You would have to use lightscribe media to be able to use the lightscribe features on the drive as they have special markings to perform the printing process.

This isn't new, they've been letting these scam "adverts" float around for ages.

^That TBH because I just checked my own account and found several unsuccessful sign in attempts from France (somehow from some using internet exploder), Germany, Russia and Indonesia all with incorrect password entered.

Just move on and don't worry about it.

They pretty much replaced your gen 4 SSD with a 5 year old (and very well used) gen 3 SSD and while I'm not certain that it happens it's likely that your system will only drop down to the drives supported specifications (which is why it's showing PCIe 3.0 x4 as current and supported in the transfer mode section).

demonix00 got a reaction from pcboyguy in Steam shows games as uninstalled but they are installed
If by the games are there, you mean they're still present on the drive then try installing one of the games and if all steam does is check what's there and mark the game as installed without downloading anything then it's just that something dropped a massive clanger and broke things enough that steam couldn't detect what was installed.

Also check to make sure that read and write access to the drive hasn't been changed before doing what I mentioned (although if those permissions have been removed, steam should tell you first) as it could be that those permissions being removed could stop programs from seeing what is on a drive or in certain directories.

demonix00 got a reaction from da na in How much of a game is actually stored on the disc now?
There are ways to fit large amounts of data onto a standard dual layer blu-ray disc with my case in point being final fantasy 7 remake on the PS4 which while having 2 discs, one is the data disc (containing the entire 100GB game compressed into about 50GB) while the second is required to play the game once it has been installed.

On the xbox side it is a bit different since games that are for both the xbox one and xbox series x would if there isn't enough space on the disc for both versions put the lowest common denominator on the disc so that once installed on a series x would trigger the download of the series enhanced version.

This example is likely EA being cheap in not providing the whole game as they would have to include at least two discs.

    One piece of advice.

Remove the barrel batteries from the motherboards listed as 22 and 24 as they are well known to leak and cause large amounts of damage that render these boards completely useless unless all the damages traces are rewired.

It's being sold for parts because that is all that it is since it can't be used as intended.

After dealing with the issues plaguing my current PC I decided that an upgrade that wasn't from ebay was on the cards

    Asus TUF F15 FX506HC
    intel core i5 11400H
    8GB DDR4 RAM
    512GB M.2 SSD
    RTX 3050 4GB

And even though it's hampered with RAM in single channel and a 4GB graphics card, it t-bagged the HP Z210 with its i5 2400, 16GB DDR3 RAM and a GTX 1050Ti in the FFXIV endwalker benchmark by almost doubling the final score by getting close to 12k (it also does good in the actual game getting nearly 100fps in a non crowded area).

Upgrades will be coming once I can figure out how to deal with one temperamental screw.

demonix00 got a reaction from samfisher450 in I have too many m.2s I want to move them to a single 4tb
The easiest way to do this is to connect the new SSD externally, create a single partition, make the folder where steam will be putting the games in, add it to steam and then start moving all the games from each drive over through steam until each game has been moved and you can then install the drive internally.

Or you could copy the contents of one drive over to get the base structure and then take the contents of the steamapps/common folders from the remaining drives into the same folder on the new drive and hope that when you add the new drive to steam that it doesn't throw a hissy fit and spend the next several hours sorting stuff out.

You do know that there are Ryzen processors on the AM4 socket that have integrated graphics and would be a lot cheaper then intel offerings.

Examples taken from current prices on CCLonline.com.

    AMD Ryzen 3 4300G £73.99
    intel core i3 13100 £134.99

Heck, you can get an R5 5600G and still be saving money over the intel i3.

Also I consider an ad blocker to be a malware/virus prevention tool considering the amount of crap that was embedded in adverts that gave false alerts and redirected to fake AV sites.

If google/alphabet wants people to stop using adblockers, they (along with every other internet advertising company) need to step up to the plate and verify that all adverts are safe and don't contain any malicious code.

There's also the fact that I've seen a lot of scam adverts showing up for swamp coolers being falsely advertised as AC replacements, tiny heaters that are supposedly hated by the power companies that couldn't heat a single room and drones that don't have any of the features that are advertised and really needs to be addressed as well.
