys,

The plan has changed somewhat for Razer Comms. We'll be using it for the call-ins from our special guests (Logan from Tek Syndicate for the July 19th episode of Th WAN Show, and Lew from UnboxTherapy for the July 26th episode of The WAN Show)

Then we'll also be using it for community call-ins during the afterparty.

Either way I think if you and your gamer friends try it out you'll be impressed by how easy it is to set up and some of the gaming optimized features that it has versus more mainstream chat clients such as SKYPE.

I would love a UD4H because it's more feature rich and is red but unfortunately it isn't as compatible with OS X as a UD3H or UD5H.
    Great suggestion regardless!

I used PC Part Picker because it is universal to a lot of people and is better than me giving links to Newegg Canada, Canada Computers and NCIX CA.
With that said, I still might go with a different card (The ASUS one for example) as I might get better benefits, like EVGA's ACX Cooler.
    Thoughts?

In my personal opinion the Gigabyte G1 Sniper series is a pretty good buy for gaming/editing. Plus with the new Haswell G1 Sniper boards your can change the sound on it's on-board OP-AMP if it doesn't suit your needs. Also it's pretty feature rich and freaking huge!!

Well it will be a while before I get a sound card. As it seems from Googling around there aren't a lot that are supported. I'll play safe with Gigabyte.
As long as I get decent overclocks I'll be a happy camper.
MSI Afterburner is good and I think EVGA Precision X is another good one.
    Thanks yet again!
