Will say as an engineer who works for Micron (thanks Linus for dropping in to Boise last year 💓), I am so happy to see framework encourage this style of modularity to reduce e-waste and a product that finally meets the demands of more than one type of client for multiple generations. The removeable GPU being a huge boon to me as well as upgradeable mainboard. As a whole, the Dells, Asus, etc. of the world seem to have zero interest in selling lower volume products that don't sell you a whole new system. The Framework product model opens so many doors for repair, sustainability, and affordability down the road in a way that apple would never accept. Framework just epitomizes a lot of user first, environment first solutions that are actually practical. Love the product, love the public message, and love the transparency.

As far as ECC support goes, with DDR5 having on die ECC optionally, I am less worried about that (I work on HBM, so I don't know all the details about DDR5 support on a vendor to vendor basis).

As far as same performance, the 2080 TI is the closest competition but if I had to pick up a GPU for cheap in the mean time I would just snag a local 1060 6gb from a buddy you maybe know, and survive on that until pricing become reasonable because as of now its just horrible to be buying a card.

You should be able to run most of it from docker(probably need some special config for the dhcp server, i woudln't run that in docker it if was me. Then you can point that to what ever mount you want on your server, than can be a nfs or smb mount if you want.

From what ive done withpxe, a lot of the time your not using normal iso's and using the images made for this use, and often you have to do some config, and not just copy a iso to a share.

If that is true, then why would the i9 be pushing the VRM any more than the i7s? The fact is that their 3000+ machine is having VRM issues, with no clear solutions other than changing the watts it is drawing. Also in the Reddit, you can see that apple's stock turbo setting is 125W. I wouldn't trust their janky cooling solution to cool anything north of 60W. It is just a short-coming. Apple needs to fix this with more than a 2$ thermal pad.

So it turns out this issue isn't as simple as everybody thinks, a random person (that's actually his username) on Reddit did some digging and found out exactly what's going on.

The issue has nothing to do with the CPU cooling solution and nothing to do with power profiles, turns out Apple didn't fit VRMs on the board capable of powering the I9 CPU. Ok so that's not 100% accurate, the VRMs would be fine if they had adequate airflow to cool them but as they're sealed into an enclosed space with no active cooling they're getting very toasty and the CPU is throttling to save the VRMs from burning out.
He has a "fix" that he claims can improve performance by upto 20% but we warned, it involves disabling SIP and editing system voltages manually!!

So there you have it folks, the issue is hot VRMS not hot CPU.

Or, I could buy a phone that's a third of the price but does the same things and 2 128gb micro sd cards. And maybe a battery pack that isn't completely idiotic.

The odds are slim it's going to leak. The pump is more likely to die on it during that time, so you'd want to make sure the BIOS is set up so that, should it die while running unattended, it will power itself off immediately. NZXT warranties it for 6 years, though, so you can take that as a vote of confidence that it'll last at least that long -- sure there is always the chance it'll die sooner, but that's a risk you take with anything you buy.

Overclockers UK and GAME team up to get PC gear in to stores according to an article over at Kit Guru.

It currently only appears to be certain large city stores, but if successful i can see that being rolled out to other stores.
    Source: http://www.kitguru.net/desktop-pc/matthew-wilson/overclockers-uk-and-game-team-up-to-get-pc-gear-in-to-stores/

While Overclockers UK is great and i have bought from them a number of times, Amazon still remains cheaper most the time. But Overclockers do have a much wider variety of stock. This however wont be the case in a physical shop. I'm also not sure how well selling prebuilts will go when they are sat next to £300-£400 consoles.

Another issue is that most PC gamers don't shop at game. Many PC gamers prefer digital download, however, the ability to trade in old parts or consoles in order to pay for New PC parts does sound appealing.
