Hey thats good to hear. Ill give RDR2 a pass cause its a technical marvel and it does actually use at least 116GB to full effect. They even have specific animations for cutting steak and whatnot! Thanks for the reply

Nah, I'm too sentimental over my ol' C70. Plus, i found the perfect sized piece of particle board that actually looks pretty good when I varnished it.

Or even use what my brother in law used. I cut him a custom piece of acrylic in black to slide underneath his tower. Works perfect and looks good as well.

If your computer is tiny... like a mini-ITX form factor system or smaller, put it on your desk. On the floor will make things hard to reach.
If it is amid tower or larger, it is designed to be on the floor, and should be on the floor.
Putting such a large on your desk provides 0 benefit. Unless you live in a super dusty environment (which I would suggest to get your lungs check out first, if that was the case), than on the floor. even if you have carpet. Just clean your dust filter out (hence the point of having them), once a week, to a month (depending if you have pets and environment and air quality), and you are good. Once a year, bring a can of compressed air and clean the inside to keep the heatsink and fans clean for optimal operation.

I know you say a random plank of wood would ruin the aesthetics but if it were a non-random plank. As In if you got some wood and cut to the size of the feet so you could hardly see the wood it might work.

Good to know that it must just be a driver issue generally. It may also just be the fact that origin isn't the best piece of software and EA games in general just generally run like ass thanks to bad optimization.

I know that feeling, last week my 1070 tried to revolt against human-kind.  I managed to stop it before it did any real damage, but now I keep it locked up in a Faraday cage.

Yea, hopefully the next driver update helps or something. But for now I try to avoid using my pc at all...

When gaming it will affect the temps and performance. Most people when they are gaming put it on a table for the comfort so if you do that then you will be fine

Doubt you could ever get the card cold enough to cause an issue. 17c is only 3 degrees colder then what my cards see. Still well within standard operating temps.

This is one of those rare occasions where i am actually asking for a friend who has less tech experience then me. Basically, his gpu is showing a green light, so its getting power and the hardware is fine, but when he presses the power button, nothing happens. I told him to check and make sure his power button header was connected correctly to the motherboard. It was. Any ideas? Its strange since he left for vacation, came back, and his pc refused to work. By the way we are talking on skype with no video connection so this is extra difficult.

EDIT: he was pressing the reset button.

Yeah, he really isn't that tech savvy.

Hello, for any of you following my past posts you would know that i have been experiencing extreme slow down on my PC caused by full memory, i have 8 gbs so it was very concerning. (This was fixed after installing me new hardware.) So, i bought some new parts (i5 4690k, evga supernova 750w psu, 980 ti) with my Christmas bonus and after installing them, i didn't even have to reinstall windows 10. So, my new year has started out great. Would love to hear of anyone else getting some new hardware. Finally everyone can stop roasting me for having an AMD CPU in a high end rig.
    Thanks all for helping,
    Noah
