You can easily spoof an email address from field, takes almost no time at all to do.

It's a common scam, delete the email and that's that

First - Pegasus allegedly can be used to put compromising materials on your device, so no need to "оbsеrvеd every аspеct оf your privаtе lifе" if you can just plant it there.

Second - Pegasus is usually license-per-usage, and price is exorbitant for almost everyone. We are talking thousands of dollars per use, so the "hacker" will still be in the red after that gig 😛

All in all - it is a scam, good for you to figure that out.

Yeah it's that galaxy from Stargate Atlantis.

It's fake.

At least you didn't win Uganda's Christmas lotto in May like I did, and without buying tickets, I can't believe my luck! /s

The shitty copypastas are fun, it's the lame, poorly written post-irony version of the "Navy Seal/gorilla warfare" copypasta.

I don't even have a camera let alone watch pron or use a smartphone with spyware like whatsapp, but at least they tried, I'll give them that.

"You hаvе my wоrd" is the best part. Because, why wouldn't you trust a person who installed spyware on your devices and blackmails you? 🙂

Changing the sender address is easy.

That is a very obvious scam. But they may send a million such emails. And if only 1 of the people watched some porn, and has the money, they may panic and wire that money. Sending a million emails cost next to nothing, so that is close to $1450 profit. Note how they don't specify what exact genre you watched. This is vague on purpose to leave it up to you to fill the blanks.

And even if it is a real blackmail and they actually had compromising material... never pay. Blackmailers always come back for more until you are broke for real.

Blackmail in general only works if they can prove to you they actually have something. Otherwise is very badly planned scam attempt. I've tried couple of times asking what they actually have. But these are burner emails that will not be active. They are relying that someone actually is so scared of what is on their PC or live in country where police don't have any semi-modern ways to check authenticity of material and are in pretty high-up position to even fake claims to cause harm.

That is because the scammer likely has knowledge of pegasus, and purchased a dump list of email addresses off the dark web to try to scam people out of money claiming that they infected their devices and obtained certain questionable information that they'll supposedly sent to the persons contacts if they don't gat the money.

This is just a reheated version of an old scam tactic.

This is one of the most common scams there is. google "hello pervert."

Corps aren't your friends. "Bottleneck calculators" are BS. Only suckers buy based on brand. It's your PC, do what makes you happy.  If your build meets your needs, you don't need anyone else to "rate" it for you. And talking about being part of a "master race" is cringe. Watch this space for further truths people need to hear.

Per the person you quoted:

purchased a dump list of email addresses off the dark web

These can come from any number of places leaking your email address

Where did you put your email?

I think there was a comic or a talk someone gave years ago, don't remember and I have heard it in many variations now, that stated the simplest way to hack a bunch of people is to do a legit giveaway. Create a website, do a raffle for something somewhat valuable with decent odds (i.e. a few nice peripherals etc) and all you require is creating an account. Make it look fancy and legit.

So, now you have a ton of email addresses and a ton of PWs you were supposed to store securely but obviously didn't. Now go and draw some winners (important, you want your website to stay legit so people don't suspect you), give them the rewards and lay low for a few weeks. Then you can start attempting to log into things like amazon accounts, mail accounts, etc. with these emails/PWs.

Lots of people reused PWs a lot, so chances are you can get into a lot of accounts, maybe even some valuable ones. Pretty sure some people got scammed that way 10 years ago or so, but don't kid yourself: email addresses and account lists are still traded on the web and you should treat every website with an account as potentially compromise and thus NEVER reuse PWs and have 2FA on for bank etc.
